improvising. for me as a beginner this themes to be impossible. i just learned the am pentatonic and now im trying to make progress... but its sooooooooo ultra hard. im playin for a year now and can not play one thing. and im training every day and learned the complete theoretical background. its such a pitty!
Once you get the scales down, it's easy. You don't have to think about where your fingers are going, so you can focus on the music and really feel it. Keep at it, practice, and eventually improvising will come naturally. And believe me, it's one of the most rewarding things ever when you get it down pat.
Hey....its ok for guys to wear pink now! And there is always shock value!....the vid is very cool...good job! I have to vote for the strat, since I have 2 of them, would like to hear a tele next time, its amazing how these vids can influence guitar buyers...keep up the good work...poppa
maybe its just me but i really enjoyed the tone and the playing during the aria section the most! great job on all takes, love the jazzy octave melodies
@1971SuperLead I'd say it's more the V-Amp2 than the guitar(s). I don't own the V-Amp2 anymore, but I was able to get some usable tones from it. A nice little piece of gear. Thanks for commenting!
@weaponx29 It starts with a minor ( I think ), of course it does not always play the a minor chord, it's a standard blues chord progression I think. I'm not that into theory though.
I'm no were near as good as this guy but, can any of you guys check my blues improvisation out I really want some good advice and feedback, much appreciated.
Hi there I like the of the Les paul 1st then the aria fa-80 then the fernandes I thought I would have liked the fernandes 1st but the paul sounded best for me thanks real cool..
That's right. If you use effects, there is little difference in the sound. play them clean to really see the tonal differences they have. But, they're all sweet in their own right...
Sounds like he has some reverb on, and a little overdrive/distortion... rest is probably half way, nothing too fancy. If you're not getting the right sound, play around with your guitar pickups and tone control
That's exactly what I said!! I was talking to "outofideasfukit".. the comment above mine!! He asked what the difference between blues in A, or blues in A minor.. Read before you talk crap.
That's exactly what I said!! I was talking to "outofideasfukit".. the comment above mine!! He asked what the difference between blues in A, or blues in A minor.. Read before you talk crap.
Les Paul: Amazing sound. I love what your playing in that a scale. Anything sounds good playing with the tone of that guitar, what amp are you using? wizard ? doesnt sound like a marshall. Great improv its not over ovally difficult but its a beauty. Very clapton
im 16 and im thinking about moving to memphis when i graduate to play blues for the rest of my life, i mainly use my fender penvey standard should i buy a new guitar before i graduate and if yes then wat kind?
i like the les paul sound more in this one =) sounds more peaceful. tele is good for some happy country music or stuff like that. if you wanna sound melancholic, go for les paul!
At first I always preferred the 'Les Paul' sound... but after studying and playing myself, I can't help but adore both Les Pauls and Strats. They both have such damn nice tones :D
what makes this guitarist sound so nice is his flawless modal technique. he knows the chords hes playing over and the parts of the scale that they chorrespond to. i also like the way he has a nice blend of techniques, bending, chording the diatonics, sliding, alternate picking, and sustain. very nice.
A minor is the relative scale to C Major. Ever major scale has its relative minor scale. To simplify it for you a minor and c major are the same scale - no sharps, no flats. One starts on C and the other starts on A. Email me if you need help getting this fretboard figured out!
Well there's relatives.... yea same is right down there so basically the relative of c maj is a minor, so i guess you could say it sound's better to the ear.
i love the vibrato on the bends, but you seem to have the habit of sometimes using a "classical" vibrato (you know, moving you finger horizontally) and sometimes, using vibrato thats normal for electric, moving up and down
it sounds to me you have to get rid of that classical vibrato, it just doesnt sound right in my ears......
Came back for a second listen. Yep. Really great restrained and tasteful A-minor blues playing. I wonder how G-major would sound over the same chords?
To be honest, this is not the appropriate musical context for the Aria. It's poorer sustain but chimey tone when clean played makes it perfect for rockabilly or jazz though.

Eppi = No. 1 (warmer and fatter. Much the best)
Fernandes = No. 2 (more cut, but a bit clinical)
Aria = No. 3 (poor sustain, no character, looks like it took more work to get a sound out of it)
Great Minor Blues however! And a really valid comparison too. Thanks
