Pamela's Wedding Dress 4 - attaching the seam binding

This seam binding installation is wonderful, because I needed to see how it's done. I just started sewing around October 24, 2010 and I am still confused about sewing in seam binding. Thank you so much!

Hope you also saw the wedding video, which is surely the most interesting, unique, and unusually lovely wedding I've ever been to or have even heard about. It's worth watching!

I also wanted to ask whether the filming of the making of the dress was a part of the Bride's present and where is the dress today?

@poppa2006 -- Oh, no, the filming I did because the bride left for Wales, U.K., right after I measured her and made a body double of her torso. Since she would have liked to have been a part of the sewing, I made the videos strictly for her, but didn't know I could post the videos privately, at the beginning. When other people starting watching, and subscribing, I realized I should keep them all public. The dress is in Wales in her stone cottage, and I'll be posting a wedding video soon.

Hi, these are an interesting series and fun to watch. Did you purchase the machine just for the purpose of sewing this dress? I wish I could listen to the sound of the machine, whether it is a smooth stitcher or a clonker...lol...

For attaching the bias tape you could have purchased Janome's tape attachment gizmo.....I presume that this machine is a Janome.

@poppa2006 -- So glad you're enjoying them! As luck would have it, my old Kenmore died a month before I even knew Pamela would be getting married. I wanted another one that was heavy metal & had metal gears. After much research, I bought the Janome 6600 (so you guessed right), and I am more thrilled with it than I imagined. It came with many attachments, incl. prob. the one you mention, but for this project I did everything in the best way (which varied), not the easiest way.
