Hello, can you please help me. I have a pretty serious problem with my laptop. My laptop got infected with a virus that infected WININIT.exe . When I tried cleaning the file it gave me BSOD. When I tried deleting wdmaud.drv it said I needed permission from TrustedInstaller. I tried scanning with malwarebytes and nothing comes up in results. My antivirus isn't working properly either. Please help me I don't want to resort to a whole reset.
Btw i downloaded hitman pro 3, did a complete check, he removed several things, and when i restarted my computer i had to format my whole computer with the vista CD-Rom. Apparently it deleted/changed some vital things in my system32 which caused my computer to crash and was unable to reboot - it kept crashing - nor i was able to run windows in safe mode. Lost every single file that was on my computer.
Hey man can i make a video response i have found some other tips you can take to remove Browser Redirects and nice channel me and you make videos in the same nature ahh
@ColgateNacho last week i had a bad case of a google redirect virus it attacked every computer on my network remove any removable media cds loppy disk drive disconnect from the internet and reformat every computer in your house before contacting to the internet back up reset the router to factory default then open cmd and type ipconfig /flushdns to flush the DNS resolver cache then use a usb flash driver on a computer like your friends and transfer antimalware software to your infacted pc
Defense Center is one of the nastiest rogues I've seen. But I got MBAM to take care of it. Great video by the way, I didn't know about these programs that you're using until now.
@lukenutt457 - It is a nasty one, I have had some variations with 27 rootkits and the unwanted desktop icons but the programs used did clean all traces although it does take a little time :-)
Just finishing up cleaning two computers. Both had TDSS Rootkits installed and TDSSKiller was able to remove both successfully. Unless you just go straight to a Windows reinstall running multiple scanners is the only way to clean a system...and it does take a lot of time.
@BigGeekDaddy - Now if only users would create a clean ghost image as backup, malware removal wouldn't be the major problem that it is. This method works, but as you will know yourself, it is also time consuming and in some instances a clean install can be an easier option :-)
Yea, and like what TheBuckbull said, I would too like to know what programs you have on your USB stick. Maybe you could post a list of programs on your blog? =D
@cotojo1253 Hey man I got rid of my redirects but everytime I go on any site these stupid ass random spam pop up sites just come up and its fucking annoying. It's not a pop up its some spam shit. Can you help me?
@4DarkAces - The problem with GMER is that novices may delete something they shouldn't. A lot of users need a little guidance when using some apps so i tend to use tools that everyone can use with relative ease. I will do a video on GMER sometime in the future when i get the chance my friend :-)
@jossmartins - Hitman is very hit and miss Jose. 24 hours earlier it only found Task Manager disabled and as in this video, it found several items but many users would not know what to do with any labelled 'suspicious', and in this case it needed deleting, but Hitman didn't do the job, but other tools did and CCleaner is a great tool to easily clean temp files where garbage lingers waiting for an internet connection to download more malware :-)
@TheBuckbull - I have process Explorer on my USB sticks and external drives along with a bundle of other programs. I will post an article as to what I carry on a USB stick in the near future :-)

On the good side, though, the malware is gone too. -.-'

Instead of opening the sites in a 'new tab' and spamclicking the 'return' button, just click on 'Cached' under the links of the google search results

What should I do if the TDSS rootkit that's on my computer doesn't allow me to open any programs? ".exe is not a valid win32 application"

It's not an easy task to put a few hours of work into a 10 minute video but it works. Thank you all for your kind comments and support :-)

Speaking of rootkits, could you do a video on how to use GMER to detect rootkits?
From what I know, TDSSKiller is updated only once in awhile. In this case, do you think GMER would do a better job?

HitmanPro is a bit overrated.
Ccleaner is so much underrated. It is one of the best (and simple) apps around.
Malwarebytes is... well, just top notch.
This was one of your best videos cotojo.
Thanks, and you do deserve more viewers.
A handshake from Portugal,
Jose.
