It's a port. A remake is when the game is completely remade from top to bottom completely out of nowhere and only using the old game as a reference.

This is a port, because files were transferred directly to the gba format and edited to have the new features in.

Final fantays IV ds is a remake, final fantasy VI is a port. Get over it.

A port with adds and bugfixes. A remake, yes, but still a port.

@ Zadion: They either created this glitch when they "removed" the other one, or merely changed the way it's activated (the older one was to have him use Retort (Sky), Imp him, then kill/revive him which would cause his Psycho state. So it may have actually been removed, or hidden poorly, but it's still very much exploitable, hehehe.

This is how Cyan should've been all the time. Given his background and everything, you'd think he would be one of the hardest hitting most badass characters in the game. For whatever reason he ended up sucking compared to just about everyone else. Probably just an oversight where his stats looked balanced on paper but in practice turned out crappy.

Any particular strategy you used? I've tried the most obvious things(buffing the hell out of his vigor/strength/whatever you want to call it) but often my weaker characters will do just as much physical damage with weaker weapons against elemental-neutral characters as cyan does with about 4x as much strength. wtf mate.

Simple really. I just casually leveled Cyan up physically, gave him status inducing spells and some curative ones, and equiped him with regular physical equipment. I gave him the Masters Scroll and The Gauntlets (A very underrated relic). Gauntlets double atk power, the scroll halves atk power from non hp based weapons, thus canceling each other out. In the end he did around 7500-8500 damage per hit. I guess if you want to make a character good, you can in this game :). Samurai ftw.

If you want to make Cyan the best character, simpy give him all healing spells, the quick and valor spells, then equip him with an exp egg(or growth egg), and give him an esper that gives him 2+strength as a bonus.

He will then be capable of 80,000 in damage on a SINGLE turn!

There's a mod out there that actually does direct translations of the Japanese lines, honorifics included, and it's... pretty boring. Easy to see why the Japanese don't like it as much as we do.
