They might have, as Amtrak employees operate MARC trains during the weekdays (MARC passengers on weekends can ride on Amtrak Regional trains w/ MARC tickets). SEPTA and NJT, thankfully, have their own train crews, and run their own trains on weekends.
the Marc train is a holiday extra borrowed by amtrak for make up for a lack of equipment during the holiday travel day this is why you see the NJ transit trains as well. They will go all the way to Washington and the Marc train will go all the way to Boston i believe
NB Regional, SB Regional, SB SEPTA, NB SEPTA (MARC leased), NB Acela, SB Silver Star (with a surprise), SB SEPTA (NJT leased), SB Keystone, NB Crescent, NB SEPTA, SB Keystone, SB SEPTA, NB Silver Meteor, SB Regional, SB SEPTA (MARC leased). Yes, that is the order of sequencial trains you will see in this video. I'm bad... really bad >)
There are plenty of routes that go through the NEC... but the problem with most of them is that once they leave the NEC (which is Amtrak owned), they enter railroads that are owned by freights (CSX, UP, NS), and then they get very late.
lol o fa real dat wussup it would b fun to c a metro north new haven mu in pennsylvania they'll fit in jus perfect wit septa since they look simular to the silverliner 4's wit those roof mounted dynamic braking systems
wait i din't kno the new jersey transit north east corridor line came into pennsylvania aint dat septa territory, and since when did marc come into pennsylvania too i thouht they only went as far as perryville maryland and theirs like a commuter gap where theirs no commuter service between perryvile maryland and newark delaware
@vze428s7 well really the Perryville line is called the Penn Line the one into WVA is the Brunswick Line which ends at Martinsburg and the and the one into W. baltimore is the camdem so i think u might have seen rented power for Amtrak
I fucking love trains...There was a NJ Transit train in there as well, btw. What is the Amtrak train with the double decker lounge cars? Is this before or after Philadelphia 30th Street Station?
By Eddington the speeds are 125mph for Acela's and regionals and 110mph for C trains. Septa depending on equipment are allowed between 80-90mph. The curve east of eddington is 120 for acela's on 2 and 3 track and 105 for everything else on 2 and 3. 1 and 4 is 100mph period. I worked something that morning to NYC but can't remember what train is was.
Love the Engineers that layed on that K5LA on the AEM-7s.I was in the cab of one one time on Sept 15 of this year and the engineer let me lay on that sucker for a while. also i did in an f40 that was sittin in the yard for a horn test in d.c. I know they are retired now but it was a vre f40.if you stripped the paint of it you would say hey its an amtrak f40. i also layed on the horn of the acela that same day
Thanks for sharing this. I'm guessing that the southbound trains are coming from your right, and the northbound trains are coming from your left. Am I right?
Back when I was a little kid I lived in Elkins Park. I would spend alot of my free time at the train station, and just watch the trains go by. However, I was scared of the kind shown at 2:30 because of a nightmare I had where one of those tube-shaped trains went by
the station at high speed, and tried to suck me into
it like a vacuum. Thankfuly, I never did see it during
those years, because it probaly would've sent me screaming and running out of the station. :)
whats a njt arrow 3 doing on the necgoing to philly I thought service was terminted at trenton unless septa leased that train for its service from trenton to philly
The Arrow IIIs are used by Amtrak for Holiday extra trains during the Thanksgiving weekend (especially on the Sunday after when this video was shot) due to lack of equipment and high demand. There were two trains of Arrow IIIs and a train consisting of a MARC HHP-8 and 6 push/pull coaches.
One can see these and other Amtrak extra trains every year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
I see I thought it was for extra service on septa I didn't know amtrak borrows njt trains for the extra holiday load I see a MARC train also coming from DC thanx for the info I had no idea.
you will get more action on the northeast corridor this year with the NJT ACES trains running between frankford junction to NYC and it is going to be fun.
Don't know if you were by any populated stations or if they were being blown AT you, but it's cool how the engineers seemed to blow the horns to enhance your shot.
At 1:42, what was that on the tracks? looks like it fell of the Train
