  • Nice bass

  • mmbahoo mmbahoo !! Jambo Jambo !! lol

  • they should make music again, it would be great !!!

thank you for the video (hq ) very nice !!!!!

this is one of my favorite bands

  • Matthew Asham looks like John Frusciante at 80s

  • cmon this shit sucks REALY?

  • @ehyyyo I don't trust the opinions of rap fans ( yes, I have visited your channel ), .. the worst kinde of "music" inexistence.

  • @Skulldini LOL

  • I take it this one was like NEVER shown on MTV back in the day, because this is the first I've ever seen it!

  • @MattHatter Good Lord, it was shown all the damn time! They were MTV darlings.

  • @jehouse Well I certainly remember "I Want Candy" and "Do You Wanna Hold Me" being shown a whole lot, but for some reason, I don't recall this one at all!

  • Somadi a mi tell?

  • Wa a si seh?

afta Chihuahua chihuahua chihuahua chihuahua hua hua hua hua hua Chihuahua?

  • wha si se aft

    chuwahwah chuwahwah chuwahwah chuwahwah

wo wo wo wo wo chuwahwah ...

  • Zarija Clabatti's geschenk aan een eerstgeborene

  • Watching this with a huge grin on my face..... my sister and I LOVED Bow Wow Wow when we were kids and made our own 'video mix tape' from bits off of the TV. This was on there. :)

  • Another bit of awesomeness from Christmas past.... Didn't know of the video until now. Greatly appreciated.

  • @half1962

    She's still kicking.

  • wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Psychedelia was alive and well in the early 80s. :-)

  • Malcolm McLaren discovery. He was a trend setter.

  • @ChasBeauregarde No he was a thief!

  • This is maybe my favorite Bow Wow Wow song. I used to be sooo psyched when this would (very rarely) come on the radio ca. 1983...wonderful.

  • I was 20 when See Jungle! was released in 1982 and I played it to death! (That's one my guilty pleasures) And Annabella was like 15 or 16 at the time and, according to Canadian law, illegal when it came to my hyperactive glands! She was easy on the eyes and most likely still is and that vintage Gretsch White Falcon the guitarist always played, 'been almost 29 years now, is also easy on the eyes. 'Not sure how I got into BWW, the kind of band I would have sworn not to like, but they were amazing!

  • glad to finally learn that "chihuahua" is a Greek word...LOL.

  • @cythera431 .

chihuahua noun (chihuahuas) the smallest domestic breed of dog, which has a tiny body and a disproportionately large head with a bulbous forehead, large widely spaced eyes and large ears.

ETYMOLOGY: 19c: named after the place in Mexico that it originally came from.

  • Love the Spaghetti Western sound of this along with the soaring chorus. Definitely ahead of its time. Go Annabella!

  • very nice song. sounds a bit like the sugarcubes. another great band witth a great female singer.

  • @petrusaloisius - who also had a song called 'Chihuahua' coincidentally - or not coincidentally...

  • @phxgator

yes maybe coincidentally....i like strange weird and surprising artistsmusic. Sugarcubes and bow wow wo were one of those bands with a great attitude. Malcolm mclaren with his weird ideas i think hes fun. ANd the Icelandic genius band was a pearl on earth.

  • I wonder where this was filmed? Who were the two female dancers, and where are they today? You can hear the drums, bass, guitar, and, of course, Anabella's voice, really clearly...talented musicians and great production values.

  • I guess McClaren wrote this. Always thought he was manipulative and funny. Just a cunt imo. He couldnt give a fuck when Sid died and I dont give a fuck that hes met his bucket.

  • Malcolm Mclaren recently said in an interview before he died, that he had to fire Boy George who was Luietenant Lush with the band in 80/81, because the other guys in the band were worried he was going to rape them...lol!!

  • @raychris10 McClaren was full of shit. He probably sacked George because he couldn't intimidate him. Total control freak, more of a pimp than a manager to his bands.

  • Their greatest song !

  • this song is rocking

  • bang bang ? ?

    .

    .

    .

  • this band and Adam & The Ants were some of the 80s best.

  • @drnrg31 Then you'll probably like Wide Boy Awake. Do a youtube search for them. Actually they were a couple original Ants.

  • SHITE

  • I think this is one of my favorites from this band. They sure were cool! The 80's were the greatest.

