It is great to see a new revival of this very good music. I wish Gary, Malcolm, and Co. all the best. You can see and feel their hearts are in it. It sounds soooo good!
@adap2it Must be confusing suddenly to change, but seems like he fits in and did a great job. Judged by the earliest clips of Three Friends Mick seemed totally new to the music of Gentle Giant. Concerning Mick I first missed the power that Derek had in his voice, but was very impressed when I heard them live (Probably Kerrys last gig with the band in Würzburg). Especially Kerrys high notes (I Lost My Head, Schooldays, ...). This is an amazing band and it looks like there is a good spirit...
Pierre was an awesome replacement, singing both the Derek Shulman parts and the softer Kerry Minnear vocals beautifully. Three Friends were called back for two encores -- a spectacular show. The only time I saw Gentle Giant was Bicentennial weekend 1976, so this was a real treat.
This was an amazing performance by Gary Green and Malcolm Mortimore of Gentle Giant, with fanatastic contribution on vocals from Pierre, a last minute replacement. Three Friends played a great set, including a lot of Gentle Giant songs that were never played live. Gary was smoking hot and Malcolm was all over the drum kit. After seeing Pierre's performance, who misses Derek Shulman? Thanks for these great gigs, Gary and Malcolm. We hope to see more over many years. Thaks for posting, Dave.
