  • I don't get it... Where's the fractal?

  • @xrayfishx All of it is fractal. Every part of this animation is a fractal. The space in the background is a fractal. The eyeball is built from eight layers of fractals mapped onto a sphere. Look carefully at the veins in the eyeball, they're each a separate fractal layer. The sphere is manipulated using the mapping parameters in the fractal program. No post processing with any other programs were used in making this animation. It was made entirely within a fractal generating program.

  • @xrayfishx If you're looking for a "textbook definition" of a fractal. The endlessly scaling variety with obvious self-repetition, then some of my work may confuse you. I go beyond simple sets of fractals and use them as a tool to create the art I want by using advanced multi-layering, masking and transparency effects. I purposely use formulas, transformations and coloring algorithms that avoid too much repetition, giving my work a more organic look.

  • @TiedyemansVideos ok thanks next time i'll find out what the word really means before I start talking :)

the only thing I know about fractal is the thing called fractal noise in 3d graphics.

    Anyways it looks really nice!

  • @xrayfishx Thanks. Many of the 3d graphics you see are actually fractals. What they call noise is usually an equation to make things look more random.
