  • Haha byu beat asu this year...so suck it devils. Jimmer is a beast. He beat you 2 years in a row

  • this game made me mad the whole way, the ridiculous pac-10 refs didn't give BYU any calls. and this was SUCH an obvious score. you cant see as well with this vdeo quality but he easily had it off, but of course the pac-10 refs gave it to asu.

  • There is no way to tell whether it was off his hand or not. It was a bad camera angle.

  • shouldve counted just to make up for the BS foul the refs called when abouo stole it from harden right before that, which put ASU up in the first place

  • it was clearly not out of his hand in time, you can see when the scoreboard light turns red that he still has his fingers on it

  • umm it was off his hand.

  • i played against jimmer fredette on the byu team in high school 2 years ago. man that kids gonna be a beast come end of this year heading into his junior year. he was at our college open gyms over last summer and man he can ball.

  • he needed 1-2 tenths of a second more and there would have been a whole different ballgame

  • man you're smart. but wouldn't that be BYUMP?

it looks as if PNKash360 graduated from BYUMP, which doesn't exist. therefore, you're an idiot.

  • wow, does not get any closer than that. But, light was on, and ball still in hand. Pretty easy to see, does not count.

  • I'm an ASU fan who went to the game. Harden got way too many foul calls. BYU should have won with that alone. I never got to see it on my 65 inch HDTV but on YouTube it seems that the refs got it right but god damn it was close.

  • You obviously aren't an ASU fan and don't know anything about basketball. There was one questionable call when Harden was on a one-on-one break and he stiff armed that dude. ONLY bad call of the game. Harden manhandled the entire BYU squad hence the reason he is potentially the best player in the nation.

  • That one call could have completely changed the game obviously, and it was an EXTREMELY obvious foul, you can't argue with that.

  • Where is this Andy Katz ESPN article? I can't find it. Can someone link? And by the way, ASU WON THIS GAME FAIR AND SQUARE.

  • The shot was a couple tenths of a second too late, but it's hard to deny the extreme homerism of the refs. How is it possible that Harden shot more FT's than the entire BYU team? It's undeniable.

  • ESPN. com has a nice article that will hopefully end your whining and bitching. You guys got beat plain and simple. Your coach thinks football replay rules apply to basketball, doesnt surprise me. Go Devils

  • Of course they made the right call. Pac10 officials have always proven themselves superior. No history of issues with these guys. Why would anyone question?

  • Once you see the frame-by-frame part, it's clearer that he still had the ball in his hands when the red light went off. If I were going by just the normal replay, I would probably call it a good basket. However, once you see it in slow motion, you realize that the refs ultimately made the right call.

  • Harden should have fouled out this game but for some reason when he shoves the defender with his arm it's a foul on them. Happened at least 3 times.

  • it looks like it was still in his hand but of course from this angle it would so its hard to tell... i pretty much died when i saw this when it happened.

  • I would be pissed too if we had a chance to win the game and we didnt. I am not surprised that BYU Cougar fans are a bunch of babies. You guys all represent your school well--a bunch of whiners. Bottom line is Harden dominated your whole squad. Go Devils.

  • The only reason they didn't count the basket was the game was played in Arizona. The bucket was in fact good but the replay people couldn't upset the Asu fans. Lets see Asu come to Utah and play, actually they probably won't since they know they don't have any chance. Asu is just an average team at best with one player in Harden that lives by the whistle so he can put up his 30 points every night.

  • If you ask me that buzzer beater should've counted...

  • So, is ASU going to wuss out against BYU in football next year? Sounds like they want to schedule a team they can beat without the refs. BYU will bitch-slap ASU all over the field. ASU better get a new opponent.

  • get your facts straight. BYU is the one that doesnt want to play ASU anymore bcuz they are trying to schedule Oklahoma instead. bunch of scumbags in utah

  • get your facts straight...the oklahoma game is to replace the game against tulane. Lots of ignorance in arizona

  • I am not surprised that BYU fans are bitching and moaning about this call. Clearly it was in his hand. I loved seeing that brazilian dude cry like a bitch when the reversed the call. BYU had a bad weekend against arizona teams...HARDEN SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE LINE MORE THAN HE DID, its a joke to think anyone on that team could have guarded him. Quit whining and accept that you just arent as good as we are. Go Devils

  • You got owned your home town. Harden got more charity trips than the entire BYU team -- all the while, he is throwing elbows. Count it as a W, but, we all know BYU was clearly the better team.

  • Harden is a stud and knows how to get to the basket. BYU keeps complaining on how many times he got to the chairty line. Well maybe if they didn't foul him and could defend him, it would be a different story. Suck it up.

  • It shouldn't have been wavied off it was to close to call. i hate BYU but Harden shouldn't have gone to foul line as many times as he did. The ref's stole the game away from BYU

  • Hoffskill you are fucking retarded. If you actually watched the game you would know that there were very bad calls made in the last half of the second half. Like the time Lamont Jr for BYU got called for hitting his face against Harden's hand. Do you remember that. Where Harden tried to go around Jr and he held him back by pushing his face away? That seems normal. BYU was Robbed.

