  • Ryan Hall is still fastest American Half Marathon record Holder.

  • Comment removed

  • simple the best.

  • i can't stop watching his right foot strike, looks painful....but whatever can't say shit when HE'S running under hour half marathons!!

  • @rdaines1 most coaches would hate his form... heel striking, shoulders moving, head bobbing everywhere. But it seems to work for him

  • i dont know what the heck is goin on with my left hear

  • holy ballsack batman

  • Thanks Zerisenai THE WORLD RECORD HOLDER for half maraton you made us proud.ERI is #1.

  • these guys are awesome, but don t ask them to play football or to play hockey. 90% of the time, they're are only good at running

  • 1:08 for the women, really good!

  • 1.03 I'd really get irritated if a car would chase me so close behind me

  • they don't sprint the final meters, they sprint on all the distance O.o

  • @sm4llbit shut up. if you think you're so smart then why don't you try distance running... yeah, we don't sprint the whole distance idiot

  • @sm4llbit Dude sorry... I don't know what I was thinking when I responded to your comment like that. I was just mad becuase I am the fastest runner at my school and people were always accusing me of "sprinting" each race, which I wasn't, and it just really bothered me. So sorry to take out all of my anger on you, will you forgive me?

  • @SlighterFacility While Tadese is not even close to sprinting the guy you responded to is correct...in a manner of speaking.

For the average person, Tadese's pace would be a sprint FOR THEM. 100m at that pace would be 16.75 seconds, and a 400m sprint at that pace would be 67 second pace. The average person grabbed at random from the population doesn't have a chance in hell at a 67 second 400 and probably not 16.75 100m.

Distance runners aren't sprinting, but top ones pace is a sprint to most.

  • is it just me or is his cadence unusually super high?

  • @huyiy

His cadence is "unusually super high". Between 1:20 and 1:40, I counted 35 strides, which would equate to 105 strides per minute. He keeps roughly the same pace throughout this video and seemingly the entire race. As I'm sure you know, 90 strides a minute is an average among professionals.

  • @THEEVANTHETOON If i may ask, where did you get that info? Because Im trying to find the most efficient running pace myself but cant seem to find any information about it. Im a 800m runner, so do you think 105 strides per minute also applies to 800m runners or only long-distance runners?

  • @MySonOfSam Don't stress about it, ideal cadence varies greatly from runner to runner. Some people like Tadese here have a very high cadence of 210, whereas other great runners like Lawi Lalang have a lower cadence of less than 180.

Cadence is really only an issue if your cadence is extremely low and your "jumping"/"hopping" between strides.

  • @THEEVANTHETOON HA! no its not they do roughly 32 every ten seconds....

  • @qweasd123932 From 3:10-3:30 his left foot strikes the ground 34 times. Considering 30 would be "standard" that's extremely high cadence.

  • nice video from this marathon and Makau win on my channel

    * NEW !!! *

    /watch?v=jLcBeq0j0us

    /watch?v=jLcBeq0j0us

    thx 4 watching!

  • I don't know this language - Was this a 20 km, or a half-marathon?

  • @joshtube9 half-marathon.

  • Hmm, he just broke my 1K record... 21 times in a row =D

  • Interesting fact: Tadese used to be a really good cyclist before taking up running.

  • the guy is tired, get the fuck off him and let him breath!

  • In case ya missed it..his splits were..

    5k 13:55

    10k 27:53

    15k 41:31

    20k 55:18

    sick!

  • @dazeeman It's just unbelievable. From 10k to 20k he does 27:25, which is faster than his first 10k, and just over 1 minute slower than the world record on 10000m, hahaha insaaane

  • Zerisenay one of the best Eritren anbesa

  • what kind of flats is he wearing???

  • @zerogravityskater12 Nike katana racer

  • zersenay my friend yak, how much money did he win anyway's cinquenta mil euros is that how much they won??

