kris120890 is right in what he said, the christian religion took over popular pagan holidays (often just the date and maybe one or two rites connected with that day). It was to make it easier for pagans to turn to christianity and their is no reason to call that a lie, church doesnt either. This band is amazing, you're obviously just to close minded to like more than one type of music. Metal gets old, not very original nowadays, mettalica now sucks, all most bands are old and dull.
