  • In post script, the Tree Boa is sometimes calles (Sanzinia madagascariensis )

and experts go back and forwards with its latin name ;)

  • THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!

Sorry guys but I hate it when people give out misinformation.

Dumerils and Madagascan ground boas are not the same and have different husbandry requirements so please research properly what snake you actully have.

Dumerils come from the Spinny Desert and its a very arid place like New Mexico.

The true ground boas come from the northern forest regions and have more humidity requirements!

  • Please guys lets get it right!

Firstly use the Latin names thats what there for, and its not using them that leads to all this confusion out there, so here goes:

    Madagasca as three indiginous snakes.

    1 Dumeril Boa (Acrantophis Dumerili)

2 Madagascan Ground Boa (Boa madagascariensis)

3 Madagascan Tree Boa (Boa manditra)

All are from Madagasca ORIGINALY, now can only be found outside of Madagascan due to CITES international law.

First 2 are Ground boas but different last is obvious.

  • MMFWCL

  • Where the fuck did u get them for $75, my local pet store is selling them for $450 for a pair

  • Hey I was wondering if you bought it from a pet store or online cuz the pet store I saw one in was selling it for 150 and I think that a lil outragous and you got yours for 75 so I wanna know where you got yours from thanks

  • nah 150 isnt really that outrageous i was very lucky and also purchased 2 at the same time, they were a 100 each....i just haggle a lot...but i would recommend buying from a breeder if the pet shop animals arent looking that good dumerils are thick snakes.,

  • Nah i just like teasing people about it for there is a madagascan and dumeril but mads are more expensive lol...some ppl are like oh i guess i'm wrong.. lol

  • good vid. but Dumerils are NOT from madagascar...madagascan ground boas are from madagascar and are EXPENSIVE...$500 or more...they only get about 4-6 foot at max

  • are you sure i believe there are dumerils boa native to madagascar.they are a sub-specie

  • yeah i think that dumerals are from madagascar and they're like endangered or something

  • Dumeril's Boa is a Madagascar ground boa, whoever gave you this information was wrong.

  • Dumeril's boa is a sub-specie

like Chinese water dragons and eastern water dragons....
