But if you strip away the trappings and gimmicks that were in or out of favor in it's day, it's true the song holds up, and the vocal performance is beautiful. This song, backed with Situation, makes for one of the most rewarding singles from that entire era.

This was actually written by Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode he offered them the song when leaving the group they declined the offer.

Vince Clarke then formed duo Yazoo with Alison Moyet.