  • Go Devils!! If a player takes it to the cup almost every time in the 2nd half, against a team that has not seen a player of Harden's caliber, there is a reason why he will get to the stride 18 times in the second half. Get over it.

  • 1:33 baby. NEXT!!!!!!

  • TOO BAD, SO SAD... LET'S GO DEVILS!

  • A-S-U!

  • Indeed, regardless of this final play, gotta love the refs sending James Harden to the line like he was Dwayne Wade in the NBA Finals...truly ridiculous.

  • Wow! Great job with the slo-mo. Thanks.

  • What is so great about it? Can't even see the clock.

  • Try paying attention to the "RED LIGHT" that surrounds the entire back-board..... It illuminates when time expires. You can clearly see the ball, still in his hand, when the light comes on..... That is, "what is so great about it."

  • It is even CLEARER with Maroon and Gold colored glasses! Sorry, those of you that think it is clear -- I am not buying it. Take your Christmas present and don't wuss out on the football game next fall.

  • Thank goodness the "sour grapes" had nothing to do with that response.

  • According to NCAA regs, the light is ONLY used as a BACKUP when the shot clock is not visible from the same angle as the shooter's hand. The shot clock WAS visible, and as FSN's and ESPN's analysts both stated, "Too close to tell!" In this case, the play stands as called: BYU wins. Read the rulebook. And by the way, the ESPN editorial by Andy Katz is full of errors regarding the NCAA rules.

  • Look. I can appreciate the passion the BYU fans are bringing to the table here. And I would be very disappointed if the call had gone the other way. But... Short of calling Pac-10 officials "liars" and "cheats" this was a call that was made, with every effort to get it RIGHT.

The officials slowed the footage down "Frame-to-Frame" to determine that the ball was still in his hand, as the light came on. The real shame here, is that your team blew a sizable lead, in the waning moments to lose.

  • This is as close as that Michael Phelps finish. this video quality is bad, it makes it look like it is in his hand for sure, but it looked a lot closer on TV.

  • This was VERY close but I must say it does look like it is BARELY touching his fingers when the light goes red. Tough loss for BYU, you cougs have a great team who will own the MWC this season.

  • 10-1 isn't bad. I think we'll finish the non-conference schedule 13-1.

  • This play doesn't matter. The pac-10 refs screwed BYU over. They put Harden on the line 21 times!!! that's 2 more than BYU's entire team. He's a great player, but some on those And-1s were complete BS.

  • Cry baby

  • You've got to be kidding. LOL. Maybe your Cougars should have stopped fouling him every play. James Harden owned your team yesterday. No one could guard. The refs maybe, and I said maybe, made one wrong foul call. Just because your defenders can't keep up with him doesn't mean the they aren't fouls.

  • no macfee, i don't think he's kidding. i'm not either. Harden got all the calls in his favor. of course he actually got fouled some of the times. but not enough to shoot 21 foul shots. and the refs made up their own "Harden continuation" rule where if harden was fouled, he had the NBA continuation rule, but no one else on the floor got that privilege.

Arizona is over-rated. BYU gas got a few more kinks to work out.

  • You're right brocellerman, Arizona is overrated.

    GO DEVILS!

  • Yeah, like the elbow that was thrown by ASU and then winds up shooting free throws. Complete homer BS.

  • Do your homework it there were no PAC -10 refs

  • Yeah, if you freeze the frame then the red light goes on, its pretty clear the ball was still in his hand. It's darn close though.

  • Very, very close. As a BYU fan, I hate to admit that it looks like it was just barely touching his hand as the clock expired...unfortunately. But, what a shot to make as the clock expired. Great game, though.

  • they showed it once. the same replay from the video. since they were playing the game on the screen. but it was impossible to tell. Yeah, I saw the ref wave is arms no good... And the place erupted and BYU fans had their hands over their faces. haha Ridiculous ending. I'm stayin up till 2AM to rewatch it on FSN.

  • I should stay up, but I think I will go cross-eyed if I do. This was about as close as it can get. Crazy game. Oh well.

  • I was there. It was a great ending. And the call was right.

  • Looks like the ball was still in his hand to me, but just by a fraction of a second. Close call.

  • Must be a BYU fan cause it was clearly in his hand... You can see how his fingers bend way after the lights go on... And you don't bend your fingers when the ball is already out. thats the motion you make to get the ball out. No way it was good. Awesome environment to be there when they said no good. haha Cause none of us could tell on the score board.

  • haha yeah i was there too. they didnt show the replay on the screen so nobody knew till the ref called it and harden ran to mid court celebrating. good ending.

  • looks to be on his fingertips, but im an ASU fan so of course im gonna say it was no good

  • Thanks for the video.

Looks to me like the ball is in his hands when the lights on the backboard go on.

  • My opinion is that the ball was out of his hand when time expired

  • you need glasses

  • Definitely in his hand.
