Gas Prices R Skyrocketing Under Obama: Oil futures is just that, futures market. Price-per-barrel spikes oil this week have not affected domestic market yet. Iin face former Shell Oil Pres John Hofmeister predicted in Dec 2010, America would face $5/gal gas by 2012, a full month before the revolution in Egypt began. At the end of Bush’s two terms in office, prices were 9% lower than when he took office. The day before Obama was inaugurated average price of a gal was $1.83.

Congress is more in love with fighting, arguing and NOT passing laws that would improve our situation and their campaign contributors than helping me and you...
We better start drilling and using coal and natural gas that we have as our own natural resources. Have the unions divest their oil speculative stocks. See how fast the Ds stop ragging about speculators. If teh polar bears in ANWR have a problem build them a zoo!!
Let's reprocess our nuclear waste like Japan and Europe do too - They don't have a massive problem that needs the Nevada storage thing, their old fuel becomes new fuel and not waste. We need more clean nuke power, our own oil, gas and coal. Then we can work on the other stuff.
"U.S. regulators charge Dutch firm with oil-price manipulation"
- The Seattle Times
The Republicans are hold us all hostage in the Senate by not moving against Speculators because they want their pet bills and measures passed first!!!!
Call your Senator and light up their phone lines!!!!
There is no one single "silver bullet" solution to our oil and gas price situation. I do believe that Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike want to get this under control.
Our entire economy is whipped around like the tail on a dog everytime the price of oil fluctuates.
There are however, some efforts to counter this situation. I just learned about Senate bill proposal S. 3268 which if passed will provide for oversight of oil speculators.
In the 70's during the first oil shortage, there was huge movement towards energy efficient cars, solar cells and solar water heaters. The government offered financial incentives and tax breaks to invest in these technologies. However, we the American people got "comfortable" the the new price of gas and did not aggressively follow-up with energy conservation. So now that the price of gas has hit an intolerable threshold, we are into a RETRO energy conservation mode!!!
In 1980 Congress passed then President Carter's Energy Security act, that autorized the creation of the Synthetic Fuels Corporation (SFC), which was tasked to creat 2 million barrels of Synthetic oil a day within seven years. Congress gave them $88 billion in loans to help them. Oppec then decided it didn't like the compitition and lowered the price of Oil from $37 per barrel to $14 per Barrel. Since synthetic fuels cost more that $14 to make, the program was shut down six years later. Opec wins
The price of a barrel of oil is going down because the speculators see Americans increasingly putting pressure on congress to remove the ban on offshore drilling as the president has done first. More supply will always drive the markets down. It's basic. It will come down even more when there is proof we will quit relying on foreign countries for our energy. China can drill off Florida's coast thanks to Cuba, but we're too stupid to use new technologies to extract our own. Ignorance galore.
Dont get trapped into the Liberal VS. Conservative war thing....This oil price issue is a Greedy Bastard VS. Americans who cant stop them thing....
Take out your aggression on the real culprits, the oil future traders and their financiers.
BTW- Anyone who has a diversified stock portfolio or 401k probably has some investments in oil stocks....and thats virtually everyone, Democrat and Republican alike!!!
Go after the Money Changers and Oil Speculators and the prices will drop!!!
The critical peice of information that you're all missing is that in 2005 that single largest importer of oil to the United states to the tune of 596 billion barrels and mexico was number two at a close 568 Billion barrels. Proof that there is plenty of oil in the western hemisphere we just need the ability to find it. Is't it amazing how mere hrs after Bush urges congress to lift the ban on drilling the prices per barrel start to drop
The reason the price dropped was because it was overinflated to start with. Now the speculators are caught in the crosshairs. Time to turn up the volume and crash their party!
In 1973 Opec placed an embargo on the US and over a three month span the price per barrel jumped from $3.00 to $11.00. In after a 267% increase Nixon started "Project Independance"he said " Let this be our national goal : At ther end of the decade, in the year 1980, Th U.S. will not be dependant on anyother country energy we need to provide jobs, to heat our homes, and to keep our transportation moving" directly after Opec Lifted their embargo.suddenly independance wasn't a priority anymore.
I Know, I lived through that period of American history. I remember lines of cars waiting to get fuel which was in short supply at gas stations. Thats when the Big Three automakers bit the big bullet and almost went out of business. Chrysler went bankrupt and the U.S. government bailed them out. The military purchased thousands of Chrysler trucks and vehicles. It was later discovered that the so-called oil shortage was not real, but the price went up and stayed there just the same.
The Embargo was placed on us as retaliation for our support of Isreal during thier war with Egypt. It worked the Embargo produced a panic insided the US and the Prices skyrocketed.. The Imagined shortage I'm sure you'll remember caused rationing. It is a fact that The US in 2008 has a klarger supply of oil in reserve than all of the Opec nations combined.
Tactics of Freedoms Watch and groups like them depend on the Ignorance of people who do not verify anything they hear, see or read. When I was a kid I remember the "Reading is Fundimental" program.
We can teach our kids to take tests, but it seems that we cannot teach them the skill of critical thinking.
Theres and old saying that goes something like "Trust only half of what you see and none of what you hear".
Freedoms Watch is a propaganda machine created by the Republican Jewish Coalition
Breaking News...tune in to MSNBC. They just said that oil is going down in price because the current price was "over speculated" (artificially inflated). They also said that because the oil shortfall was not "real" that prices at the pump would go down about 10cents if at all....
If you look at the history of oil speculation, you will see that drilling off our coast will not bring significant gas prices, just fatten someones bottom line. BTW - There is BIG oil field near BRAZIL!!!
Harry Reid blurted out what the Democratic party's threshold for "rich" was during the arguments over tax reduction: a family of 4 with combined income of $60K. Those who get a good feeling from sound bites and blather don't understand that they are the target to pay for these things !! Voters are apathetic to understanding the issues, and the media and politicians (both sides really) aren't tackling ANY of the tough issues facing us for the future.
"The truth is , in order to get things like Universal health care and a revamped education system then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more"-Michell Obama
-Socialisim (n) Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution og goods.
Why not drill here China will begin drilling 80 miles off the Coast of Florida due to there agreement with Cuba, hawever that falls 220 miles inside the US ban on drilling within 300 miles of Thye US coast. I'm sure China will do a better job of protecting our environment, with there great Track record. Didn't they win a the Nobel Peace prize for there humanatarian efforts in Tibeat?? And There Clean Air Act that is building a new coal plant every week. They've got the track record for it.
