  • makes you think of the Amenicans that charged into battle against these things. MG=My God....

  • Love your builds! How difficult is it for you to refurbish and get these into firing order again?

  • @SavageJim01 Thanks. It really depends on how bad the reciever is cut up or demilled before the build. The cleaner the cuts the better the build, plus you really have to know how a certain weapon works inside and out and how parts go together.

  • Didn't know they could change the barrel like that.

  • The germans had some major smarts when they thought bout that quick barrel change

  • @SuperSuckit17 When u fire1500 rounds per minute u have to change the barrel realy often :)

  • I love this weapon.

  • Beautifull! *--*

  • holy crap

  • whats happening if you shoot while changing the barrel?

i mean open the side put out the barrel and shoot?

  • @Abensberg Nothing. The firing pin would still be held back within it's bolt head locked by the rollers, which do not speard apart until they hit the barrel cam.

  • Probably the most devastating machine gun of WW2.

  • @panathageorge did you forget the browning 50 cal

  • I read somewhere that the M-60 is just a derivation of the MG42

  • @BKK19

Pretty much. We (THe US) reduced the fire rate and a few other things, but it is essentially a modified MG42.

  • @BKK19 Yes, it is... USA and all other allied forces compelled GERMANY to pay their price for starting war by selling their patents and trademarks!!! As they say, "WINNER GETS ALL AND LOSSER LOSSES EVERYTHING"

MYHEART GOES FOR ALL GERMANS WHO FACED ATROCITIES OF ALLIED FORCES

  • God damn that thing is scary! Makes you wonder why we ever decided to cut back on the RPM on current MG's.

Nothing like 14 bullets in 3/100ths of a second to make the enemy put their heads down and their white flags up!

  • you should do this with some of your other machie guns, make a series

  • LoL.Cam should be shittin it's pants up.At least I would!

  • Now THIS is the true "SAW"

  • my grandfather was in the Wehrmacht, he was 19 years old .... ..... after the invasion of american hatt his complete equipment reserve, including a k98 with 60 bullet, a mg42 what he has stolen awith a boyfriend, with 200 ammo....today is the wooden box with us in the attic ... sorry for my bad english... but I've never dared to shoot it: D

  • @BoxeurAllemand That gun is worth more than many brand new cars in the US.

  • wow!!!

  • HOLY CRAP!!!! How anyone made it past one of those is amazing. I guess just lay low until the reload. Ive never seen a barrel change on one before. That was FAST!!!

  • cool!!!!

  • dear santa: this is what i want for x-mas ! please please pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  • When you stop thinking about the gun, and think about the people it was pointed at.

    Makes you sad.

  • Still sweet after all these years. BUT, who has $40,000 for a gun???

  • Excellent video. I love all your Point Of View videos - they really show what it's like to be the man behind the gun, or the man in front of it! Keep on making these videos! It would be nice to see some videos showing the loading sequences of the weapons to get a idea of what they're like to operate in real life.

  • wait for the barrel change

  • I suppose that's one way to mow your lawn.

  • Id like to shoot a clip with the bone-saw, but sadly NATO bitches have forbidden THIS PERVERT rate of Fire..... u know what the Standard Machinegun in German army is???

Its a slower shooting, Nato cartridge MG42..... HELL YEAH!!!!

  • Barrel change mechanism looks so fast. I bet a well trained crew got very slick.

  • Made in Germany

  • Thats what got my uncle on Omaha Beach

  • @RiverAveGuy how do you know that?

  • I got to admit it doesn't look as fast, as i would have expected it.

  • @CoIdHeat Well.. it is a weapon from middle 1943.. So.. i think it is a impressiv fire rate og a gun from that period..

  • Awesome clip, I would be frozen with fear if I ever had to go up against that.

  • @swedishvolvo imagine 4 of them firing out of pillboxes.

  • That is absolutely amazing. Never seen one fired before. What a great piece of German Technology, RH DSD

  • Still an impressive gun...

  • Fantastic close up footage....amazing.Thanks for posting......i learnt something from this video.

