  • how fucking depressing i cant watch this ...

  • Ozzy was strong vocally. He was in his prime

  • 1 person is a "BelieBer"

  • This was my 1st viewing of Ozzy in a "live" concert. Too bad about the lip syncing part, I had no idea at the time, but I totally fell in LOVE with Ozzy's music after this!

  • he looks depressed as shit

  • I love the laid back feeling of this song.

  • why is it that 99% of the footage from this tour is of gillis...

did someone get the bright idea to start filiming after randy died?

  • @Guitarplaya668

This tour took place around Nov 82 Randy had been dead for over 6 months and Sharon wanted Ozzy to Cont his career, Gillis did an epic job learning all these songs in a few weeks. I dont think Ozzy really felt like it and i'm pretty sure most of the recordings are studio enhanced as the gigs themselves were not exactly high quality.

  • The only sad thing is that Randy isn't playing :/

  • 3:10 is a very somber moment, alot of the crowd were scared. 4:27,that lick is said to still haunt Don Airey to this day.

  • @SmittyHeWasNumber1 I see what you mean at 4:27... Ozzy reaction is horrifying when drunk... I am sobering up right now...

  • 1:04 ,listen to that well planned out and executed dissonance.

  • wow thanks for posting, brad was hired but he had to play randy's music exactly the wat randy played it, he wasnt allowed freedom of expression, brad will never have the piercing tone of randy, but it was simple for brad to play randy's licks and that makes him one of the greatest Unsung Heroes of Heavy Metal Guitar! btw this is rare and was not included in the official release of Speak of the Devil

  • помоему звук наложен нет?

  • Must have been fair hard to continue the tour after what happened...

  • Awesome song and message! but Ozzy himself is sadly an drug wreck today. Baffeling around in his confusion.

  • Love this vid.. used to have the whole concert at one time. Too bad we don't have such good footage of RR, but big props to Brad Gillis for stepping into unfillable shoes

  • Randy had died, unfortunately, Brad Gillis had taken a break from his band to join Ozzy and help finish the tour. It had gotten so bad, that Brad was booed off stage, so Ozzy changed the format. Hence the reason so many Sabbath songs are on the Speak of the Devil album. Jake E Lee came soon thereafter, honestly, who could take the abuse Brad had dealt with...Jason Newstead, the bassist that had to try and fill in for Cliff Burton?

  • were the fuk is randy? did he alredy die at that time?

  • jjc1026: The man is now deaf, of course you can't understand him, he can't hear his own words without amplification.

  • after elvis died ozzy became the new king of rock n roll

  • @jodyoverdoser

Ozzy killed Elvis and ate him.

  • @2eelShmeal hellyeah, then Ozzy pooped out Justin Bieber. little shit head.

  • @jodyoverdoser hee hee

  • "Grew up with Ozzy"...He is the best there is!

  • Wow, Rudy's bass sound fuckin HEAVY.

  • i hate brad gillis sound

  • Holly shit! Brad Gillis and Tommy Aldridge on drums! Two of the best Rock musicians in the world!!

  • yeah Brad Gillis did kick ass after Randy.I wished at that time he would have stayed a while longer with Ozzy because "where is one now "?love the moment after 3:29

  • 1 person isn't a believer

  • this is not randy. this is a hobo

  • Brad Gillis did AWESOME considering he had ten days to learn all of Randy's licks after he was killed. Rudy Sarzo sucks. He's so busy trying to look cool he can't even tune his freaking bass.

  • sounds like original ...

  • he is so much cooler looking now than b4

  • @MrOzzyfan321 he looked cool in black sabbath that was before this, and yea he does look cool now

  • Comment removed

  • @kkrow89 tru

  • @MrOzzyfan321 Yeah because wearing loads of makeup and wearing a black trench coat everywhere is so cool. Faggot.

  • @74BlackDiamond74 Thanks for posting this video. I remember seeing this on MTV when they were a music channel and they had their Saturday Night Concert Series then and this was on, this was my first introduction to Ozzy live. I remember where this show was filmed, it was Irvine Meadows Ampitheater which is now known as The Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in Irvine, California! Thanks for the post!

  • this is an awesome version to bad bass is out of tune

  • you woulda thought they'd show rudy sarzo how to play the bass riff right....

  • I LOVE this song!!!!

  • is that Jake?

  • @piperopiperos That is not Jake- it is Brad Gillis. Jake never used a tremolo; he would do crazy neck bends. Jake was a much better player than BG, in my opinion.

  • great!

  • Ozzy knows the show must go on.

  • I sas in line at the Post Office with Rudy Sarzo (Bass) a while back. Chatted with him for a second. Cool dude.

  • @C2CONTINUE Yeah, I seen him in 2003 with Kevin,Franky,Carlos on Saint Patty's day.. Cool dude.

  • I saw this concert live in NY back in 1982.

The concert was in May that year instead of March because of Randy Rhoads' death.

I've seen the Oz man 13 times, this was his BEST show of all! I still have the original tour book from this show and the Blizzard of Oz tour book from 1981. Ozzy, you're the best!!!

