I believe the Tanker you are talking about is a PBY. Tanker 85 I believe is on contract to Washington State. I have worked with him a few times over the years and he always does a great job. I don't think the PBY will be around much longer. Too bad.

Yep. That is Tanker 85 (out of Deer Park, WA) - a PBY Canso (Catalina in the US). The contract with the state of Washington was not renewed for the 2008 season, and its future is uncertain at best. It always did a good job in working the fires of the interior of northern Washington.

Cool Vid i love air tankers

ahh the good old days of airtankers are gone here in the US. 95% of our airtankers here are Tubroprops such as the S-2T, AT-802, and the P-3. the only cool tankers are the Neptune Avation P-2V neptunes.
