How thick is the spine of the blade? Can you get the blade coated? Is it available with a kydex sheath? What type of a handles can you get it in? And is it a full tang blade?
@sukurikm This knife works great for gutting and skinning animals, we have tried it last year on a couple deer and it worked great. The best part was that the grip was still good when a little wet, you wont be dissappointed in this knife.
@mQtek I am not super familiar with the TOPS Steel Eagle 107C but I can assure you this Buck S30V knife will stand the test of time, I love it and can guarantee you wont be dissappointed in it. :)
@sweetknives I thought so, It looks really cool as well. I think I will get this one, great video, only video review I found on here. Just keep it up, I'm subbing for sure. :)
@howryadude I have used this one on a couple trips in the woods cutting everything from wood and deer. If you are thinking of buying a great knife that will last your whole lifetime, this would be a great choice, guaranteed forever. :)
great review! just bought this knife for this years elk hunt (in 1 week) looks like it will be perfect! the grippy texture that is on the blade there is for better control while skinning. there are parts of the skinning process that are easier when you choke up on the blade and hold that back edge of the knife with your thumb and forefinger - looks good, but serves a purpose too! just FYI...
@boozehound2010 Did you get a chance to use it on an elk? I've been looking for a knife tough enough for elk because every season it seems like everyone around me (myself included) go through about 3 blades to skin our elk

I got all excited about this knife until I saw that the handle is specific for a right-hand grip. D@mn. Good review anyway.

the part of the knife you said felt like a file is for striking flint to start a fire

I was looking for a new knife for deer season. Have you tried this on an animal yet? How does it hold up with blood on the handle?

i got sick of the more modern looking blades that i was buying and just wanted to get a more classic style knife...great job buck.

I feel like the non-glossy part is to make it so when your skinning and such that it won't stick?
just a guess

would this knife be good for wood prossesing (batoning, splitting, choping, kindleing) also does it have a 'hefty' weight?
