Bought a complete set of 4th edition books, they ended up in the trash, From 2.0 to 3.5 the game changed so much but it still had the feel of the game original game. In 4.0 they have dumb it down so much that it's like world of war craft on paper.

M:tG comparison aside, which I find completley irrelevant, I agree that 4e seems like a different game. That was my initial reaction when I finished the PHB: "It's a good game, but it doesn't feel like D&D." Although now that I'm in the middle of a campaign things are seeming more familiar.

the game is streamlined, although narrowed a little bit, you dont get as much choice it seems, also, you choose powers, they are really super and its sorta the thing you will save for the best moment.
