Violence is just one of the hidden costs of animal agriculture and "meat". Slaughterhouses have one of the highest injury/turnover rates of any industry... Kill-floor workers often suffer from alcohol or drug abuse.. They are also usually the least paid employee. Also, the high crime/violence rates around "meat packing" plants devastate the property values and infra-structure of communities. Slaughterhouses create "ghettos"... There's so much we pay for "meat" - that goes unseen.
