That's a great twist. What caused the estrangement? Brian's homophobia? Or could it be that Brian is gay, and divorced from his mom when Reg was an infant? And his crush on Lucinda is a cover, because, as he said, philanthropy is conservative?

With Noah in Italy, a lot can happen to Luke. Van himself has said that he wanted Kevin to return "to stir things up."

I'm a gay fundraiser and have worked for gay, AIDS and other non-profit groups and I wouldn't act that way. Period.

1) Brian's advice was sound for a new group trying to make its mark; esp a children's group in a homophobic world competing for money

2) Brian's remark had nothing to do with the relationship with Lucinda; Luke illogically combined the two

3) Public outbursts are destructive

Yeah, in recent days, I'm been recreating Noah's mushroom toss at the office. Every time I throw garbage into the wastepaper basket, for example, I'd add a "boop!" I'd also do the same wrist toss. My coworkers just think I'm weird.

I also agree with you about Van. I'm sure he's having a blast playing a not-so-nice Luke.

By the way, I have learnt that there is no such thing as mushroom hunting, rather mushroom "picking" and is best done BEFORE the sun comes out (So, Nuke could have taken that 'nap' after all). I disagree with you. Luke is still insulting Brian at the end, but it seems less malicious. He's just annoyed at the constant interruptions and seeming cluelessness on Brian's part that they'd like to be alone.

In your commentary you didn't mention how close-up the near kiss was. I was impressed by that. It seems like a lot of times the cameraman tries to hide Nuke affection by hiding behind one of their shoulders or focusing elsewhere. But the camera's were RIGHT ON THE LIPS for this one.

That being said, I don't think it would have killed them to let Nuke kiss a little bit before Brian came in. If anything, it would make the interuption more callous, which is what they're going for I think.