  • The 1st extra $30,000 I get I am SO buying one of those!!!!

  • No thank you my friend :)

  • My dad never talked about ww2 all he said was you just heard a gun go off like a zip & just see your mate's drop i wonder he was referring to this gun ?????? rip dad

  • Awesome video, thanks for the post, kinda brings it home what the soldier see's on the "wrong" end of this weapon!

  • must have taken serious bollocks to take down a mg42 nest, but it was done time and time again. lest we forget.

  • @bigsnowaowan haha great point man...Im guessing your British by your use of the "bollocks"////My grandma is English and A Nazi pilot that was shot down actually landed in her back yard

  • @shaddowmoses91 Nazis were POLITICALLY motivated individuals. Most German servicemen were NOT true Nazis, they simply served their nation. The Luftwaffe in particular had very few Nazis within it's ranks. Your use of the term, 'Nazi,' is actually inaccurate and would offend many German vets. For the most part, the Nazis were to be found in SS units.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH That's why the men of the Waffen SS were the greatest warriors of the modern era. Today POLITICS demands every mention of Nazis is accompanied by an obligatory denunciation of their E-E-Evilness. The fact is atrocities committed by the wehrmacht were fewer than allied atrocities.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH The Luftwaffe was full of nazis. as was the Heer. They owed their new lease on life to the nazis and they knew it. They pledged an oath to the fuehrer. Young germans grew up heavily indoctrinated by nazi ideology. They saw themselves as "uebermenschen" and others as inferior and behaved accordingly, especially in the East. Why would a Liverpudlian apologise for the nazis where your own city has suffered so much from their bombs?

  • @DolleDolf You probably have not read much on the actual Nazi's.. less then 10% of all Germans were dedicated Nazis. You may have to do some more reading to get your facts straight. Just because the Luftwaffe or Heer was excited about all the new toys... did not make them Nazis...also this will get your bubble to burst... Less then 40% of all Waffen SS were actually part of the Nazi Party.

  • @JuergenGDB the majority of the waffen SS weren't even German

  • @bigsnowaowan There's why they're known as the greatest generation.

  • my god you can plow field with that thing

  • so cool...

  • ..and still in use

  • @fnfalbrasil nop, thats the mg3 ;)

  • Imagine what a WWII veteran could feel a when he hears this sound. Nowadays this is just a fun video, but back in the day, many people died in front of one of this things.

  • Shoot above it! I'd love to hear those cracks lol

  • in soviet russia mg42 faces you!

  • Norwegian army also use the mg3 :) Heil germania.Nowdays taliban and other muslim scumbags gets a taste of this awsome weapon.

  • fearsome...

  • during ww2 the allies nickednamed this as the buzz-saw :)

  • People like you are the reason people like me have no 8mm ammo.

  • 140 people couldn't take it.

  • is there any up-ward recoil with that mount?

  • @Flamingcat823 Yes, the front leg needs a sandbag on it.

  • @C2builder Or a fellow grenadier's feet. =] Love watching your videos, I am jealous of the ludicrous amounts of firepower you bring to bear.

  • I shoot the Mg 3 in the german army, i never shoot the Mg 42.

I want pull the trigger on this one too.

But i think must go in united states, to make this possible.

  • us and britsh propganda said 'its bark is worse than its bight' yeah sure

  • isnt this the MG3?

(their both the same but one uses steel and has a better cooling system)

  • @alekzander2010 No this is really Mg-42 from 1942. Mg3 is a improved version from 1966. And Mg 3 uses 7,62 × 51 mm NATO instead of 7,92 × 57 mm Mauser Ammunition.

  • yeah, we like to defend our country (-:

  • best mg42 video

  • 0:52 what is he doing? changin a barrel?

  • @oklofobloo Yes, he's changing the gun barrel, because of overheating. During my time in the German army, I changed lots of these barrels. The MG 42 is still in use in a slightly modified version called MG 3. In my opinion an awesome piece of work. Far worthier than newer machine guns made of plastic...

