  • rowte 66?

  • Awesome video, thank you very much.

  • So much work! Does anyone bottle and sell this stuff at a health food store?

  • Great vid. Very entertaining.

Only thing I didn't like was the sprouting method. I prefer to use a sproutbag.

  • Thank god for people like you!

  • Beware the Hippocrotes Health Centre does not recomend using rejuvelac any more. In their book, The Hippocrates Health Program, they state "Rejuvelac, once a major part of the Hippocrates diet, has been eliminated due to research showing that it encouraged the growth of unfriendly bacteria, which negated the effects of good bacteria. Mounting complaints of discomfort prompted us to delete this fermented drink from our diet" They recommend, use distilled water instead of rejuvelec.

  • @SpaceWalkTraveller Thanks for the heads up

  • @SpaceWalkTraveller Hey, can you provide a link to this info. I haven't seen anything suggesting negative effects of Rejuvelac.

  • @MAATSouL20 The book I got this info out of is called Hippocrates Health Program by Dr. Brian Clements. It came free with a Juicer that I brought. Hippocrates Heath Centre does not use rejuvelac anymore. The Anne Wigmore centre might still use it but Hippocrates doesn't. You can email Hippocrates and ask if you like! Hope this helps.

  • @SpaceWalkTraveller Thanks for the info!!!

  • Excellent video

  • so it goes rinse, soak 12 hours, rinse, soak 12 hours, rinse and sit at 45 degrees for 2 days then it's sprouted?...how does the process for cabbage rejuvelac differ?

  • good video,i have a question is wheat grain same as wheat berries ??

  • @chick83b - yes, but you can use different grains to make rejuvelac

  • Thank you for the video!!!

  • @Kdelhomme26 - you are welcome. Thanks for watching :)

  • How safe is this? When fermenting beer, for instance, there is boiling of the fermentables and careful sterilization. I don't see anything like that here. How do you know if it goes bad?

  • @afterburner909 - you can smell and taste if it has gone bad.

  • thank you so much for this video!

could you tell me what the music is around 4:25?

  • GREAT video, thank you for sharing. I am new to raw food and just bought a book with recipes. One of the cheese recipes called for rejuvelac and I thought I could purchase it at my health food store...hahaha. Didn't know I needed to make it. Thanks again.

  • @313HealthyMe,

If you are new to raw foods you most likely will want to make foods that resemble the foods you are used to. Further into your journey you may want to reduce complicated food. It is common that people eat too much fat when they make the transition. Make sure you get enough calories from non-fatty sources such as fruit. The best book I have read on nutrition is Dr Douglas Graham's book 80-10-10. It is the quintessential book on being healthy and feeling awesome all the time :)

  • Great advice, thank you. I am adding the book to my wishlist for 2010.

  • Great vid!! Thanks for sharing. :-) Just trying rejuvelac for the first time and gained some nice tips watching your video. :-) After you harvest your first batch of rejuvelac do YOU usually make a second batch with the same sprouted wheat berries? If so, do you rinse them before adding the water for the 2nd fermentation? Does the 2nd fermentation also take 24-48 hours (same amount of time as the first batch) or is the timing different? Have you ever tried rejuvelac from other sprouted grains?

  • Hello hiker817,

I personally do not use them for a second batch. I hear some people do. All the best,

    -R

  • fantastic!

  • Appreciate this!

  • Thank you...

  • Can you cook & eat the sprouts afterward? And if i was to the same thing to quinoa or millet or amaranth, could i eat those as well?

Also, do you or anyone else know how to make it from quinoa? Because i have to stay away from gluten.

  • I would not use the grains again. I have not tried quinoa. Rejuvelac is the only way I ingest grains as it has been predigsted by friendly bacteria. Grains are not really fit for human consumption.

  • darn, i accidentally bought a 50lb bag of hard white wheat berries. guess ill be taking those back. The other thing is on any video I've watched. Its not clear on how much wheat to use to how big of a batch to make??? plz help. and thanks, love the vid.

