this is exactly how i do it in solidworks ...but the company im working now is starting to use inventor 2010....im 1 of the first guy that went for training for it..just last week...it would be really a great help if i can have a copy of that exercise...
You and I are on the same page there man. It's funny I'm the same way - wow this is awesome, now can I have this? It's like Oliver Twist asking for more...
A great tip for those still hanging on to AutoCAD. This really helps speed up up the "What-will-it-look-like" -without all the work of naming-and-constraining-parts - Awesome!!!
Gee, that intro was almost like acting... but I think I'd keep my day job for now. After all, there's only room for one Christopher Walken in this tiny world. Who knows, though? Even Pee-Wee Herman starred in 2 movies! Can you play the cowbell? If you can't lay your hands on one you can always practice with a cheese grater (don't ask how I know that).
I've been looking for a way to get a common origin for all parts in a big assembly((Size: like an ATV)
Could this maybe be a good idea even for a bigger project?
