ACTUALLY most Chinese negotiations are informal while most western negotiation are formal. Chinese prefer to build long lasting relationship and trust in business and deal the deal with a big dinner party and everyone goes home happy and ready for another contract. Western business prefers solid, clear, legal documentations signed under lawyers supervision after formal meetings and sub-meetings. The goal is for short term contract rather than long term relationship building.

If China becomes America's ally, America doesn't even have to use their own army, because their ally, China has the world's largest standing army right over Soviet's door step.

On the other hand, if Soviet get China's back as its ally, then America would have to face two of the worlds largest nation....

The United States has absorbed territory from the Native Americans, Mexico and the Hawaiians, which now only hold a limited degree of autonomy (the Navajo Nation is an example). Britain, Spain and Canada face similar issues with Northern Ireland, the Basques and Quebec, respectively. In Africa, there's tons of separatist movements, and other Asian nations like Burma and India face similar issues.

@VanSisean And, btw, many of these nations have granted these territories a limited degree of autonomy without problems. As I said, the US gave the reservations some autonomy, as well as certain fmr. Mexican territories, like Texas and Arizona (Texas is the only state that can fly their flag at the same level as the US flag and Arizona doesn't even use the Daylight Savings system). Likewise, Canada has worked to compensate for both its identities (French and English)...
