3 moments are very emotional for me. The first is when when her auntie tricks her into going to Frankfurt, and the her grandfather is left standing there in a shock. The second is when Heidi explains to the doctor diagnoses her sleep walking and why, the third is when she returns to her grandfather. I'm reading all the comments, i'm soo over whelmed here. By the way, i initially watched this in arabic when i was 8.  I had no idea it was this popular world wide. Not here in the UK though

So it did exist in English!!! I searched for years on YouTube. THANK YOU for posting it! This is probably the best cartoon ever made. I grew up in Italy, and watched the whole series over and over, still crying every time I watch the scene when Heidi returns to her grandfather from Frankfurt...I guess this version is condensed? Good enough though to share with my English speaking friends who never heard of Heidi!! SO happy!!! Thank you!

Hi I tried my best to get the cartoon series in english (52 episodes) it was broadcasted by cartoon network you might think I am crazy but I actually wrote to cartoon network thanking them to broadcast this series as it is such a wonderful series the best of my childhood and even till today. @aceraezac Interesting. Also, if you're interested, a German broadcasting company is making an entirely new series based on Heidi, in the same aspect of this series. Not sure if it'll be in English but search for "Studio 100 media" on Google. On their website, they're saying it's in production. It's in the "New highlights" section. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

Studio 100 is a Belgian company. They have subbed all the cartoons in Dutch/Flemish. Every moring I watch these with my 10 month old daughter :) We both love them.

They have put them on DVD, only in Dutch and 4 episodes per DVD. I hope they will do a box set or something..

I hear the original Japanese OP song (without singing) @11:45 in the background so I suppose this means that German/Dutch/Portugese/Taiwane­se/Arab kids who grew up with different OP songs still have already heard the melody line of the original OP song and have been subconsciously familiar with it as they watched the stories.

You probably mean Hayao Miyazaki but he was just one of the animators who participated in some of the episodes and so he's not the one who has the ultimate control/say over the oversea distribution.