  • @hermonnw1

It takes an athlete with SPEED, talent, will power & determination to beat the competition.

Therefore, if you have one, join the competition.

If you ain't got none, give credit to those who proved to the world they are special breed & can beat the odds.

    TELL ME IT AIN'T SO????

CONGRATULATIONS TADESSE, YOU PROVED WHAT IT TAKES TO BE WORLD CLASS ATHLETE!!!

  • @BahreNeGash huh, WTF you trying 2 say??? all this shit coz i asked how much money he won lol

  • @BahreNeGash

Do you mean this how you ask "zersenay my friend yak"?

Have you EVER considered the motivation for being athlet, besides "how much money did he win anyway's cinquenta mil euros is that how much they won?

But, what made you think "Zersenay" is RUNNING for money?

HOW ABOUT ZERESENAY IS JUST ENJOYING THE SPORT, MAKING SOMETHING WORTHY IN HIS LIFE?

How about Zeresany making name for himself & his people ALL OVER THE WORLD, proving GLORY & PRESTIGE of being a winner?

  • @hermonnw1 Dude, he makes mad money just to show up at an event like this. Plus a bonus for the WR and of course the first place check. I doubt he does it just for the money, but its there at that level.

  • @tadaa11 yeah that's sick, but i doubt they pay him just 2 show up.

  • @hermonnw1 After these guys win an event they get paid just to show up the next year. they also get paid to show up at other events in the same year. When you break the world record everyone wants you to show up at their event. Marathons is where the money is. Haile gets like hundreds of thousands of dollars to show up.

  • @tadaa11 aight that's cool. zersenay must be the richest man in eritrea then.

  • he looks a bit like bruno mars

  • Zersenayyyyyyyyyyyy JEGNA! ANBESSAAAA

  • I would be seriously pissed off if there was a guy in a motorcycle in front of me ruining my oxygen supply

  • I wish I could run like this guy..... just for one mile lol

  • does anyone else notice how he is leaning to his right?

  • Sub 5 minutes per mile!!! I run a mile in 538.. no wayy this is crazy

  • @ilovemyrumor321 a lot faster than just sub 5 per...

  • 13.1 miles at that speed. ridiculous.

  • I wish I spoke German.

  • NEW WORLD RECORD FROM A NEW YOUNG NATION, ERITREA!!!!

    Zeray Jigna-Wedi-Jeganu,,,

Thank you for representing my good people & my beloved homeland, ERITREA.

You are an ETERNAL HERO & a CHAMPION in the hearts & minds of my people.

BLESSED GRATEFUL NATION, ERITREA, HONORS YOU FOR ETERNITY!!!

  • run! forrest, run!!

  • Is he wearing Nike Free's?

  • @467076 If you pause at 6:40 you can clearly see they're some kind of flats, although I'm unsure of the model...they kinda looks like the Nike Streak XC 2's but they don't make them in that color

  • Zersenai.. that was an insane fast Run.. Love you, we support you... Brook from Ethiopia...

  • Its gotta suck to run a sub-hour half-marathon and still be beaten by a minute and a half.

  • @poikonen01 Yeah, that really sucks.. look, he was insanely fast..Look at his leggs... Makes it look 5,000 meters run...:)

  • you can't tell you can't tell you can't tell you how insane that actually is.Even if you are a pro runner,to accomplish a sub 70 minutes half marathon is very very hard, when we talk about breaking the hour barriet it's kinda SF ,but this record is just amazing.Congrats Zersenay, what an amazing runner.AWESOME PACE!

  • @mhjklko Yea, it is truly insane. I'd be surprised if the typical male selected from the population could SPRINT one lap of the track at this pace.

  • Im sure Kenenisa Bekele can break this record.

  • I had a feeling that he was going to break the record. The half marathon is a great distance for him since it's obvious that he doesn't have enough foot speed for the 10k. Now my 3 favorite runners are all record holders.