  • power stance i fuken love brad

  • KICK ASS BASS INTRO!!!

  • Auto-Tune on Ozzys vocals LIP SYNC!

  • @mkall32

    Auto-tuning didn't exist in 1982. Lip-syncing however did.

  • @mkall32 i'm pretty sure the audio track is just a little delayed, Ozzy actually sounded fucking awesome until like 1990.

  • Auto-Tune on Ozzys vocals LIP SYNC!

  • @mkall32 I don't think so. Heavily processed yes, lip sync no. If you know the song well enough from "Diary of a Madman" and "Randy Rhodes Tribute", you'll notice a few things Ozzy does here that aren't in those recordings. This was my favorite song for years.

  • Randy Rhoads rocked the hell out of any guitar player. But Brad Gillis was awesome on this live. IMO better than Jack Wylde

  • @IronPump89 Watch wwwDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=MWIY0kuiSxE&feature=related

Zakk Wylde throws more into it that's different. Brad sticks mainly to how Randy played it.

  • sorry for my bad English I am an Ozzfan from the Middle East and I love his music so much

  • randy rhoads!!!

  • @marcobrs22: That ain't Randy.

  • @Monkibomber93 Uh, that certainly looks like him...

  • @Monkibomber93 I lied, no it doesn't.

  • @Machx72 Gillis finished the Diary of a Madman tour after Randy died.

    and

@4578a Lee is my least favorite guitarist, and I like Gillis the second most after Randy.

  • @bringingbackmusic Yay for reading BOTH of my comments.

  • Brad gillis does a great job in Night ranger and here he sounds good but i'm glad Jake e. lee stepped in after this. He's more of a metal player. Ozzy must have still been reeling from the loss of Randy rhoads.

  • THE VERY BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Love That bass in the begining its kind a .... i dont know but its awsome!!

  • I LOVE the keyboards guy dressed in hood and robes!

  • ozzy you ar the best that ever lived

  • Thank You for this video!!

  • u know...her ehe looks like hes drunked lol

  • this guitarist sucked soooo much ass!!!!!! the greatest was Randy and always will be

  • @elcolocholoco lets see you do better then fking prick

  • @elcolocholoco are you like 8yrs old or what? his names brad gillis

  • @elcolocholoco Brad Gillis is far from sucking ass my friend....he has a different style than Randy, yes.....but that's what makes different guitarists unique, but he definitely doesn't suck as just becasue he has a different style and sound. The guy jumped in at the last minute and did what I consider a great job. Also, Tommy Aldridge plays the songs with his own style, not exactly the way Lee Kerslake did on the albums, but I don't see you commenting on that.

  • It's funny. As a singer, Ozzy's lyrics are so clear and precise, yet the man is totally unintelligible when he speaks. lol

  • @jjc1026 I really don't think it's that difficult to understand him when he speaks. He just has a very slight stutter combined with a Birmingham accent. People exaggerate it, and it has become a stupid cliche about him.

  • @jjc1026 thats true,,

  • @jjc1026 Funny,i can understand both.

  • @jjc1026 Actually it's not as bad as everyone thinks he just puts it on because it's what people expect he explained it in his book

  • @jjc1026 You do know that it's all an act right? He's an incredibly smart business man as well as the Prince Of Darkness. He's figured out that if he creates something attention grabbing such as slurred speech, he'll grab a nice sized audience. He's a genius in regards to music, and business. Long Live Ozzy

  • @MNalbs actually that was how he talked naturally it had something to do with his teeth, he realized this and got perminant denchers put in and now you can understand every word.

  • I have seen Ozzy like 6 times, the first was with Danzig, sepultura, and a few jackass bands and the rest were Ozzfest's.I would trade em all to see Ozzy in like 81 or 82, I can't stand his newer stuff, funny how all of his songs have the best instruments, best singing..so good of singing in fact that I don't mind the mentally retarded Lyrics LOL Ozzy Forever!

  • Yeah that is Randy's vest Brad is wearing!

  • 4:16 : major drug blast from the ozzman. Very processed voice eh?

And HOLY SHIT that's randy's fucking waist coat!!! WTF!

  • Lol, Love the bass dude, swinging his guitar in the beginning XD

  • Ozzy ... is a creator ... in every decade ... and a very great singer ... he is the only one !!! long live prince of darkness ...

  • Brad was indeed the shits////but as for rhodes he was on the verge of leaving ozzy...he hated the circus vibe sharron brought to the live shows as per say the midgets and the throwing of raw meat to the crowd....(fact)...he was pissed the fuck oF AND COULDNT BELIEVE he was part of this carne jerry springer BULLSHIT...I say randy would have been done with ozzy by at least the end of tour or one ore album!!

  • the hooded keboard guy strikes again....is it satan?

  • sounds like the bass isn't even tuned and the same strings have been on it for 2 years, sounds like a fkn tuba, but other than that this is real nice.

  • i herd it from brutal legend

  • who is on guitar, cuz it don't really look like randy?