The top Ten percent of the nations earners pay 70% of the Nations Tax burden how much more should they pay. And when did it become illegal to earn money in the US. Why can't Oil companies earn money to, Hillary and Bill thought it was a good idea in 2006 they earned 40 Million from oil company investments, Barrack Obama Earned Approx 10 Million in the same year from Oil investments. I don't critcize them for that just for being hippacrits about it.
SINCE 2006 when the Dems Took over on Capitol Hill my Gas prices have inreased $2.00 a gallon that's nearly double from where it was prior. Last time I checked it was the House and Senate that have the ability to effect US policy the President is the executice he doesn't write tax codes or Laws, The cogress controlls the purse strings why haven't they don more to stimulate the economy or assist the American inventivness to come up with alternative energies.
Though I don't go far enough back to remeber WWII I do know FDR got beat up in the press for trying to bring us into the war and collaboring with churchill to get us into it, against the advice of most of his closestg supports including the then embassador to the UK Joe Kennedy. I do know that after that he nearly lost the electon due to the Liberal sympothizers who thought that he should unconditionaly meet with Hitler in the new york times, the washington post and the boston globe.
The reason for higher oil prices is the Bush Administration,(where the founders of Freedom's Watch used to work) which, thanks to its massive deficits and tax give-aways to the rich and corporations, to its war spending, and to its failure to combat unprecedented and ever-larger trade deficits, has been causing the dollar to plunge in value.
Oil is a commodity that is priced in dollars. If dollars decline in value, then the price of oil rises in inverse proportion.
Brewt, I remember when an American landed on the moon. I remember when this nation built the Interstate Highway system. Our nation won WWII and rebuilt Japan and Germany. I remember when school systems were pretty damn good.
It was a good idea when the federal government funded to put electricity in all rural areas.
Remember when Al Gore funded the Internet? I think the internet is pretty cool.
Of course, all these things happened before the Republicans started destroying our government.
I do remember when George H.W. Bush talked bout the Information SuperHighway.(I thought he was crazy) though I don't remeber it I know that JFK escalated The Veitnam war and LBJ made it legal for the gov. to rob our social security to pay for it and nobody especially Barry Obama whants to give it back to us. I do remeber when Bill Clinton cut our Military in half from 20 divisions to 10
Tell Newt Gingrich to tatoo 'Drill here! DRILL NOW!" ON HIS ASS!!!
You can drill until the cows come home, until we reign in the speculators (money changers) in New York, nothing is going to improve...Just constant B.S.
A better plan is for all citizens of the U.S. to convert to electric/hybrid vehicles. That way the speculators receive nothing. The financial institutions they work for receive nothing. And eventually the out of work speculators are working as Wal Mart Greeters...
Knowledge is Power..GAME OVER Freedoms Watch! copy the entire following quote and google it!!!!! "Because oil prices are determined on the international market, however, any impact on average wellhead prices is expected to be insignificant." Source: U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY (DOE)REPORT Published by Dana Van-Wagener Fight Ignorance! Fight False Propaganda! Fight Special Interest Fight Big Money funded brain-washing!! Be Informed!! Do your own research!!! Write your Congressman Now!
Now is the best time to put a dent in the oil and special interest lobbyist.
Start the revolution by zeroing in on all elected officials that pander to the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC),Freedoms Watch and to a lesser extent AIPAC. Watch the campaign donations from these groups and individuals from those groups. Now is the best time to crank up the heat on these people!!!! This issue needs to be on the front page of every newspaper and all news networks.
What does Dick Cheney, Sheldon Adelson, Hugo Chavez, Saudi Arabia and Israel know that you don't?
That the oil reserves in the Middle East are going dry...and eventually they will cut off the U.S. off so they can use that oil for themselves. The day that happens, the ability of Israel and the U.S. to wage war becomes limited by the amount of oil stored in the Strategic Reserve (2-3months)
Soooo the likelyhood of war with Iran, needs happen sometime soon. Wars will get MUCH more Expensive!!!
It's not just liberals. It's all of them. Democrats and Republicans. There are few politicians that really care on either side of the political spectrum. If we to fix anything, you have to be willing to support extreme change, not this small ineffective tinkering. None of these people want to change anything, they just want to keep the broken system running as long as possible before it falls in on itself.
Obama voted in support of FISA, a bill he said that he wouldn't support. The bill grants the government the right to listen in to phone conversations with out a warrant. It also grants immunity for telecom companies for cooperating with the feds. I don't support him, I don't support McCain, I supported Ron Paul, Kucinich, even Gravel. I've seen who the majority of Democrats and Republicans chose to represent their parties in the presidential election of 2004, and they still chose just as poorly.
I guess some people want to pay $10 per gallon, if it will let them post stupid comments about the other side. Why not spit in both party's eyes? The US should make hydrogen fuel cells a strategic initiative. None of this stupid hybrid crap the democrats are pushing, because that still relies on oil. And let the oil companies sell refined gasoline to Iraq. Hydrogen fuel cells would let us turn the clock back to 1973, when we told the ragheads to drink their oil.
The Global Projection of military power itself is at stake in this energy crisis. Do you think that Bin Laden and Saudi Arabia do not know this? They are biding their time until the opportuned moment... Thats when the game chips will be called-in...sorry U.S. we have no more oil to send your way..because WE are reserving that oil for our domestic and military use. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you Yanks have had plenty of time to think about this situation...U.S.-Israel loses war! GAME OVER!
I have lived in Texas and Oklahoma...plenty of Oil, just not as cheap as Saudi Oil. But perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye. Its part of the Strategic Plan of the United States to use foreign oil before our domestic reserves are tapped. Where do you think the oil comes from to fuel Hummers, F-16's, Tanks and Armored Personnel vehicles? The middle east! And when that supply runs dry..our ability to wage war will be shut down!
YOU FUCKIN DUMB ASS LIBERAL MORONS, we have enough petrol sources in our country, here, to power the US for well over a century. We have more than 2 TRILLION worth of oil! Your assertion that the oil companies have access to 36 million acres = .001% of the US a very tiny fraction of the US, and MOST OF THE LAND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRILLING, BECAUSE THERE IS NO OIL THERE, LIBERAL RETARDS! The common sense thing to do is to drill here, cut the price of gas by 2/3, add US jobs,& save the economy
Hey Sheyaebert: Who voted for Bush? Twice? I bet you bought their lies about weapons of mass destruction hook line and sinker, right? Who's the moron now?
