@Xephirox900 You want to be dealing damage in the teens or 20's: if you aren't then you should level up until you are. You should really only attack after he does his stab attack, which you WANT to jump over because it can kill you in about 2 hits. Don't use a full combo on him or you'll activate his counter explosion. As for his second phase, it comes down on how good you are at predicting where the daggers will go. On Nightmare it's pretty tough, but not impossible if you keep at it.

@Xephirox900 You should have the second set of equipment (the set I'm wearing in this video). If you want to, you should upgrade the sword as ever much as you desire. But the most solid way to increase your damage is to level up a few times fighting the monsters in the dungeon before the save point. These games tend to require a certain range of levels to beat a boss, and if you aren't in that range then you won't deal a lot of damage and you'll die pretty quickly.
