fan ducking tastic mr stove pipe i can across this fellow >>> lawooca <<< look him up he has nearly no views but hell can he play and sing also his playing is sublime like yours peace mate
absolutely magnificent..im trying to learn from ya video..its a step be step thing..especially those little runs you do around the 1.20 minute point, but im digging it..your playing is AWESOME..by the way what is that sweet little guitar you play??
Kudos, Daddystovepipe, your playing is ripe with soul. I'm glad you used the brushing in the solo. That's the only version I've head, and it really struck me on first listen. Thanks so much.
Daddystovepipe Sr. you have no idea how much i love your talent and love for old blues. Im no where near as good as you but pls feel free to look at my videos. As soon as i get some comments or 50 views im gonna make one of my own custom blues. I have played for 16 yrs and taught my self. Thank you for opening my eyes back up to these wonderful blues. We all wish we was a porn star at 19 too. lol tagged blues rocks!!!!!!!

Practise is the magic word I'm afraid but you're young so you have plenty of time :)
I use my middle finger to do the tremolo brushing; the index moves along but doesn't touch the strings, he just happens to be there for the ride, the thumb does the basswork.
I just wonder if it's a coincidence that "rope stretchin" sounds like a euphemism for bending and stretching guitar strings. :) Makes the lyrics cool in that context as well.
I use the middle finger to do the brushing while the thumb plays a bass string. I've seen people do it with the index as well so there's no rule. Do whatever is comfortable for you.
AWESOME! You have an amazing feel for Blake's stumble bass. Blake and Rev Gary Davis are pure Genius. The best and most brillant of the piedmont ragtime style players.
Hey Daddy! that was great! Particularly liked the first guitar break... very slick picking! Makes me want to learn this one too... keep them coming, Dan

I'm going to sing the blues about how far I am from being able to tremolo with two fingers. Thanks for a great rendition of a great guitarist.

PS - the Supertone is most likely older than the 30s, Harmony (who made Supertone for Sears) stopped using 10th fret markers sometime in the 20s.
