  • dwill1967 is rigth ! This is just a demonstration, because you can read many science article that prove that maximum weigth lifting is so much better for endurance et power than the exercice is doing on the video

  • If I hear that "weight training can be harmful to a child's natural growth" (o.e.) one more time, I'm going to self destruct.

  • @jonisginger

not you, weight lifting children are selfdestructing...

  • i think that in his early stage with doug frost he focused on the number of reps with less weight cause he was swimming for the 200 400 and 800 so he needed to be as light as possible while being as strong as possible so he can use a lot of energy for a long time while in his later years and now that he's back he'll use a lot more weight and do less reps so he builds up muscle mass for sprinting cause he'll be focusing on the 100

    lol it's explained in the vid 1:31 - 1:45

  • Im pretty sure those are baby weights as compared to what he REALLY uses in a real workout, these are just demonstrations cause no one would make a video on how to win

  • wtf is up with his form

  • @bigsneakywolf lol at this idiot questioning an olympic champion, go back to bodybuilding fken roid faggot

  • @goestyou dude, calm down. I am by no means questioning what this man has achieved and if any one does they are as you said , a "faggot". Perhaps i could have worded my previous comment better, i was mearly sayig that i personally thought is form was different to what i have ben tuaght, again though i am not questioning this mans achievements and cleary, the way he was training worked form him. Sorry for any offense

  • lol look st his thighs at 0:57

  • he's a swimmer not a bodyduilder

  • Worst workout video ever....

  • Looks pretty soft considering he's a world class swimmer.

  • @terramar111 hes a wsimmer...not a bodybuilder/fitness model. most top swimmers are built like this: fat intercalted in muscle, soft look. Low body fat is not necesarry for swimming...(under 8-9%)

  • YAWN

  • i get tips for my training in the gym, thanks

  • thats an ok video but it kinda needs someone better like michael phelps or something

  • Wow that's an ugly streamline at the start.

  • It was textile, otherwise speedo would have produced suits like jaded ore blue seventy 8 years ago as answer

  • Ian is a swimming pro not a pro lifting so his form is going to suck when lifting cut him a break

  • the most gorgeous guy in the universe... :)

  • no then they wouldnt say that the LZR was the best suit speedo ever made and far better than the ones used in athens

  • @swfearth

     Nice grammar and spellin', innit...

  • @sunlight.. meh thats becuz English is not my first language? still the fact that Thorpe won because of the suit . yeah i know its kinda upsetting right since Thorpe is your god

  • God, yeah! Those silky thighs, those firm breasts... Oh, hang on... thought this was Rebecca Adlington's video...

  • heh u know i some how your sarcasm doesn't work lol as many people question if he is gay or not, and your gay comment fits right in .. oh wait..

  • Ha ha! Nice one, you da man! :D

  • @swfearth : Hmm. Thorpe won the worlds in a speedo...

  • even if he is demonstrating, he should demonstrate good technique....when he's bench pressing, he's locking his elbows. doing sit-ups, he lays flat on the ground and waits a second. gah it annoys me.

  • @pipeline3609

Totally agreed. He demonstrates really bad form here. Doesn't keep muscle-tension in a slow smooth controlled motion, but just pushes through until stretched.. I can't believe that's for real.

  • @gwargk Yeah. Even if he's using light weight. If his form's like that with light weight, I wonder what it's like with heavy weight.....hah demonstration my ass.

  • actually the sport that involves most muscles in a human body is cross country (or nordic) skiing. It's a fact

  • hehe,show us please.

  • nop

  • Cross Country running? What? No way...

  • @ ps2monster: not "running", but "skiing"

  • How do you determine how many sets and how often to perform these exercises?

  • a personal trainer .. he takes ur weight ur height ur everything , and then he gives u special exercises :)

  • depends what phase u are in

  • look how flexible his elbows are!

  • who the fuck are you to make a comment like that

  • These moves are for the camera. Notice no sweating going on. In real life Thorpy used a lot more weight and intensity. He's really just demonstrating here. AND keeping things very Health and Safety, cos he used to do some crazy things with dumbells duplicating swimming strokes, which would probably rip most untrained people's shoulders from their sockets. A lot of modified pec deck stuff too. Remedial high rep strength in the pool with pads as well. You don't give away winning secrets!

  • i was gonna say. 25 single rows? i'm 128 and i can do that. lol. yea. you're right.

  • @dwill1967 then how do you know them?

  • why?

  • he needs to breathe

  • Excellent video to use in one of my classes. Thanks.

  • THe one arm row looked pretty retardded, he pulled in a straight line, your elbows meant to shift back till its parralell with your lat.

  • just ordinary exercises and with no speed and no weight. he should used the freemotion machine more and done some more functional exercises.

  • i am pretty sure the exercises he did made him one of the best swimmers in the world, and near unbeatable until phelps came along

  • yeah! .it really help thanks man.

  • khavelkova great job!!! this videos are really really useful

  • thanks :-)

  • @rokrakl
