Used stage 3 SRT-4 - $15-19,000.00 + under $5000.00 in mods = rustang eater. So for around 25k you could have a car pushing closer to 450hp, plus have the reliablility of a non-ford product.
how about a s/c ta or camaro ss? both are less than 25k, you also have a stage 3 srt4 which would be right there with it and that was 26k, then you have a s/c c5 vette, which would cost all togehter maybe 30-35k
sorry, a properly tuned honda with 4 grand wont even touch a cobra. my friends 93 EG hatch has about 10 grand in the motor (B18 with a B16 head, skunk2 stage 2 cams and cam gears, 11:1 compression with JE pistons, stainless steel valves...etc) and it only ran in the mid 14's, and last time i checked a stock cobra is capable of mid to high 12's, so no...thats def. not possible

Actually the SRT-4 isn't much slower than the SRT-8. 13.9 vs. 13.3-5. Plus the SRT-4 is a LOT easier to get power out of. Personally I'd worry less about a stupid ass stock charger and more about a possible 500rwhp SRT-4...unless it was a race from a stop...it'd take him forever to catch up.

I bought an SRT4 as my DD and kept my 2004 GTO at home, sadly I sold the GTO so I could be debt free to save up for a house. Give me 5 years and I'll be back in a muscle car though and will park it in my new houses garage ;). SRT is a quick car but you can't beat the muscle car feel/power!

@punched I bought my SRT off the lot new with 22 miles on it in 05 for 19,900 including tax title and license. Buddy decided to get the SVT Cobra in 04, $41k later we raced and he spanked me. I put $5k into my car... and I get better gas mileage (22-24 city 30+ HWY) I am faster, more room for people and storage in the trunk. Not to mention I saved 15k! Even with full bolt ons I pull him easily. It is very apparent who got the better deal on their car. In every aspect my girly neon is better.
@joshblacker1 Usually I work him from rolls. From digs on the street he usually edges me out. At the track when I have my slicks on it is usually me with the better ET and Traps. I will post up a video of some races when i get a good video camera. Subscribe to my channel and you will see it soon enough. SRT is down right now though...getting the motor worked over and a better head job. I will keep you posted. I love Cobra's but i think i got the better deal.
