Yes, she was supposely considered but not anymore after Jumbo did not the best business. Shirley McLaine came close to being cast, but Debbie Reynolds faught for the role and won. Urs from London

She does look great. I heard her on the radio for her birthday and she sounds the same. Great voice and you know its her. Thankfully she still sounds young and does not sound like a creaky old lady.

I have this on dvd thankfully and it is a full length interview showing a still beautiful and sunny Miss Day discussing her career, her marriages, her animal work and her life after hollywood. As it is going off, the ending credits say copyright 1995.