  • I use approximately 1/2 to 1 cup of wheat berries. The batch size depends on how potent you want it. More water equals softer flavor. Experiment and you'll get your perfect batch right. :)

  • Do I use hard or or soft wheat berries or does it matter?

  • Soft wheat berries :)

  • pjay236, glad that it was of use...

  • Thanks for the instructional video. It was clear, to the point (a little fun too), and helped me create my very first batch.

  • :-)

  • That was great, thanks :)

  • How was it?

  • Thanks a million for this great vid!

  • You are welcome...

  • "hell to the yeah!" ---LOL-LOL

  • Absolutely... LOL

  • Dying to know your accent. Norwegian?

  • Close - Swedish... :)

  • I started a batch last night, seen this today and I am doing it right. I am glad to see it done, thanks a lot.

  • Rawlee!!! Have you ever done a parasite cleanse or liver cleanse????

  • Please come back to youtube and make more videos.

  • I would love to watch some of your other favorite recipes :)

  • Great demonstration! Thanks very much!!

  • why do some raw food eaters look like anorexic and sick? having a balanced healthy diet is the key and not sticking to one kind. Even raw food can be polluted.

  • Too many people, including some raw foodists, eat a narrow diet. The key to a healthy diet is to get a full spectrum of nutrients. A complete raw food diet has more nutrients per calorie than cooked food and the nutrients are intact. A study found that a typical occidental diet through a lifetime alternates between a combination of these 13 foods: Dairy, Beef, Chicken, Corn, Rice, Wheat, Soy, Barley, Potato, Coffee, Coconut, Orange, Chocolate. It is easy to see why we are getting so unhealthy.

  • Rejuvelac was featured in Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel. it was in the LA episode. though, Andrew didn't like it very much haha but he drank more than about 16 ounces of it haha

  • kool!!!

  • Yay I loved this video! It's so easy to understand. I'm soaking my quinoa at this very moment. Thanks for posting such a great video =)

  • Just watched your video again. This is good. You gotta do another one soon!!!

  • This was a bad @ss video! Rawlee..you rock man

  • Thanks for the kind words.

  • This is the clearest, best video on how to make rejuvelac that I've seen yet. Thank you, Rawlee, for this. I learned about rejuvelac from Viktoras Kulvinskas years ago, but until now didn't make it part of my diet.

  • It makes a great base for green smoothies as well.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing that info.

The first batch I made was really strong, left for 48 hours in summer. It smelled like vomit but tasted very refreshing and fizzy.

  • I'm glad you like it.

  • I have a question I bought my wheat berries but in your video you didn't really say how much to use- a cup, half a cup? thank you again!

  • Hello Mysticbutterfly21. I use roughly 1 cup of organic soft white wheat berries to about two liters (app. 1/2 US gallon) of water. You can also use other grains to make rejuvelac, such as rye.

  • I enjoyed the video can't wait to see more of your videos featuring other foods. I was thinking, "A Day Of Eating By Rawlee". =]

  • That is a good idea, thank you.

  • ps. can you use the wheat berries to make crackers etc with, or are they no good to eat like this?

  • I have never re-used the wheat berries after making Rejuvelac.

  • great video!

isn't rejuvelac contoversial these days? did they stop using it at the hippocrates centre?

your kitchen is so empty! mine is a horrible clutter!

  • Hello starflower666. Thanks for watching. Brian Clement of the Hippocrates Institute said that some of the Rejuvelac batches can contain bad bacteria. I believe that one has to make the determination by one's reaction to it. Personally, I have never had an adverse reaction to it. Also, it is supposed to be a part of a wholistic approach. One should never eat any particular food for an elongated time. Variety is one of the benefits of being a raw foodist.

  • I love what you're doing. Great Video!!

  • I've heard about rejuvelac and have been very curious -thank you for this video I will have to try this soon!

  • Mysticbutterfly21

When I read online how to make Rejuvelac, it sounded convoluted, so I decided to make it audio-visual. I appreciate you watching the video and I hope it will serve you well.