...And Fucking Moron Republicans will fall for this shit. Note: OIL COMPANIES ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO OVER 36 MILLION ACRES OF LAND THEY CAN DRILL ON BUT REFUSE TO DO SO...WHY? SO THEY CAN FURTHER MANIPULATE THE PRICE OF OIL. YOU GULLIBLE FUCKHEAD REPUBLICAN FAGS NEED TO START READING BEFORE YOU FURTHER DESTROY OUR ONCE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY.
WARNING-Concentration Camps have been built in America!
WITHIN THE NEXT TWO YEARS THE US DOLLAR WILL BECOME ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. This will lead to justly enraged Americans that will attempt to revolt and restore Constitutional Government. In response to this eventuality, Traitors within the US government have built slave-labor/Concentration camps for Americans who dissent.
Hey folks...remember that "secret energy meeting" that Dick Cheney held at the very beginning of the Bush administration's first term (pre 9/11). I was just reminded of it while reading Scott McClellans book "What Happened"
Oh guess what else!!! Mel Sembler "Founding Funder" for Freedoms Watch established a defense fund for Scooter Libby, Cheneys chief of staff...
Does anyone here besides me believe that Freedoms Watch is just an proxy extension of Karl Roves Office of Strategic Initiatives?
The U.S. Government subsidizes Oil Companies for "Exploration". News Flash....they already have the Gulf of Mexico totally mapped out for oil reserves!!!! If the federal government so much as gives them one dime, we should call our elected representatives to launch a DOJ/GAO investigation and hang all of their supporters in Washington out to dry!!!
Let em Drill! Start with the Florida Gulf coast!! Ill bet my paycheck that the Republican Governor wont do it!!!
Cool...You guys at Freedoms Watch deleted my last text comment....must have struck a nerve with ya aye!!!
This video is a LIE to convince you that the Dems are doing nothing about gas prices.
The REAL truth is that even if you drill today, you wont see price relief for months to years. If you want relief NOW go after the Oil Futures and commodities market folks in NY.
OH, my bad they are funding Freedoms Watch and the Republican campaign!!!
I just watched C-Span. There was a vote to recognize the NCAA Womens Lacrosse Championship Team. Its nice to see how the Democrats in charge are so focused lowering the these gas prices.
It could be a coincidence that it all JUST happened to start when the Demo's took control and forced there terrible policies into law but I highly doubt it. And your childish claim that this is an "oil baron presidency" contradicts your argument. If Bush stole all the oil then why is it so expensive? Unless he gave it to his "oil buddies". Because the IRS is just SO bad at finding things like that.
If you elect an oil president and vice-president, then you're only going to get policies that the oil companies want: invade Iraq and drill in Wilderness areas.
Name the policy that caused the rise of oil prices. Which congressman wrote the bill? What are, in your opinion the actual causes that cause you to damn those Democrats and their high priced oil policies? Seriously, school me. If ya tell me then, I'll stand right beside you condemning ONLY the democrats and not BOTH, cuz I think they are one and the same, Demplubicans.
hey wtf why r u blaming liberals 4 the shit? u fucktard the republicans have bben fuckin up the country for the past 8 years! blame bushs war and policy
Typical -- blame it on the Democrats and not the guys who've been in power the last eight years. I hope the Simpsons sue your ass for copyright infringement.
Considering Conservatives want to drill our way out of low gas prices, we're fucked. Conservatives don't tax the oil companies so they're just going to mess around and get as many free passes as they want. Liberals want change when it comes to this mess with alternative energy.
drezorok, liberals want Change..change change I keep hearing the word Change ..would someone Just tell me & the rest of America What is the Change your all talking about...DETAILS in words beside One word CHANGE. Maybe it's living like the Amish , no electric, no machines, Horse & Carriages lots of Green Veggies...That's a Change.
Tax the oil companies? Just who do you think pays the tax? This liberal solution just means you and I pay more for gasoline - you think the president of Shell is going to take a pay cut because of your tax? If that's the best the libs can come up with, raise what I'm paying for the oil, then let the conservatives drill! But thanks for confirming that Reid, Pelosi & co could care less about what we pay for gas. I'll hold my nose and vote Rep before I vote for someone who wants me to pay more.
Toad, you're right. I wish things weren't so partisan and polarized. But, this video is a Republican lobbyists hit piece paid for by the oil companies with the sole intent to move public opinion.
I wish we could all work together, but we have to fight these Washington lobbyists from manipulating us.
If Bush proposed to drill in Anwar and put the proceeds into hydrogen research, I would be for it. But he only wants to drill.
One of the "Founding Funders" of Freedoms Watch, Mel Sembler, lives in Florida. Now, the Governor, Charlie Crist(R)is waffling on his endorsement for drilling in the Gulf (Florida Coast etc) Geee...I guess you cant have your cake (oil) and eat it too!!!
I say sink a big fat well 5 miles off the beach front where Sembler lives in Treasure Island. Ill provide the GPS coordinates in case you cant find it!!!!
This is just another attempt by Freedoms Watch to fool the American people(just the stupid ones). Go ahead and drill anywhere you want. The new oil will be available in a couple of years. Then everytime a hurricane hits the Gulf, the speculators will raise the price. End result, you are still paying $4+ a gallon. Oil companies will have a higher profit margin. Since oil is not regulated, the market DEMAND will determine the price not the SMALL additional SUPPLY.
Whaaaaa! greenpeace. Whaaaaaaa! the spotted owl. Whaaaaaa! the sage grouse. No drilling...Whaaaaa! No nuclear...Whaaaaa! Whaaaa! no new energy at all! Whaaaaa! global warming. Whaaaaaaa! I have a peanut allergy! Whaaaaaaaa!
Big Oil/bush/Cheney wanted to drill in Anwar but couldn't get their way. So, they've manipulated prices so that they'll sway people to want to do everything the oil companies want. We're being manipulated big time.
Things have been going downhill since Reagan. Don't blame the Dems. They just got in.
I'm not necessarily against drilling. I just don't like being manipulated by lobbyists like Freedom Watch, which is funded by the oil companies.
So you'd rather be manipulated by Reid/Pelosi who say they are for lower gas prices but act for higher ones? Look, I don't trust the Reps, but liars worry me. Libs seem to think the solution to everything is to raise taxes, as if only the rich and the oil companies have to pay them. Those taxes affect me, a poor working slob, and I'd rather the greedy oil companies made more money than I had to pay more taxes.
Why would Oil companies look for Oil where there might or might not be any when they KNOW where Oil is and about how much is there. They just need to be told its ok to Drill. Just because Congress gave them 65 Million Acers to EXPLORE for Oil do not mean there is any AVAILABE oil there.
What are you Smoking...or are you drinking Cool Aid? Pelosi and Reid are the Village Idiots and are only Interested in POWER of the office. They could care less about us paying for gas or trying to heat our homes next year. The entire Group of BUMS should be Voted OUT. Dems/Repubs all . Obama is a PHONEY! He says and Does what ever will get him a Vote...please REFRESHING my ASS!
Start thinking as a person NOT as a political party person.
The price will continue to go up until we drill, find alternative sources and send foreign countries a message that we can take care of ourselves but with the dems in charge, that means the government takes care of everything and they can't even manage Medicare or Social Security. So there you go. And Clinton did nothing after the 1993 World Trade Towers attack except try to go to court.