  • @BoeserBiber Shouldn't you change the barrel with gloves? Seems not to be really hot so far.

  • @oklofobloo yes to prevent over heating...

  • Must've been some scary stuff, being shot at with at with one of these.. Damn! Good video! :)

  • Excellent Vid! Nice angles, well done!

  • THIS IS THE BEST INFANTERY MACHINEGUN EVER

  • I start diging a hole in my bad when he started shooting:)))

  • Dear Santa.

  • wish this dude was my neighbor.

  • My uncle Jess Nichols was a WW2 Vet who was wounded at the bulge from a mortar round. I remember him telling dad that besides artillery nothing would mutilate a body like the MG gunner. He said guys that fell to it looked like they ran into a buzz saw. Jess died in 1990. In a 1978 interview I recently saw of a German WW2 Vet who was a MG 42 gunner, he said I did my duty to the best of my ability and I killed them wholesale.

  • i would hate to be your neibor or enemie

  • I wonder what this would be like in 3D......

  • This changes my perception of war.

  • Suuuuure, change the barrel with your hand unprotected, not that its hot or something....

  • @hypnotalex Gonna go out on a limb and guess the barrel didn't even need to be changed but rather he was just showing an example of how the barrel actually can be changed.

  • @SniperX147

We are still using this MG 42 in the Danish National Guard, and change the barrel after about 500 rounds, or if it`s starting to change color fra dark grey to dark red... it depends ono how many rounds it chews in a row... ;-)

  • @hypnotalex He is just showing how it's changed, it wasn't hot, because it'd be smoking at the muzzle area.

  • jeah Made in Germany

  • wow how did you make it, it is wonderful

  • Holy shit. God bless the US troops that had to try and flank one of these.

  • @HesterDW You had 7 seconds while they reloaded: find good cover

  • in soviet russia mg42 faces you!

  • @Waffensuchtler1993 Yes, if you are a soviet

  • @Waffensuchtler1993 Best comment ever

  • Dat barrel change...

  • and ppsh is good for zombies

  • Dear Santa...

  • i love that sound....

  • IM PİNNED DOWN !

  • respect for the brave camera that stood in the line of fire

  • ITS THE POWER!!!!!!!

  • it eats the bullets like candys:)

  • Now I want to play Day of Defeat: Source.....

  • real name Hitlerssäge= Hitlerschainsaw

  • @giuseppeRraimondo

no its called Hitlersense = Hitlerscythe

  • We have that on the Leopard-2 tank in the swiss army. Was rather fun shooting that thing.

  • l love germany's everything

  • In Germany it is called Hitlersäge (Hitlersaw) because it is told that at maximum RPM you were able to cut the allied Soldier in half with that gun. ^^

  • @shortkeen nope, it is the sound like tearing cloth

  • Germany kicks ass...

  • Nice sound. Very intimidating.

  • what a fantastic killing machine, the recoil system handling is ace.

  • German Power!

  • you could hold off the swat team with that thing,

  • Probably one of the most effective and simple things the germans ever made

  • what rpm is this firing at

  • @p1nkAcid 1200 rounds per minute

  • I'd use this in cabine fever, or desert fox

  • Made in Germany

  • 1 564 302 people faced the Mg42 and 134 died

  • I wouldn't need to face it, I would be behind it. :)

  • Bravest camera man in the world....

  • @foot1piczocom he set the camera on a stand and put it at different angles....

  • @foot1piczocom Theres no camera man in this video. He probably just stuck the camera on a tripod and put it down :P.

  • C2Builder, awesome video. Thanks for making it. I've wondered a time or two what the experience was like on the receiving end of one of those. From your video, I imagine it must have been terrifying.

  • Wait for the barrel change then take em out ;-) Greeeetz from Germany!

  • @DrWitchfinderGeneral Wait for the barrel change, then run the last 400m that are left....to find out that the barrel is changed after you made some 50m...

  • Germany= Best guns Best cars Best beer And a nice place

just a shame about its army...