  • @themainproblem Well alot of 80's music WAS shit,.. THIS groupe was actually an exception. Actually, it's pretty much like THAT with every decade.

  • @Skulldini Well said, there are only a couple bands a decade that are worth a damn...

  • @Jangocat Absolutely true! I, myself , am not really partial about decades, 80's or otherwise,.. don't go in for that "nostalgia" business,.. but I really do like THIS groupe allot. They had such a cool and distinctive musical sound ( sort of punkish,.. yet with that real weird exotic quality ) and, obviously, a very talented and sexy female singer with a kinde of quirky bent. Very underrated too ( never quite gaind the status of which I thought they were worthy ).

  • @Skulldini Agreed, it's a shame the US was going from the British invasion to the British metal invasion and new wave/punk never cought on. This band was really unique and under rated. They were a staple of the first several years of MTV though so they will always have a spot in my nostalgic memories...

  • Only Malcolm McLaren!

  • ...hypnotic section starting at :32 ...nice.

  • Vickigirl; Sounds like you're talkin out yo ass !!!!!! Who cares if you have a chihuahua. I have a Dodge Truck ! BIG DEAL !!!!

  • @richard5315 I was just saying JACKASSS

  • Their only song I like is fools rush in.... and I'm starting to not like that too... after only learning about it a few days ago... yeah they're not that great...and I have a Chihuahua... just... just so you know...

  • @vikigirl14997 My cat Mr. Shlitterbottom is as close to being ripe as a fried green tomato that you can get without wearing stretched out glycerin soaked Barbie clothes cooked on "HIGH" in an E-Z bake oven sprinkled liberally with intense vikigirl14997 marijiuana, topped by a dollup of whipped 'LSD' cream and formed into a dog shape who's mold was made when vikigirl14997's chihuahua bravely allowed itself to be kidnapped and "burnt carbon coated" by a high intensity flare gun.

  • @MightySaturn5 What the fuck? haha

  • stupid as shit

  • @mangamathys Aren't we articulate.

  • RIP MALCOLM

  • @crashodeane Is he really dead? Oh please please say yes!!! Hahaha!

  • Sounds like music from some old Clint Eastwood Italian western flick .

  • @Skulldini That was one of their musical influences, old Italian western scores. They've said so in interviews.

  • @theawakener7 Wow, they have Gay Clubs now?

  • @theawakener7 I thought George Michael was the closeted Liberace, and Freddy Mercury, the Gay Elvis! Marilyn was the blonde tranny version of Dave Hill from Slade.

  • That was Boy George, wasn't it? (Female Adam Ant) Hang on, no, can't have been, because that would make Adam Ant the Male Boy George, and he doesn't look any more "male" than George. So, erm,. . . Adam Ant was the Female Adam Ant, how does that sound?

  • HEAVEN, HEAVEN and more HEAVEN!

I LOVE this track and the video is the most Tribal of all. The Westwood gear is just STUNNING. I adore Bow Wow Wow

  • Damn, this takes me back to my adolescence! I had this song on vinyl waaay back in the 80s. To me this is Bow Wow Wow's most haunting song. Annabella was so beautiful, and what a sweet, belting voice.

  • Burundi drums are not Native American.

  • burmese drums ? - maybe they're on a linn drum machine.

  • Amazing. Whats more amazing this is the first time I have watched this video again since '81 (spring I think - on Tiswas saturdy morning)?

  • Video made me think of m.i.a.'s "sunflowers" ... But this song's cooler..

  • I think know how Shakira riped her song off!!

  • @asther113 grammer?

  • @TheYazoo321 maybe grammar.

  • @asther113 Welcome to the music industry.

  • P.S. Only kidding. I love this ong.

  • Bwaaaahaha. Good one :)

  • As a "Foreign Savage Pagan Degenerate" I was so about to let rip at you for this comment, but then I read your disclaimer below. Had to laugh.

    Doesn't even sound American?

(And who said Yanks have no sense of humour?)

    Word.

  • seriously I think they take so much from adam ant wether it be the drums or singing I'd prefer adam ant over these pussies any day

  • he copied Bow wow wow. The band were ex antz after all

  • Amazing drums and bass. Leigh Gorman(bass) is on myspace.

  • Burundi Drumbeats, multitracked. Powerful stuff, isn't it?