Over fifty times as much oil as might be under the Arctic Refuge at very high prices can be saved at very low prices by using oil efficiently. Also many times faster. So, let's drill in the Detroit formation. That is, making efficient cars is equivalent to finding an all-American Saudi Arabia under Detroit, about eight-and-a-half million barrels a day, inexhaustible, climate-safe and costing about twelve bucks a barrel. Democrats have been for fuel standards for years, Republicans oppose them.
The government should fund a Manhattan Project to help industry create a very cheap solar cell.
If we could manufacture cheap solar cells, we could supply most almost all of our electrical needs. Then we could drive electric cars and say goodbye to Arab oil.
Remember BEFORE the election in November,2006? When Bush was strong? 1) Consumer confidence stood at 2 1/2 yr high 2) Reg gas sold for $2.19/gal 3) Unemployment rate was 4.5% Since voting in a DEMOCRAT Pelosi-led Congress in November, 2006: 1) Consumer confidence plummets 2) Reg gas soars to over $4.00/gal 3) Unemployment up 5%(10% increase) 4) American households seen $2.3 Trillion equity value evaporate 5) Home equity drop by $1.2 Trillion 6) 1% all homes in foreclosure.
I heard a Wall Street commodity broker on the radio. He said that when trading went from open pit trading to the new electronic trading system that's when oil prices started to go up up up.
I thought I'd just throw that tid bit out.
Yeah, you can't blame the Dems. They've only been in 1 1/2 years and can't keep the GOP from fillibustering.
We need to get all the corrupted (by lobbyists ) Repubs and Dems OUT.
It's not just the Dems and Repubs fault. It's the lobbyists. Like Freedom Watch. Funded by oil companies. They just try to create division and polarization among us Americans so the Corporations can retain control
Carter had a plan to get us off foreign oil. When Reagan got in he threw it out. Result NO PLAN. We have gone from 25% dependence to well over 50% dependence on Arab oil.
Carter installed solar panels on the White House. What did Reagan do? He took them down.
Dems have proposed raising fuel efficiency standards many times over the years. What did GOP do? They blocked it.
Republicans have pushed de-regulation on us and their only plan is to drill. Starting in the early 90's, when Republican controlled congress, the energy and health care industries were de-regulated. This has lead to record cost increases to us consumers.
In 6 years under Bush gas went up .66¢. In 18 months under a demacraticly controlled congress it has gone up $1.99. If that is liberal victory I am all for defeat.
Sure they have a plan, the same one Jimmey Carter had, drive 55 and put on a sweater this winter. That is their world changing plan. I say let them have it. We had to suffer with Carter to get a Reagan, maybe history will repeat itself.
gas and oil prices were on a steady meteoric rise during the regressive retardiants one party rule for 6+ years and now, with a slim majority, the libs, took control of congress for only 1 and 1/2 years are to blame for skyrocketing gas and energy prices?
well, wanna know the truth? the secret energy meeting of dick back in 2001 and the enron loophole is all you need to know about the truth of gas and oil prices and record profits.
When Bush took office gas was $1.44 a gallon. After six years it was at $2.10 a gallon. In just 1 1/2 years of a dem congress gas has gone up to $4.09. The numbers don't lie.....own your disaster.
yeah, during the couple of months before the 2006 election, it magically went back down to $2.40 from close to $3 in my neck of the woods. this is dick and bush's last year in office, i say they gonna really sock it to us before they leave.
Debate class was right, weak arguments invoke personal attacks. Since you believe that the president has "powers" to lower gas prices at will, do you think Obama will lower gas prices if he gets into office? If Bush has the power, will Obama? Again, with your party in control (With the lowest all time approval ratings, even lower than Bush) gas has skyrocketed (I had to laugh at 66¢ qualifying as meteoric over a 6 year period) and you somehow want (cont)
pawn off your parties failure on the village idiot? I didn't vote for Bush, but I am no Kool Aid drinker. It happened on your parties watch and no amount ad hominem attacks will change that. Again, own your disaster.
enough with the fuzzy math. from $1.44 to $2.94 and back down to $2.40 two months before the 2006 election is not a .66c increase, genius.
the only reason this congress is got low approval rating is because those so called libs cave into bush's demands every single time. i'm personally disgusted with them!
with their slim majority, they got the power even bush the monkey, an oil man from texas, doesn't have, to rise gas price a whopping $2 bucks in 18 months? yeah, right!
When Bush took office gas was $1.44, when you friends took congress it was $2.10. Even if I grant 2.94 that is only $1.50 in six years. With your friends it has gone up. The offical price at the time they took office was $2.10, but I will use your $2.93. in just 18 months that have let gas climb $1.16! It took Bush and co nearly 6 years and your guys only 18 months. Now that is progress and change we can all not afford to believe in.
yeah, whatever. gas prices really starting going up around 2003. trust me, the libs 18months don't have anything to do with this current price jump. the fix was in with the policies and collusions set in motion long before the lib stepped in on january 2007!
if you believe the libs are to blame than i guess propaganda like this one put up by the oil lobby did it's job.
"i know...the monkey is never to blame according to all you low-infomation retards, right?"
Weaker the argument the stronger the words. Since the war was for oil, where is all the oil?
Also, did you protest Kosovo/Bosnia? Clinton went after a country that had no WMD, no threat to our national security. I was against going into Iraq, but when AQ turned Iraq into their Battlefront I got behind the effort. Remember AQ?
So, unless you protested Bosnia/Kosovo I really don't want to hear it (cont)
your moral outrage. All war is bad, unless a president is air striking villages in order to create a legacy for himself other than a stained blue dress. At least Bush had 3000 dead civilians motivating him to take action. In 93 when we were attacked by AQ with the first bombing of the WTC Clinton went straight to work to bring down terrorists, he issued arrest warrants. Talk about kick butt. Do you remember when Clinton and Gore campaigned agaist GHWB (cont)
3000 dead people in new york because bush sat on his hands with a thumb up his ass for 8 months while reports were coming in daily about terrorists wanting to use planes as missiles.
anyway you cut, orthdoxic bob, 9-11 didn't happen in clinton's 8 years, it happened under bush's watch. even more amazing, the daily terrorist warnings of those 8 months came with the full knowledge of the 93 wtc attack. sorry! the monkey doesn't get a pass on this one!
thats because Clinton was under the desk getting a Blow ...well you know the rest of that tale.If he was doing his job and not fighting off the Interns he might have taken Osama when the Arabs wanted to give him to Clinton...Clinton said Oh No. and took a pass.
Here he was given the opportunity to catch the Mass Murder and Clinton did nothing. Please at least know the History of what happened or did you read it in the NY Times.
whatever. i'm no big fan of clinton. clinton claims the blowjob witch hunt headed by the conservative blowhards distracted him from doing anything. who knows?: 2020 nhindsight.
