Are u using any stainless plates inside that ? If so, u most likely will have "hexavalent cromium" leeching out from them.. !!
Thats extremely toxic and cancerous, Erin Brockvich-movie.. you know.. So please, buy a simple test it online, its really cheap, and test that water!
I mean, whats the point of High-pH, when it might be contaminated, right? Trust me, a simple test-kit is cheap, u can afford it!

I took your advice and spent the $35.00 and tested. No hexavalent Chromium in the water.
