@backingslowly I don't think it's as simple as just selling their body. They're selling their most intimate parts. Construction workers, massage therapists and everything else u listed is completely different. They do not sell their most intimate parts and provide opportunity for rape or to be beaten up in their jobs.

I'm not trying to be 100% literal here-you probably understand my point; you're living in a totally different situation than the streetwalkers are living in. You don't live in their reality, or their world. I don't want this to blow up into some huge fight- my point is that everyone likes to tout moral superiority when they're living on the greener side of the fence, but once put in the same position, many would do the same thing.

@lsdeeee420 I once watched a show where they claimed that people believe down there that AIDS can be cured by sleeping with a virgin girl. So they aren't afraid to catch STDs if they can then go look for a young virgin girl to have sex with. That's what I remember from it anyway..

@noiseboom You can be as self-righteous as you want behind your computer screen, sitting in your home, eating your food, never having met an actual prostitute in real life. But I'm 100% sure if you were faced with hard survival in the streets where real life kicks in and Disney morals stop existing, you would do anything to live. You've never been dirt poor, so you don't know the reality of poverty. Nobody wants to be a prostitute. But everybody wants to survive.

@popificationful I've never met a prostitute in RL? lol theres a road on next to my college called Thorton Road that almost every house is occupied by a prostitute. Last year a man actually went around with a crossbow and killed 5 of them.

@noiseboom When I say met a prostitute in real life, I mean, did you really sit down and get to know her? Talk to her as a person and hear her thoughts about her future, herself, her job? Just from watching the video you can see how desperate the streetwalkers are, and how their past and current poverty put them in a hard situation. How can they get other jobs? They didn't go to school-they have no education. It's a really hard life. You have to do anything to survive; life is not fair.

@noiseboom I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think you should hate them-you have everything they don't. Maybe its easy to hate them because they seem to be taking the "easy way out" - but if you think about it, they have literally nothing. No money, no health, no dignity, no control over their own life. Their lives pretty much suck. Their only escape is drugs. If anything they deserve some pity, even if some of it is their own fault
