I have the mark III with a 5.5" blue tinted barrel. Have put around 500 rounds through it the first day i've had it. Stock sights were RIGHT ON. I think i'll make a review too. Something short and sweet, maybe a video or two of it at the range.
Hello - that looks like a mighty fine gun. I have the 22/45 slabside which has a 4 1/2" barrel and it is a real pleasure to shoot. I am seriously considering purchasing the gun you have. I have 4 Rugers already. 2 are Mark II and 2 are Mark III. I was hoping that with the extra bbl length my distance accuracy would improve. Would you think this to be so? Thanks. Sincerely, JAMES
@AlamoCityCello Hi-Viz sights are very long and therefore decreases the sight radius. That means that it decreases the distance between the front and rear sight. One of the key advantages of carrying a longer handgun is for the longer sight radius, to give you more accuracy. The Hi-Viz destroys that.
$425 is NOT reasonably priced, when u consider a standard Buckmark is HALF that. Buckmark has a better trigger, and barrels are easier to purchase and exchange, (no FFL needed). The HiViz sight is something waiting to break. Sight Paint on the front sight is all u really need. Mounting a scope/red-dot on a pistol is not for me. I'm old-school, shoot with the irons.
The Buckmark is a great pistol, but the Ruger MK III Hunter 22/45 is not standard. the standard Ruger is 1/2 the price also. The Buckmark Hunter (MSRP $459) is the closest gun to This Ruger model(MSRP $532), but does not have a ss barrel. as for the Hiviz sights i think it is a great option. they are durable. if you want change barrels that up to you. both the Ruger and the Buckmark have different models to choose from. I am showing you what I got.

I have the Hi-Viz on my carry gun right now and I hate it. I am waiting for some Mepros.
The only time I see the Hi-Viz better is when it is bright out, and at that point, I don't need anything but iron.

@bigjayrawls HiViz sights tend to snag. I wouldn't put one in a hoister.
