The GSA comes with a factory plug in for the BMW gps that the dealer sells which works perfect because you plug it in no nothing. You also have the socket next to the seat which is standard on both GS and GSA. Ill save you time.money and headaches if you take my advice and go with the BMW GPS. Its made for all weather, factory mount took 2 mins to install. Aftermarket gps's can vibrate to shit and break...Have heard a few stories!
Exactly! Mount the GPS where you want, the GSA comes with the bar already (Where mine is) then look under the headlight area and theres a water tight plug already stock wired. Takes literally 2 mins to install. The BMW gps cable is just long enough for you to run the wire so you dont even have to zip tie loose cables or anything, its just one wire with male end that plugs right it so its simple : )
Buon Giorno Signore Pagano, thank you for your reply on my recent comment.Seems that your bike is still registered in Bavaria Germany(4:41)???. Which Bavarian like County is it? It has a mile reading odo (beside my thought it would be a Euro Model, maybe Great Britain Specification?).
You wrote you fetched it at the factory. Did you have the chance to make a guided tour through that mill? Have you shipped it from there, or have you made it on your own, like the "Long Way Round" Guys? ;-)
Ciao bona sera! I used my friends address in Bayern because he was military. when I shipped to America I had to switch the odo to MPH. I wish I could do Long way Round! One day I will : ) I did all E.U then alaska to Panama and back to San Diego California. I did the tour of BMW Welt auto factory. I miss Europe very much : ( Its better than "America" I lived in Toscana Italia and loved it. I will save up for a year visa so I can eventually marry a girl so i can stay forever!
Out of curiosity, how much weight do you think you've added to the bike with these mods? Performance must be suffering, surely? Any engine mods? Mine is stock and I can't imagine adding more weight. If anything i'd consider mods to reduce it. Your bike does look good tho...if a little madmaxish. The carbon BMW logo is wicked.
Youre telling me mate lol! This bike is already too heavy! So far the only heavy noticeable mods are the pannier rack and crash bars. I installed a lithium battery,Ohlin shocks, straight pipe with carbon fiber exhaust eliminating the CAT and removed the smog canister (USA models) So actually weighing it at work the bike is now LIGHTER than stock with all the shit on it lol! Engine mod is Power Commander and K&N air filter for highway use, stock filter for dusty roads. =)
Bike is looking really good. I really like the tank bash plates you've installed, any chance you could recommend me where I could get a pair? thanks mate.
Hope youre doing good Mr D! I picked mine up in Italy and dont remember the shop name. As soon as I get back back home in 3ish weeks ill hop on my computer and look up the site for you : ) Just make sure to remind me in few weeks! Talk to you soon D.
@dlanz197 Hi, I think most of that guard, guard, guard Accessories is made by the german Touratech Company. Just Google Touratech. Don`t forget, as your account losses money, the bike will increase in weight simultaneously...
Very nice Im a Harley guy buy I would like one of these too. What seat seat you get to compensate for the high stance of the r1200gs adventure vs the lower r1200gs. What is the seat height after installation.
Nice! Couple of my friends have Harleys as well and Ive ridden a few but they are a little more expensive than the GSA's. One day Ill get a Harley though because they are beautiful machines and feel solid. Check out video #4, I made a video covering all the details on the seat that will answer all your questions : )
Greetings Brother Nick... what type / brand of helmet cam do you use and whats it plugged into (type of camera / camcorder / power supply)? Again thanks for all the vids you've done!!
What up bro! I use the VIO POV 1.5 I think its called. Its fairly big and uses 4 double AA batts. You can edit on the go. It fits in my pocket and the cam mounts to side of the helmet with velcro strap for easy removal. It is expensive and ppl will tell you tou use GO PRO and others but I dont recommend them. Can get shots all the time, plus its a hugde box where ever you mount it lol. Anyways when I returnt to the states Ill make a vid for you. Cool?
Oooohhh!!!! I knew I missed something lol! Im trying to fit England in the route. Im currently in Sienna Italy. Ill will keep you posted though. Would love to vist : )
Where did you get those extra cylinder crash bars and also the final drive skidplate. I looked at touratech and wunderlich and cannot find either of them
Hola! The power commander broke. The wire that plugs into the O2 censor near the exhaust filled with water and made the bike sputter and not run right. I had to pull over on side of the road and fix it. Need to buy a new one! I will email you, ill be in Italy 26 May : )
How goes? Good to see another video from you. I've always enjoyed watching all of them. The bike hasn't looked any better my friend. It would be great to see some riding videos of you, especially when you travel over to Europe. Keep things on the rubber and ride safe.
nick , does 12GS Adventure come with cigarette power adapter for gps or do you have to install it separately ?
