The gallardo doesn't have more power they're both 500hp and btw the Porsche is newer and lighter, so no this is just an example that there's no replacement or displacement. To be fair though if it was a Porsche turbo pdk it would have embarrassed the Lamborghini, but then u can just bring in a lp-570 into it and it's back to this...

From my point of view, the 911 Turbo did better than expected considering: (1) The Gallardo has +40hp (2) Is E-geared. 911Turbo is a little mean machine as in pitbull.

Similar power, but I'd think that at VERY high speeds, the Lambo's superior aerodynamics would come into play. (Lamborghinis are SO low.)

Anyway, can't wait to see what the next generation of 911 turbos will be like (when they put a 3.8 litre engine in the back).

looks like the left car always has a longer lane, as theyre not driving papalell, therefore the lambo was in fron the first 2 races and the 911 in the 3rd run. 3rd start was ok, as the camara was not right-angeled

I don't think you can blame it on the 997's manual. As you can hear, the driver isn't much of a slow shifter..

And the Gallardo is heavier, so i dont think the 40 hp is the key. Maybe some aerodynamics, or torque curve.. ? :P

I do believe that the E-Gear and 40 extra HP did it together.

As you can see the Porsche crushed the Gallardo in the start but when they got closer to the top speed the Gallardo was better because of the HP.

the 997 will crush almost any car, in "the start" due to its turbochargers...

So that the 997 is listed with a 0-62 time in just 3,7 sec, doesn't necessarily mean its that much faster than cars doing it half a second slower...

In the last race, where the cameraman switched to the Gallardo, the Turbo had a slightly bigger lead than the Gallardo had when the cameraman was in the 997 Turbo. Result? Too close to tell, but I think Porsche is just a tiny bit faster. And it has 40 BHP less.

I love that 3.6 L Proshce engine it's half the lambo and manual gears but it has great response. I think with same Hp the porsche should win you have to compare it with the new GT2.

The GT2 will not beat an LP560. Top Gear drag raced both of them and the LP560 was faster throughout the range.

As for the 997 Turbo, it will beat a normal Gallardo, but this one is an SE with 20 extra horses.