but the fact still stands...9-11 happened during bush's watch and that he and his adminstration were warned and did absolutely nothing. another fact, after 7 years since the worst terrorist attack on american soil, the man responsible is still on the loose making videos and recuiting more terrorists!
This Country is knee deep in Problems and you want to keep blaming Bush...Great, he's been one of the worse Prsidents ever. Now take care of Todays problems This Country has to do everything to Get off Foreign Oil and Pelosi & Reid are standing in the way. We as Citizens can not let this continue. Mojo, act like your American First..not a political party. They don't care if we all freeze or go to the poor house trying to heat our homes. They care about POWER and Keeping it.
yeah, 8 years of nothing but bad news coming from this adminstration...ya notice that? and when i see bush up there not taking any responsiblity at all for the sad state of the country and the world while trying to lay blame on the libs, i see fuckin' RED!!!
yeah, let say big oil can start drilling wherever and whenever right this second, you think at the price rate we're going, we can wait 10 years before we see any oil at all? it'll still be big oil's oil and will be sold at market prices.
anyway, big oil hasn't even begun exploring for oil on land already leased for that purpose. i mean, come on, why should they? high oil prices mean good business for them. no?
Clinton tried to do something, and assholes like you were crying wag the dog, such short memory has always been the bane of you repugnant liars.Repugnants impeach over a blowjob, but not over being lied into war.
blair227 don't be a typical liberal..Try to live in the Present...this Country needs Oil to keep going. I'm not a Democrat & I'm Not Republican. I don't care about Bush or Clinton. I'm American & I care about My Country.Americans are getting Hosed by All of the Idiots in DC while they Fly on Private Jets(paid by You & Me)Pelosi/Reid care only about the Power they "think" they have & Holding on to it!DRILL NOW DRILL HERE. We need to Vote them ALL OUT OF OFFICE!
We have followed the Republican bullshit policies for the last 30 years! And look where it's gotten us. Record Debt. Jobs Offshored. Record Dependence on Arab oil. War.
We need to get ALL the Republicans out and all the sell out Dems who are corrupted by Oil Lobbyists like Freedom Watch.
Whauck your Still looking to BLAME Some One ...your target is Republicans! Get Over It. Focus on the Problem....now target in on Energy...(still with me Whauck)we need Oil to live TODAY & Tomorrow. We need Rebate & Tax Credits & government giving a percentage to change to other forms of Energy. Wind, Solar,Geothermal & Drill Here Drill American OIL. If we did ALL This it will Get us Independent of Foreign Oil FOREVER!
How Does that Sound for CHANGE? ! Damm GREAT To me.
Danes, if you don't try to understand the mistakes of our past, we'll never be able to solve any problems. I'm not trying to blame. I'm just stating a fact that the Republican policies have been a disaster and we've got to change.
The fact is, the government hasn't done anything for the last 30 years in regards to energy, since they threw out Carters plan. Reagan threw out Carter's plan and now we're screwed.
Our first step should be to get all of the lobbyists out of Washington.
How about this? The fucking oil companies refine at 100% capacity instead of the 80% under Bush. How about Detroit making more economical cars? Bush knew a war in Iraq would de-stabelize the mid east and explode the oil market. This is not the fault of anyone but Dumbya and the crony capitalists who are getting rich at our expense.Bomb K-street and the price will go down tomorrow.
It's nice to see someone who isn't spouting one party line or the other, someone who can think rather than parroting. If we used less oil, prices would go down, the power of the ragheads would go down, the power of Venezuela would go down, and Congress could find something else to bicker over. Hydrogen fuel cells and deploymerization of waste are two technologies I think could make this country, whereas the partisan bickering will break us. I wish people wanted solutions more than their team win
Keep drinking the dumbya kool-aid you ignorant dumbass,I really don't give a fuck about what you say or believe. This crisis is Dumbya's and the Repikes problem not the dems.
Never said Iraq was. If you actually read what I wrote you would see I was against going into Iraq. But he, when AQ shows up to kill your troops, then you kill them where you find them.
bosnia/kosovo, however wrong it was, it didn't cause an unstable situtation in an oil producing region of the world and end up costing trillions and 4000+ american lives. exactly, there was no AQ before we went in there. and where the fuck is all that oil, you ask? by keeping that iraq oil off the market you have tighter supply, no?...figure that out, genius.
Okay, so we know you didn't protest Bosnia/Kosovo, so you are selective with you moral outrage.
Maybe we keep the Iraq oil off the market is because it is Iraq's oil and not ours. Sorry to ruin a good conspiracy.
3000 Americans had their lives taken from them. 4000+ willingly gave their lives to prevent it from ever happening again. Repeat after Reid "This war is lost, this war is lost" and tow the party line with Fienstein/Boxer, the surge is a success thanks to Iran.
Libs say that all the oil we will bring in by drilling domestically won't lower gas prices one bit. But, then they turn around and wat to sue OPEC into producing more oil. Now, explain how if we bring it in it won't change a thing, but if OPEC drills for more it will bring relief. If all the drilling we do doesn't make a difference, then way not just shut down all domestic drilling see it doesn't affect anything.
Repubs agree, we need to get on alternative forms of energy. But, we need to something to hold us over and keep our economy going until we reach that point. Do these people think Obama will just wave his hand and like magic we will have clean energy? I mean, I know that he is the Messiah and all, but what plans does he have? Again, why don't libs start paying 300 million for research and labs to find this magical energy alternative instead of making stupid commercials.
Because its not about saving energy, its about destroying America. Communism, destroying the American economy one environmental legislation at a time.
Also, I was amused on 7/11 with the amount of Obama supporters with the t-shirts and stickers at the apple store. They keep crying that the economy is in a recession. I would never have known seeing all these libs dropping 200-300 dollars a pop for the new Iphone (which I own, but I am a greedy capatalist). I told them as I walked out of the store that tomorrow it was back to the party platform. The economy is bad andAmericans are greedy becuase if they said it today no one would believe them.
Isn't amazing what the PR departments of the multinational oil companies can buy? They can buy a name like "freedomswatch"; they can pretend that they're a "grassroots" group; they can pretend that drilling or "gas tax holidays" will actually lower the price of gas rather than merely give them more profits; they can buy congress and put their guy in the oval office; they ca kill gov. R&D on alternative fuels, making the U.S. medieval relative to the rest of the world. Ah, they're the best.
Who funds all the environmental groups? Gore spent $10M on the new black and white commercials that cost $300M. Who picked up the other $290M? People don't drop that much money unless they stand to profit. They didn't invest $300M into a research lab to create alternative energy, and its not because they couldn't find a few researchers who could use a cool $300M. Communism, destroying America 1 environmental law at a time.
Cut taxes? We're in Trillions of $ in debt and getting worse each second, & your solution is to Reduce Revenue? Borrow and spend is worse than tax and spend.
We need to raise revenue.