  • not muti tracked you are listening to the genius of Dave Barbe & Liegh Gorman

  • Geeza, I know what, and to whom I'm listening , and on the studio Album, (See Jungle) that this track is taken from, the drums are multitracked, (twice, actually) and

played a little out of sync. Nowadays, you would give the drum track a little phase to get the same effect, but they didn't have digital phasers back then.

  • well then answer me this...how comes when they played live they didnt MULTITRACK then??? and still got the same sound...curiuos isnt it. no doubt you gonna enlighten us all, maybe it was a monkey out the back

  • I don't know. I wasn't there. Maybe they had a fucking monkey out the back.

  • The band is actually Adam's Ants!

  • So goddamn beauteous. All of em.

  • DING DANG DOO

  • This is the first time I've ever heard this song. You know what? It's leagues and lightyears above and beyond anything that passes for music today (yes, Stacy Ferguson, I'm talking to you).

  • Yep... you are so right...;-)

  • Great sound !!!!

This tune make me soul moving.

    アフリカンな音に心踊ります!!!

  • thanks for this , not a favourite song as such, but i did pick up the 12" version out of the bargain bin :) i had a big crush on her back in those day's LOL CAPITAL.... A for Annabella XD

  • what the fuk

  • Now Now Ladies! Kiss & make up, or stf up, there's good people!

  • CHIHUAHUA THE GREAT STATE FROM MEXICO

  • Glad this vid is back up on again... Ms Lwinn is a delight... as always... Fab to see all the vintage Vivienne Westwood... I think it is great shame Annabella never went on to get really really big... but... she was just a bit too feisty, too cool, too exotic, too mouthy, too sexy... and... too fantastic at the wrong time... and... once McLaren wasn't around anymore, they were pretty much without any direction... making just flop after flop.

  • one hit wonders and it was a cover.lol.annabelle is still sexy and loves a good seeing to.

  • Oh dear... there is someone who can't do his math (re. hits)... and, as far as 'a good seeing to' is concerned, I suppose you'd like to volunteer for the job?

Funny really, 'cause I am sure, she wouldn't suck your lousy dick if she was suffocating and there was oxygen in your balls.

  • ROFLMAO, well said salad tosser, You have cracked me up. I am a straight guy,but i bet you are one funny person in person. We do share a love for similar music and i am a child of the 80's. Keep the funny comments rolling.Just joking about the nome de tube!!

  • No offence taken, Arrowhunter... I am always up for a good toss... salad or otherwise.

As for my previous comment, well, some deluded needle-dicks deserve to get nailed. (NO PUN INTENDED!)

  • You should write for TV or comics {meaning comedians) Puns should always be intended. It's nice to see someone that is able to get the joke as well as take it without a total jihad I think sick humor is the best and you sir have the market cornerd. Bravo.and Encore!

  • I had been following bww music on the tube as well as your comments because I found it highly educational/ entertaining. When I was alot younger and lived in CA. I met annabelle @ a record signing. Big fan of Adam and the Ants as well. Keep the funny rolling. Thanks for the laughs!

  • @macintosser lol!..you're a John Waters Fan too!!

  • @macintosser Wow that was an awesome comment- pls don't hate me whoever was being insulted.. but u have to admit it was witty and graphic...

  • @macintosser i have to say the suffocating comment made me laugh my ass off ill have to borrow that sometime :)

  • @footlovinbear

Cheers, but, if I may make a suggestion as to what would be educational, please watch some early John Waters films... Female Trouble of Pink Flamingos... that'll be more educational than paying me any mind...;-)

  • @macintosser lmao! female troubble..the greatest movie ever=P

  • @macintosser Huh?

  • @macintosser I am sure, she wouldn't suck your lousy dick if she was suffocating and there was oxygen in your balls.

    LOL!

  • @Harrylechat01 Excellent point.

  • I love the twangy Gretsch guitar on top of the HEAVY ass funky bass & drumz. Annabella is really just the cherry on the top for me... ; p

  • If not for Annabella, you mean!

  • great song

  • Alright, let me re-phrase it! THe whole band is amazing. Annabella is beautiful and the mohawk was and still is the sexiest thing out there. Hervoice is fine. The lyrics were not the best and centered around sex the whole time kind of made it redundant. And whoever was the sound engineer or the producer to make the call to make her voice so loud in the foreground made a mistake. THe music is amazing and should have been a bit louder.

