Your tutorial on FB are a great learning tool for my non profit IAIP Insurance Assoc. of Insurance Professionals. Could I have the download videos? I am sending to only our membership as a learning tool. Thanks Connie Rose
The instructions I was following said, "type a.out". However, whenever I did that, I got 'a.out: command not found'. Although you also said the same thing, you actually typed './a.out'. It appears you must include a path or your compiled program is interpreted as a command and not as an executable.
Ubuntu 10.10 (I can't speak for others) comes with gcc already installed and it does not need to be downloaded. Just open a terminal window and away you go!
I can programe a little bit in C, but I've never used linux before so thx for the information how to install gcc and start coding. It has really helped. :)
@Fixiv Well, actually is only C, not C++, in C++ you need to return a value, even if it is the main function. In the example of the video it doesn't return a value. Otherwise, if I wouldn't see this video, I would not be able to compile in C++. Ahh, I forgot it, gcc is only for the C lenguage, to compile in C++ you need G++, if you "only" install g++, it will automaticaly install gcc, so, it's even better :) @403forbidden403 Thanks for the video. Gracias de verdad.

After compiling, can you run the program without using the terminal/bash?
because clicking on it doesn't do a thing.

guys are doing it in linux because how to get for windows???
sorenhussaini 1 year ago
@sorenhussaini If you are using windows you should use Microsoft Visual c++ Studio Express, instead of GCC.

@sorenhussaini
windows is harder to use....