During the Eisenhower administration, the rich paid 91% on income and corporations paid 35% of all taxes. Now corporations pay 7% of all taxes. I say, let's go back to a balanced budget where the rich pay their fair share for the benefits they have derived from this great country of ours.
wow, so because someone is more successful than you we should tax them more? corporations create jobs so liberals like you dont have to collect foodstamps / welfare etc.. i am growing sick of this liberal communism crap.. we are capitalists if you want communism move to china otherwise stop crying about what the rich have or pay in taxes
wow.. impressive.. but correct me if im wrong, which I can be from time to time.. But I do believe a corporation is an entity in which you can own shares of not the actual corporation its self.. but ya anyway.. for someone who pretends to know what they are typing about.. lowering taxes encourages job growth while raising taxes causes companies to cut spending "which includes cutting jobs".. Hell if i had to pay more I'd cut jobs too
Dear danesaregreat- Before you comment on others finishing or not finishing school, you might want to learn how to spell. Just for your further edification, it's "juvenile" not "juvenal" as you spelled it. Typical.
BTW, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who are closet Repugs make me sick too.
danesaregreat's comment struck a nerve with you, I've debated liberals a long time it's the same absence of truth, using talking points two weeks to old unwilling to verify the facts given them and when painted into a corner with facts they lash out deflect
in personal attacks criticize spelling, typos as though it really means something, we're in trouble and we need to know the truth about whose policies got us here and the motivations behind them so we won't make the same mistake again.
I'm fine with the alternate energy, anything to get USA independent and away from foreign oil. But doing that tommorrow is not realistic, they need more developement. In the meantime, just saying we will drill will bring the prices down, as OPEC gets the message we are on the road to independence and their days of taking advantage of US are numbered. Foreign oil is loving our confusion and our money.
Whauck, the real problem is NOT lobbyists... they're exercising their right to communicate
with govt. The problem is too much govt.
Let's cut taxes, social spending, shrink the govt, take their power back to the People/local govt, get Fairtax enacted, drill ANWR and off the coast, go get some of that oil shale, then just step back and watch us prosper! :-)
Keep on with your brain-washed, doctrinare "thinking." I found out long ago there's no point to trying to have intelligent discourse with right-wingers. This is no exception. Adios.
As I said, I worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory for the Solar Energy Division, which was disbanded (no, I am not a disgruntled former employee-I retired in 1993) as a result of Reagan & his congress wanting bigger and better bombs instead of alternative energy. That's my truth.
Reagan and his Congress? Nice try, Tip O'Neill was the Speaker of the House during Reagan's term as president for the uninitiated that means Democrat controlled Congress. suenoel I think you're shining our apple or suffer a serious history deficiency, personally I think you're a teenager you certainly sound like one. Oh by the way, I'm a retired king spook from the CIA. ;)
I'm for alternatives in energy we plan to build a monolithic Dome home super energy-efficient construction technique w/ geothermal, solar but don't care about saving the planet "A Scam" I'm concerned with energy affordability, independence and national security, don't want our enemies putting a lock on gas pumps. Research, develop new technologies but we need oil, natural gas and coal until then. Energy independence is the only way to go and we can do it while preserving our standard of living.
The dems have been in charge of this mess and now they don't want the credit. Drill for oil in our own country, use our own alternative energy choices and quit using corn to pollute the environment. By the way my sister in-law just broke one of those curly-q bulbs this weekend and the fire dept had to come out and clean it up. Give me a break. Elect more dems and you'll get more of this. Fact.
If you think you'll get away with blaming the mess caused by Repugs on the Dems you must really think the public is totally stupid. Maybe they are because they watch Fox and listen to you. You won't be happy until every beautiful thing is destroyed for your greed. There have not been billions for alternative energy-only for the oil barons and their cohorts. I worked for LANL for the solar energy division until Reagan & his congress got rid of all the funding starting in 1981. It's geothermal.
Wow you people are a piece of work. do you really think you can blame this on the DEms? You're all a bunch of criminals, especially you people at Freedom's Watch. You won't be happy until every beautiful place is destroyed for your greed and profit. Billions have NOT been poured into alternative energy-only to the oil robber-barons. You people need a history lesson, but you don't listen to or believe the truth.
Of which "truth" do you speak? Your "truth" or the truth of reality? In 2007 BP tapped the University of California Berkeley, the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for a new public-private alternative fuel research program. Over the next 10 years BP will spend $500MM. That's half a billion right there. In 2004 the US DOE awarded a $736MM grant to ISU to research alternative fuels. It is you who needs a lesson. In reality.
Yes, libs dump 300 million into black and white commercials talking about the environment. Why didn't you guys invest 300 million into research into alternative energy? You couldn't find a lab with researchers willing to accept 300 million dollars? You people have done nothing to reach the goal, and all you want to do is blame big oil. Republicans are the party of bad ideas, Dem's are the party of no ideas.
Suenoel...how old are You? Have you even gotten out of school yet? If you have been paying attention The Democrats ARE the Problem! Harry Reid and Pelosi are the "Village Idiots" . Grow Up and Get into the REAL WORLD. Your comments are juvenal.
If you want to demonize something preface it with the word "BIG" this is the liberal codeword for evil, whether you like it or not we are an oil based economy at least for the present, domestic continental production has been slashed for the past 30 years almost everything around you comes from petroleum, you would bite the hand that feeds you economically speaking, alternatives are not ready to take the load oil production must increase it's common sense.
I don't hear them calling for taxing winfall profits of Big Google. Google has made billions of dollars, yet, we don't hear class envy libs calling for their profits to be seized to pay for free internet for the low working class american. No, Google is a liberal orginization so their greed is good.
Bingo Robert! Big Ben & Jerry's? How about BIG Michael Moore and his unholy profits? All the while castigating the capitalist free-market system that enriched him. How many of these people never use petroleum products I wonder, we all know the answer to that question Speaker Nancy wasn't content with the private jets the previous speaker of the House had used she requested and received the deluxe model bigger faster and greater range more luxury and we are paying for it. Can you say hypocrisy?
You didn't mention the Executive branch. They "don't Give a Rats ASS what happens to you as long as they still HAVE POWER!!!"
Would you recommend to vote them out as well?
By the way, what did you think about when the Republicans blocked minimum fuel mileage standards? Or when Bush imposed a moratorium on Solar Power proposals?