  • @VxluckytomahawkxV rly? whats wrong with their army?

  • @MrHooodoo yea. whats wrong with them.

  • I would not want to be the rifle platoon pinned down behind that low berm, I might just shit my pants, and just curl up into a tight ball....to think that our soldiers in world war two actually faced down this weapon....it's incredible.

  • @GodOfWar221 we uses them still in denmark in our army, as light support weapons, modified ofcourse, we call,s them mg52 . and i tell you in iraq, i was fired upon by terroists whit this gun too, (not modified) it was not fun i tell you,

  • to me, that is the sound of WWII

  • i want to know how much would 1 of those guns cost i want to collect some WW2 guns

  • i would shit of my pants..

but i thought someone really face it..

  • saving private Ryan!!!

  • This video is great and amusing for us young folk but I can imagine it would quite morbid and terrifying for an Allied vet. The MG42 was easily one of the most feared weapons of WW2 and killed more allied soldier than almost any other weapon (the 88mm cannon would be the competitor). The rate of fire of the MG42 was very fast and distinct for it's time, Allied soldiers were quite frightened the first time they heard it and nicknamed it the "burp gun".

  • It would work well in ma neighbours garden as a strimmer to get the grass down lol

  • It's very sad that Germany is replacing the MG3 by a boring copy of the Belgian Minimi.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl It's not a copy. It's made in Germany and has a lot of differences.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl are you talking about the new MG4? if so, i think they´re very different..

  • Where did you get this gun from?

I know that they are quite sturdy (the Bundeswehr still uses MG42 Lafettes for their MG3s), but how did you get one after all these years?

  • The camera man died in this vid :( lol

  • @CSnakeV English make plenty of guns, we just aren't allowed to use them :\

  • Alright guys and gals, you've asked for it, you've begged for it, now yer gonna geddit... *BRAAAAAAAAAAAKK*

  • @CSnakeV this is a german gun!

  • @jajaheisstleckmicham

And still one of the best guns out there, to pin down a enemy.

  • @jajaheisstleckmicham

Yeah, but this guy BUILDS some of his guns. Why do you think he is called "C2builder"?

  • not bad kameramen^^

  • Is this why the russians started having their infantry run BEHIND the tanks when they charged german positions?

  • Pretty sure i want nothing to do with being on the muzzle end of that thing

  • burst of hell, respect

  • Only a suicidal person could take this on. (Sorry ginger people)

  • I couldn't take it. I shat myself

  • MG-42!! WOW!! A CLASSIC!!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

  • Well performed video. Video taken behind shelter under fire must been technically advanced aranged;)

  • "Maybe you can outrun me, but can you outrun bullet?"

  • you've asked for it ... you've begged for it ... now your gonna get it!!!!

    - thats what she said.

nah but realistically that gun is a beautiful piece of machinery i saw a guy at my range with one of those and he also had a browning .... lol alls that was missing was a call of duty World at war disc.

  • get down!!!MG42!!!Some one get that mg nest!!!

  • 1.5 millionth view!

  • great for zombies

  • @rudoatlas and for people ^_^

  • @rudoatlas **** YOU! THIS IS WAT KILLED THE BRAVE SOLDIERS UP AT D-DAY!

  • @rudoatlas Hey Pal .

1500 Rounds in a Minute - that is what the american Weaponindustry tryes to get in the next 50 Years

  • @daddymhm Theres a gun called the prototype minigun made by the american weapon industry that shoots about 1 million rounds a minute and has 36 barrels and theres also the metal storm that shoots 1 million rounds per minute and its on here on youtube just check them out.

  • @daddymhm - Yes and no. The problem with 1,500 rounds per minute is that you use a lot of ammo...a LOT of ammo that has to be transported and it is questionable weather 1,500rpm offers you any truly greater advantage than 1,000rpm.

The modern Minimi (aka SAW) or MAG58 (M240 equivalent) are rated at 1,000rpm (in adverse mode) but doctrinally should be fired at about 100 rpm to 200rpm...anything more and the rounds become ineffective.
