I don't know where in the world you are hearing people are predicting him to be Wayne Gretzky, that's the most insane thing ever. I have been reading tons of Tavares articles for months now and there has not been one comparison to him. People don't even think he will be the next Crosby, Ovechkin, or Malkin. So I don't know where you are hearing this stuff. No one thinks he is a generational talent, people just think he is going to be a great goal scorer in the league.

He is nowhere as good as Ovechkin, Malkin, or Crosby.

BUT, he is a VERY good goal scorer and will be one of many to turn the Islanders right around. Just thinking of him and Okposo playing together should be scary to many teams.

If I could compare him to anyone in the league in terms of what he has the potential to become, it's either a player like Jeff Carter, Thomas Vanek, or Jonathan Cheechoo.

Tavares has been compared to Gretzky and is already much better than Duchene breaking Gretzky's record of most goals scored in a season in the minors. Did duchene score as much as Tavares? No he didn't. Therefore he is shit.

Do you know why no other guys can get as as many quality shots as Ovechkin does dumbass? Because they are not skilled enough, not as good skaters, nor as good in puck handling. They can't get past the oppositions defense but Ovechkin does. actually you have two good goalies and another that could be great but is injured for all but like 10 games every season also i would like to say the avs had a bad season last year because all of our most important players were injured imagine if almost all of the guys on your top 2 lines were gone and you had to have guys with no nhl experience play? hmmm??? any team would have a bad year so fuck you and ovechkin is sucessful because he has people to pass to him there arent any on the islanders