Gas Prices R Skyrocketing Under Obama: Oil futures is just that, futures market. Price-per-barrel spikes oil this week have not affected domestic market yet. Iin face former Shell Oil Pres John Hofmeister predicted in Dec 2010, America would face $5/gal gas by 2012, a full month before the revolution in Egypt began. At the end of Bush’s two terms in office, prices were 9% lower than when he took office. The day before Obama was inaugurated average price of a gal was $1.83.

Let's reprocess our nuclear waste like Japan and Europe do too - They don't have a massive problem that needs the Nevada storage thing, their old fuel becomes new fuel and not waste. We need more clean nuke power, our own oil, gas and coal. Then we can work on the other stuff.

Write/call your Representative about this!!!

Is disco coming back too?

In 1980 Congress passed then President Carter's Energy Security act, that autorized the creation of the Synthetic Fuels Corporation (SFC), which was tasked to creat 2 million barrels of Synthetic oil a day within seven years. Congress gave them $88 billion in loans to help them. Oppec then decided it didn't like the compitition and lowered the price of Oil from $37 per barrel to $14 per Barrel. Since synthetic fuels cost more that $14 to make, the program was shut down six years later. Opec wins
Brewtal69 3 years ago
The price of a barrel of oil is going down because the speculators see Americans increasingly putting pressure on congress to remove the ban on offshore drilling as the president has done first. More supply will always drive the markets down. It's basic. It will come down even more when there is proof we will quit relying on foreign countries for our energy. China can drill off Florida's coast thanks to Cuba, but we're too stupid to use new technologies to extract our own. Ignorance galore.

Go after the Money Changers and Oil Speculators and the prices will drop!!!
OperationTailGunner 3 years ago
The critical peice of information that you're all missing is that in 2005 that single largest importer of oil to the United states to the tune of 596 billion barrels and mexico was number two at a close 568 Billion barrels. Proof that there is plenty of oil in the western hemisphere we just need the ability to find it. Is't it amazing how mere hrs after Bush urges congress to lift the ban on drilling the prices per barrel start to drop
Brewtal69 3 years ago
The reason the price dropped was because it was overinflated to start with. Now the speculators are caught in the crosshairs. Time to turn up the volume and crash their party!
OperationTailGunner 3 years ago
In 1973 Opec placed an embargo on the US and over a three month span the price per barrel jumped from $3.00 to $11.00. In after a 267% increase Nixon started "Project Independance"he said " Let this be our national goal : At ther end of the decade, in the year 1980, Th U.S. will not be dependant on anyother country energy we need to provide jobs, to heat our homes, and to keep our transportation moving" directly after Opec Lifted their embargo.suddenly independance wasn't a priority anymore.

Brewtal69,
I Know, I lived through that period of American history.
OperationTailGunner 3 years ago
The Embargo was placed on us as retaliation for our support of Isreal during thier war with Egypt. It worked the Embargo produced a panic insided the US and the Prices skyrocketed.. The Imagined shortage I'm sure you'll remember caused rationing. It is a fact that The US in 2008 has a klarger supply of oil in reserve than all of the Opec nations combined.

Thanks, Freedom's Watch!

Brewt, what do you propose? Let the oil companies run the government, like they are now?
On another note, take a look at a chart of oil futures. You'll see that when Bush got elected that's when the price of oil starts spiking.
However, in early 2007, the price accelerates and volume increases significantly.
That corresponds to when NYMEX switched from an open pit trading system to a new electronic trading system.

If the oil companies get their way, they'll obtain rights to drill in new places such as off shore and Wilderness areas.
This will ensure their control and profitability far into the future.
Oil prices will go down, alternative energy will die because it won't be able to compete with the new low oil prices.
And we'll be hooked on gas for the next 50 years like a bunch of suckers.
You won't even know what hit you, because they'll be talking about Obama getting a blow job or something.

GAME OVER!

Freedoms Watch..keep promoting LIES Good Job!!!!

So your saying 7 years of an Oil Baron Presidency had nothing to do with high gas prices. Look up Enron loop hole. You are only half right.
franknyt 3 years ago

Considering Conservatives want to drill our way out of low gas prices, we're fucked. Conservatives don't tax the oil companies so they're just going to mess around and get as many free passes as they want. Liberals want change when it comes to this mess with alternative energy.

Change would be enacting policies based on sound studies conducted by experts in the field, and hiring the best people to do the job.
Contrast that with enacting policies that are based on ideology and politics for the highest bidder, and hiring people who are political cronies.
Heck of a job Brownie.
whauck 3 years ago

If Bush proposed to drill in Anwar and put the proceeds into hydrogen research, I would be for it. But he only wants to drill.

OperationTailGunner 3 years ago
This is just another attempt by Freedoms Watch to fool the American people(just the stupid ones). Go ahead and drill anywhere you want. The new oil will be available in a couple of years. Then everytime a hurricane hits the Gulf, the speculators will raise the price. End result, you are still paying $4+ a gallon. Oil companies will have a higher profit margin. Since oil is not regulated, the market DEMAND will determine the price not the SMALL additional SUPPLY.
Target the SPECULATORS instead!

I just don't like being manipulated by lobbyists like Freedom Watch, which is funded by the oil companies.
whauck 3 years ago
So you'd rather be manipulated by Reid/Pelosi who say they are for lower gas prices but act for higher ones? Look, I don't trust the Reps, but liars worry me. Libs seem to think the solution to everything is to raise taxes, as if only the rich and the oil companies have to pay them. Those taxes affect me, a poor working slob, and I'd rather the greedy oil companies made more money than I had to pay more taxes.
toadbrooks 3 years ago
Why would Oil companies look for Oil where there might or might not be any when they KNOW where Oil is and about how much is there. They just need to be told its ok to Drill. Just because Congress gave them 65 Million Acers to EXPLORE for Oil do not mean there is any AVAILABE oil there.