  • Brad Gillis he play's in Night Ranger !! csc/10

  • @guitarsbunch347

    Jake E. Lee

  • @EWD1984 its not jake e lee its brad gillis

  • @johnboy2296 poor Brad. I heard when he was performing, he saw signs in the crowd saying "randy lives" and people flipped him off constantly. I wouldnt DARE try to follow an act like Randy Rhoads.

  • cool footage. i remember seeing this concert on mtv a few times back in the early 80s.

  • Ozzy Sounds Great But I Think Brad Murdered Randy's Solo.

  • Hard act to follow.

  • AWESOME ! Ozzy sings too great ! and jack plays amazingly !

  • I think you meant Jake, and this is brad gillis anyway

  • @VoooooooDooooooo no one, whos playing an instrument there is called jack, dickhead

  • That is what I call thematic Metal song. This id deep.

  • Ozzy sounds so close to the studio version here. To bad his voice ain't wat it was before :(

  • I saw Ozzy in Atlanta with Motley Crue opening.. the infamous snorting ants tour.. Jake E Lee was with him then.. he was awesome!!

  • @jcvol Luck Bastard

  • were can i find this concert on dvd ? please let me know if you know !! thank's csc/09 in lynchburg v.a. !!

  • I purchased this full concert from E-Bay. It's technically a bootleg of sorts, from Japan, but this was actually from Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Southern California, in June, 1982.

  • that would be a few week's after Randy Rhoads death wouldn't it ? csc/10

  • my fav ozzy gutarist post randy roads was Jake e lee

  • brad gillis shreds

  • Is this from the Speak of the Devil album?

  • this is from Diary of a madman!

  • no - same lineup though. Speak of the Devil was only Sabbath songs.

  • The album was, but I have the video and there was Ozzy songs too, Brad Gillis kicked ass on them too.

  • @detroitdemon Poor Brad never had a chance to become as popular as he deserved. It was very hard to step into Randy's shoes.

  • no one can play this song like randy did, but brad gillis did a good job filling for him... he has his own style...

  • Brad Gillis did a fantastic job on this tour. He just kills it the whole show.

  • I agree. He was very underrated.

  • i wish ozzy kept gillis but i still think randy is the best with ozzy

  • I believe in Rock n Roll!

  • hail the MADMAN!!!!

  • Perhaps the heaviest sounding Rhoads track. You should try playing it. Very satisfying. The Tribute version absolutely screams. So I don't hate it I love it.

  • God Ozzy used to fucking rule...honestly-back then, who could hang with the Ozzman?

  • its Fukin** lol

  • how about ozzys voice!!??...gotta give it up to him, eh??..dude had a voice..

  • eh? ozzy i fukin ozzy of coarse ppl like his voice lol

  • Ozzy in his prime was a very underrated singer. I always though him and Alice Cooper never got the credit they deserved in terms of vocal ability. Unfortunately Ozzy's voice has been shot for years.

  • classic ozzy starting at 4:16!!!!!!!

  • ahahahahahaha thats hilarious

    CLASSIC ! :D

  • you're right

  • Comment removed

  • Keep in mind that is was only 2 weeks after Randy's death that the same tour continued with Brad filling in.

He did as good a job as can be expected with zero notice.

  • Yo cliff he could have 7 fingers and 4 arms and not even compare to Randy.

  • brads sound is very close to randys on this performance, but he uses that fucking whammy bar way too much,

  • best tour of the 80.

  • hows on guitar? i don't think Jake E lee.

  • Brad Gillis From Night Ranger

  • thats not randy its brad

  • No Randy sadly died before Speak of The Devil was recorded. He also was strongly opposed to playing the Sabbath songs.

  • thats clearly not randy lol..

  • I MISS RANDY

  • always have loved this song

  • playback, at least some

  • This is my favorite of all Ozzy's songs.

  • Ozzy is great

  • is there no randy rhoads performances of this tune? WHAT THE FUCK?

  • ..of course Sarzo is in that live. But many of Ozzy's songs are composed by Daisley.

  • Ozzy is god. What a bassline Daisley plays, and dont forget lyrics are his too.

  • + the real mastermind behind the first two Ozzy albums.

  • Yes, Bob and Randy

  • this must o been a tough tour for ozzy, what with randy recently passed, didn't he shave all his hair off shortly after this?

  • i was told he shaved his head cos all the dye and bleach that he had done over time had killed his hair so he choped it of and grew it again............

  • rudy is my fav bass player next to john entwhistle from the who plus i was born on johns birth day

  • Check out Brad's playing on Speak Of The Devil. It's one of my favorite live albums ever. Very well done

  • Brad is underrated i seen him with night ranger him and jeff watson great team.

  • Never cared for Night Ranger, but Brad Gillis is my favorite Randy Rhoads replacement... definitely a lot better than Zakk Wylde or Jake E. Lee who attempt to insert their "style" into the songs which sucks. Gillis does a great job of covering the parts, filling the spaces, and sticking to the songs without trying to be a big showoff. He was a more mature and tasteful musician than those other clowns.

  • I like the bassist at the beginning

  • on Bass is Rudy Sarzo
