He looks like very much to Turks believe it or not, he has the same pride, dignity and honesty in asia minor. And loves his country as piece given to protect from God.
Thank you for uploading this song 50 plus hours in a cabinetry shop and if im not there im working on the farm with my brother and uncles everything in this song is true
@philipstout93 I feel the same about my dad. I remember waking up at 4 or 3am when school was out, pack the lunch, get in the truck, put your hard hat on and get your ass to work. This song is my dads life...and he likes it like that.
I remember Aaron when he had trouble carry ice in a coal bucket out to the airplane back in the late 70's. We both flew out of Stevns Aviation Greer, SC and now he can carry a tune with out the bucket. Proud to have know you. Wounder if your still flying your own plane?
@Boots1282 .. he just released a new CD ... it's covers of "trucking" songs.. it's a good one.. before that in 2009 he released a CD .. and he's currently on tour..
Love this song. I just got my 2nd Master's degree, but I grew up poor and can appreciate a hard day's work. I'll never forget the long summers laying asphalt on highways in western Kansas to pay for my schooling.
I think all students should do some real work, so many of my classmates had rich parents that paid for everything. You can't blame someone for being rich, but you think their parents would encourage them to go out and do some real work once in their life.
I play this song at karaoke every so often. I also earned my PHD when I worked at a library for nearly two years, on top of attending the college the library served. I wish I still had that job.... I also believe I earned my PHD a few years before that, when I made a 50 mile one way commute to work a ten hour shift at a Target warehouse. I hope this qualifies me for my "Workin' Man's PHD."
@jduckworth75 that is the hard truth and best comment on youtube ive ever seen on youtube, all you college grads with degrees waitin for a 100k job to come up because yours simply too lazy to pick up a hammer or a shovel just know theres plenty of mexicans that will, you people are fucking your own country, if you agree thumbs up jduckworths comment
@burkey426 No, there are 2 different types of people. People who are fine with doing the same thing over and over and over and over, the mum people who don't have the mind set to do the work of a college grad, then there are the people who have ideas and new ways of thinking, these are the people who YOU just insulted, who are your boss' boss.
Free market capitalism needs both types of people and there is NO reason to look down and insult your fellow man, that isn't what this song is about.
@deer24689 you are right but in my trade collage idiots with no experiance have no busniess being a boss cause they dont know how!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is all good on paper but try and apply it in the field and it dont work then call the boss and they have no answers cause they dont know and they come to the people that do...... the ones that have done it!
College is a big scam...what? go to college and sign your life over to frannie mae? to get a piece of paper that doesn't guarantee you shit if anything a job a mcdonalds? and that bs somehow proves you are an expert? an expert in the bullshit department. this country is over...all of our good jobs are gone..jobs that didn't require a college education but you could still provide a decent living for your family...its time that the people of this nation stand united and take our country back!
this song is for EVERYONE who has an honest job it fits perfect it goes hand in hand with hardhat and a hammer by alan jackson so y'all take it to heart.
@superstewie1982 this is a song for everyone who has an honest hard working job and he is telling everyone who is lazy to get off there ass and get a job and stop being a berdon on society and and start being a helping hand to society
yet apparently, no common sense ;) which seems the type of 90% of college grads... (Yeah I'm going to college... for engineering, and joining the army as an officer...)
I have the up most respect for the working men in todays world. Its a shame that there are so many out there that take these people for granted. I have a long line of workers in my family and thats why Im here. Working mans PHD was my husbands theam song and now my sons.
@29nholdin Amen to that! I work for what little I get, but its for my family. I lost everything including my home. My babys depend on me so I still do what I have to. Too bad others dont share in sharing the work.
I've worked jobs like this all my life, 12 hour shifts in a mine mill site hucking 50 lb bags of drilling clay. It's not all that bad but working people do need to loose the survival mode way of thinking clean up their act , most of the guys I work with have a long history of drug use and rap sheets going back years, my partner at the mill site spent the better part of his life in prison, the working class does have an issue working with your hands should not equal being a low life thug.
the working people carry this Country by paying taxes-not the people who want to "redistribute the weath" to the people who don't work and the illegals.
Any 'redistribution of wealth' would come not FROM worker but TO workers. Workers receiving their fair share from the corporate elite, banking insttitutions, and military industrial complex which have been 'redistributing the wealth' of worker's labor onto wall street.
@perpetualpeace81 Hey you have a choice in this country, to work , who for, how long, and how many jobs. I'v had in with good pay and bene's and I had some poor one's. At no point did I look for a hand out or feel the people who I worked for owed me any of the wealth the worked for. You cannot hold the entire american way of life accountable for a few that use capitalism as a means to steal. Crooks are crooks no matter what system your in, here in the USA the Gov't houses most of the crooks!
every day the character of this country changes because of the people we choose to admire. rarely do we admire the people with honor like Tippin, Mandela, Carl Sagan.
We focus on the Paris Hiltons, the GOP & Democrat liars, the TIger Woods's, the reality tv stars.
when we fail to emulate men like Tippin, we're in a sorry state.
@kuwinsitall I agree with you. I grew up on a farm and my grandaddy and Daddy instilled southern values in me. Always be truthful, Never be dishonest, if you want it work for it, never steal, be kind to others, and the list goes on. I grew up wrking that farm, I have my PHD (Post Hole Digger's Degree). It's sad that kids now days have no clue what hard work is. They think working McDonald's is hard work, let's go work on the farm a day, eh? It's a sad state indeed.....
and a working woman pH.d we work hard to pay for our children's home &living (you men might Carrier around term balls that get you up and throwing a lunch box in a pick up truck but i also put my brown bag in a pickup and get the balls to go to work but most of the time we cant get a working womens phd.(so their now )but this song is my inspiration every day
@kathyharvey so very true! i have lefted 50 pound i work as hard as a man can! i had a supervisor who said i could out worl some of the guys on our crew!
@queenlayna Aaron Tippin is what kids should grow up to be! He knows the value of a good hard day's work, it's a shame that most kids now days don't. I think making them work would keep them outta trouble, outta jail, off drugs, and make the place a bit better, but you'll always have those that want to sit around and allow others to take care of them. After losing my job (out sourced) I am having a hard time finding anything, so this song makes me go! Aaron's always been like that.