The price will continue to go up until we drill, find alternative sources and send foreign countries a message that we can take care of ourselves but with the dems in charge, that means the government takes care of everything and they can't even manage Medicare or Social Security. So there you go. And Clinton did nothing after the 1993 World Trade Towers attack except try to go to court.
mrmdmm 3 years ago
Over fifty times as much oil as might be under the Arctic Refuge at very high prices can be saved at very low prices by using oil efficiently. Also many times faster. So, let's drill in the Detroit formation. That is, making efficient cars is equivalent to finding an all-American Saudi Arabia under Detroit, about eight-and-a-half million barrels a day, inexhaustible, climate-safe and costing about twelve bucks a barrel. Democrats have been for fuel standards for years, Republicans oppose them.

Dems have proposed raising fuel efficiency standards many times over the years. What did GOP do? They blocked it.

When Bush took office gas was $1.44 a gallon. After six years it was at $2.10 a gallon. In just 1 1/2 years of a dem congress gas has gone up to $4.09. The numbers don't lie.....own your disaster.

what you think of that, genius?
MojoJuana 3 years ago
"what you think of that, genius?"
Debate class was right, weak arguments invoke personal attacks. Since you believe that the president has "powers" to lower gas prices at will, do you think Obama will lower gas prices if he gets into office? If Bush has the power, will Obama? Again, with your party in control (With the lowest all time approval ratings, even lower than Bush) gas has skyrocketed (I had to laugh at 66¢ qualifying as meteoric over a 6 year period) and you somehow want (cont)

enough with the fuzzy math. from $1.44 to $2.94 and back down to $2.40 two months before the 2006 election is not a .66c increase, genius.
the only reason this congress is got low approval rating is because those so called libs cave into bush's demands every single time. i'm personally disgusted with them!
with their slim majority, they got the power even bush the monkey, an oil man from texas, doesn't have, to rise gas price a whopping $2 bucks in 18 months? yeah, right!
MojoJuana 3 years ago
When Bush took office gas was $1.44, when you friends took congress it was $2.10. Even if I grant 2.94 that is only $1.50 in six years. With your friends it has gone up. The offical price at the time they took office was $2.10, but I will use your $2.93. in just 18 months that have let gas climb $1.16! It took Bush and co nearly 6 years and your guys only 18 months. Now that is progress and change we can all not afford to believe in.
OrthodoxRobert 3 years ago
yeah, whatever. gas prices really starting going up around 2003. trust me, the libs 18months don't have anything to do with this current price jump. the fix was in with the policies and collusions set in motion long before the lib stepped in on january 2007!

Now, explain how if we bring it in it won't change a thing, but if OPEC drills for more it will bring relief. If all the drilling we do doesn't make a difference, then way not just shut down all domestic drilling see it doesn't affect anything.

Do these people think Obama will just wave his hand and like magic we will have clean energy? I mean, I know that he is the Messiah and all, but what plans does he have? We need to raise revenue. We can't keep cutting government or we'll keep heading towards a third country like we are now.
It is better to tax the rich because they can afford it.
By the way, I own two corporations so don't knee jerk call me a communist.
I believe in Free Market. That's why corporation should Stop Getting Subsidized by our tax dollars.

wow.. impressive.. but correct me if im wrong, which I can be from time to time..

Now, adios.

danesaregreat's comment struck a nerve with you, I've debated liberals a long time it's the same absence of truth, using talking points two weeks to old unwilling to verify the facts given them and when painted into a corner with facts they lash out deflect
in personal attacks criticize spelling, typos as though it really means something, we're in trouble and we need to know the truth about whose policies got us here and the motivations behind them so we won't make the same mistake again.

The real problem with Washington is the lobbyists. The are writing all of the legislation and controlling congress.
whauck 3 years ago
Whauck, the real problem is NOT lobbyists... they're exercising their right to communicate
with govt. The problem is too much govt.
Let's cut taxes, social spending, shrink the govt, take their power back to the People/local govt, get Fairtax enacted, drill ANWR and off the coast, go get some of that oil shale, then just step back and watch us prosper! :-)

What's wrong with bigger and better bombs? I suppose you'd be happier with smaller bombs and us all carrying the q'aran.

"Coal makes us sick. Oil makes us sick." Harry Reid makes me sick!!

That's my truth.
suenoel 3 years ago

Fact.
mrmdmm 3 years ago 2
If you think you'll get away with blaming the mess caused by Repugs on the Dems you must really think the public is totally stupid. Maybe they are because they watch Fox and listen to you. You won't be happy until every beautiful thing is destroyed for your greed. There have not been billions for alternative energy-only for the oil barons and their cohorts. I worked for LANL for the solar energy division until Reagan & his congress got rid of all the funding starting in 1981. It's geothermal.
suenoel 3 years ago
Wow you people are a piece of work. do you really think you can blame this on the DEms? You're all a bunch of criminals, especially you people at Freedom's Watch. You won't be happy until every beautiful place is destroyed for your greed and profit. Billions have NOT been poured into alternative energy-only to the oil robber-barons. You people need a history lesson, but you don't listen to or believe the truth.
suenoel 3 years ago
Of which "truth" do you speak? Your "truth" or the truth of reality? In 2007 BP tapped the University of California Berkeley, the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for a new public-private alternative fuel research program. Over the next 10 years BP will spend $500MM. That's half a billion right there. In 2004 the US DOE awarded a $736MM grant to ISU to research alternative fuels. It is you who needs a lesson. In reality.
captwasabi 3 years ago 3

Your comments are juvenal.
danesaregreat 3 years ago 2

OrthodoxRobert 3 years ago 3
Bingo Robert! Big Ben & Jerry's? How about BIG Michael Moore and his unholy profits? All the while castigating the capitalist free-market system that enriched him. How many of these people never use petroleum products I wonder, we all know the answer to that question Speaker Nancy wasn't content with the private jets the previous speaker of the House had used she requested and received the deluxe model bigger faster and greater range more luxury and we are paying for it. Can you say hypocrisy?
Cryptologist101 3 years ago
Pelosi, Reid and Obama...they are the Problem. Global Warming is a SCAM for "CONTROL OVER YOU".
Wake UP and Fight Back . Scream and tell them to stop the Political Games that are putting all of us in the Poor House.
Remember Folks, these people Fly on Private Jets( paid by you) and they don't Give a Rats ASS what happens to you as long as they still HAVE POWER!!!
Take Back the Power and VOTE them ALL OUT!
danesaregreat 3 years ago 5
You didn't mention the Executive branch. They "don't Give a Rats ASS what happens to you as long as they still HAVE POWER!!!"
Would you recommend to vote them out as well?
By the way, what did you think about when the Republicans blocked minimum fuel mileage standards? Or when Bush imposed a moratorium on Solar Power proposals?
