There is an interesting tone in the things Carlin says. He's cynical, but not depressing. He often talks about how life looks like a tragedy, but then makes you realize it's actually a comedy. There is so much amusment in Life, if you would just watch, and refrain from picking sides/hoping for specific outcomes.

I'v read some about that. When you enter a new room, the thought from the previous room is locked in a psychologial drawer/box whatever, and when standing in the other room, it's quite difficult to open the box with the previous thought. Dunno if this is true, but at least it gives me a good picture of what's going on when it happens to me!

I met him in Scranton Pa. back in the 90's after a show. Not only did he take the time to talk to me and a friend but he invited us back into his dressing room and discussed how he used to live in Scranton on the verge of homelessness. We took him to Farlys for a drink after we shared a joint. Jason Miller was there and George says pleas keep that drunk ass-hole away from me. George had a soda and Jason wanted in so George excused himself and we walked him 2 blocks back to his hotel. I nevr frgt

It doesn't surprise me at all that he was that nice to you. He really seemed like a very polite person who greatly appreciated his fans. No pretense. A lot like Bill Hicks I think. I never saw him live but over the last 10 years I've really gotten into him and whenever I hear a clip it really brightens my day.

@Elsweyr666 Percentages are only fair. They take the proper proportions for everybody. It's the same reason you pay the same amount of tax on a $2 item vs a $3,500 item. You shouldn't be penalized for making more money. If you get a raise at work one day, would it be fair to raise your taxes because you now make more?
But in then end, I'm with you. It's all worthless. I've been poor my entire life, and it won't bother me one damn bit if I continue to be poor until the end of it. That's life.

There is an interesting tone in the things Carlin says. He's cynical, but not depressing. He often talks about how life looks like a tragedy, but then makes you realize it's actually a comedy. We are all here merely watch. It's so true. Emotionally detatching myself from the over-serious, bullshit, mainstream narrative is the best thing I've ever done. There is so much amusment in Life, if you would just watch, and refrain from picking sides/hoping for specific outcomes.
