@mrbushpilot .. There is no spacific speed...all depends on conditions, weight of the airplane, wind... and if your airplane has a STOL kit... this airplane (in the video) can fly at full flap with the airspeed indicator at "0"... so, you gotta go by feel.... when loaded with this plane final approach I'll fly at 65 knots full flaps and bleed the speed off as I approach the landing area... at that point I'm not looking at the airspeed anymore.
@jmr604 cheers. Im getting the feel for it now. Got a horton STOL kit on the one im on now, got 35kt level and 65 or 60 works pretty well for most of final coming up to flare.
Just thinking that at max gross with 1200 feet of runway, you can always put it down but you may not get it out. Different flying up there though. In AZ we may have to deal with a cloud once in a while.
There is a lot of low cloud and fog in this area because James Bay is ice covered and often at times when forcast is clear skies, low cloud and fog will blow in off the water.
Im just starting in the 206. What approach and threshold speed do you use? Do you find you have to leave a bit of power on for landing ever?

I was dropping things off, so I was taking off empty. I told them I would not be able to takeoff with a load until the snow melts more.

He is kind of a bush pilot i think. He has to land where people need him to. Probably hunters.
