One filter I think you should try out is Modcan's 67b. It has a variable number of poles, from one to eight! That's up to 48db of attenuation! Obviously, it's a beast.
@Desmaad I am a massive fan of modcan, but I do not think Marc has much plans of buying a modcan modular, he has said to me he is not a massive modular fan
the whole thing depends, the basic starter is 120 bucks a month and they send you a module a month, until you've reached $1440 bucks or so. and thats a small system. They all range from that price to 14,000 dollars or so. a few under 2,000 but not many...189 dollars is just for that one module, but you need 3 modules before you can even add sound modules like that (and a 450 dollar keyboard)
Actually, you can use any keyboard with MIDI out as long as you have the MIDI input module. Why you'd hook this monster up to a Casio, I have no idea..unless you build a wood cabinet around the Casio.
You don't have to build your amp around your guitar, why would you build the synth around the keyboard??? Its just a cord. lol seriously though, if all you have is a super basic casio with midi there is not a thing wrong with that. Midi keyboards are so common you can dig them out of dumpsters, thats where I got myne!
In my experience, nothing really compares to a Moog filter. : ) That being said, this filter is more like a Moog filter than other non-Moog-but-compared-to-Moog filters I have used. Someone with a 904a compared them and said they were very similar, though.
Well, compared to the dot com modular I have, the 2600 won't be as powerful, but it will make me happier with what it is, how it sounds, and what it does. : )

what the difference (in sound) to the Transistor ladder as opposed to the Diode Ladder filter?
KaslarProductions 1 year ago
@KaslarProductions the diodes make it resonate differently so the resonance does not affect the other sounds going through the filter

I was only saying that if you spend all that money for a modular, why skimp on the keyboard? What you are saying is true, though. ^_^
Voltor07 2 years ago
There's no need to buy a $450 keyboard; You can get MIDI-to-CV converters for <$200 from both them and other companies.

So, how does it compare to a real Moog filter? Does it sound just as good to you?

The thing that make your demos better, is voice (it's not just someone smashing keys, there's a commentary track).

Thank you. Someday I will do everyone a favor and write out a script instead of randomly babbling!

Sir, I hope to God that synthesizers dot com is giving you quite a pretty penny. These demonstrations are truly masterful.