  • All Pop lyrics are centered around sex the whole time anyway, always have been, so don't start on the lyrical content, why single BWW out in particular? Haven't you heard Rhianna? Or any other music at all? Cuz I'm pretty sure it's all about sex. (Except for the bits about drugs) And music was a lot more vocally driven in those days That's why you get old farts like me saying "We had proper songs back then, you could hear what they were singing about"

They were singing about Sex, and still are

  • One of my favourite Bow wow wow songs. what an amazing band! I think that Annabella was their downfall. Too bad, they could have taken music in a new direction.

  • Annabella was their downfall?????

    I think NOT

  • NY GOD IS THIS TOO GOOD!!!!!!

  • It diesn't matter what Annabella does, it get's me going. I'm 41 now and wish I was 17 with my mile high mohawk again...aaahhh the good ole days. Damn I sound like my Dad!!

  • The video is not so good, but the song, singing, voice and everything else is 100% perfect! I just love Brits!

  • I don't like it when we're called Brits.

    It's a bit like 'Yanks'.

    Anyway British is too unspecific.

A lot of the band are English.

    Annabella was born in Burma.

  • Brits is patronising by categorising

  • No it isn't, it's just short for British. And nothing like Yanks, (Doesn't even rhyme with Yanks) Isn't Annabella from Burundi too?

  • So do you prefer to be called just "English" or "The English"? I have never like those other terms either. I prefer us being called "The Americans" But that's just me. :-)

  • Britons aren't necessarily English.

Americans don't realise Britain is 3 countries.

  • Exactly - England, Scotland and Wales.

    Not Ireland.

Why would anyone not grasp that?

  • Because with Northern Ireland it is The United Kingdom.

  • The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK, or Britain) is a sovereign state located off the northwestern coast of continental Europe. It is an island country, spanning an archipelago including Great Britain, the northeastern part of Ireland, and many small islands...

You are so smart. I still think Ireland is it's own. Go ahead, be angry with me.

  • Not smart exactly - I fucking live in England and I think I know that Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom.

  • Yeah, I agree - not smart exactly.

Do you have any Irish friends?

Let's all love Bow Wow Wow still.

  • Well we'd better change world maps then because of what Little Miss Smartypants 'thinks'.

I don't need to copy and paste information about other countries.

No I don't have any Irish friends.

    I have one from America.

    And no it's not you.

  • No shit, Kev - absolutely no shit there.

You were smart enough to realize.

I said: Please don't write to me anymore.

Are you also smart enough to comprehend that?!

  • You're right no shit - you're giving me enough.

You ask me a question then ask me not to write to you?

Not the actions of a grade A student.

  • Okay, Kev - you win.

Nevermind rhetorical questions or useful conversation. Just keep up the anger.

God bless you (God, by the way, is with a capital G - but I'm sure you'll argue that too).

  • Only anger against smug idiots.

    I know it's God.

    It's just a name.

  • In the message to me you didn't put a capital G and I can imagine that you don't think much of Him either.

You are the smartest person in the world and I'm so happy to have received my purification from you. I am now fully aware of being an idiot.

I must be - I spend time chatting with you.

  • Four Countries, actually, You sure you British?

  • If you're talking about Northern Ireland, which is only part of a country, then it becomes The United Kingdom not Britain.

    Actually.

  • Fucking Pedant.

  • Ha ha.

  • Wow, I just checked your channel out, you really are pedantic, aren't you?

    Ha Ha!

  • Wow, I just checked my channel out too and there's fuck all that would give that impression.

I couldn't give a shit what you think I am.

At least I'm not some drum geek.

I bet it's not only drums you beat either.

Have a nice weekend polishing your cymbals nerd.

  • The fact you ran straight off to check your channel, speaks volumes.

And why are you resorting to insults?

I'm not asking you to give a shit about anything,

least of all about what I think.

    {{Drum Geek??}}}

  • I didn't run anywhere Mr.Multitrack.

    I'm going to bed now.

  • Why you telling me? You want me to tuck you in or something?

Should have thought of that before you started calling me names then.

  • I was telling you so you wouldn't waste your time if you replied.

But 3 hours later, there it was.

I was asleep by then genius.

  • @hocsoin Yeah, I love the Brits too! Even with those Diapers on!

  • I haven't seen this since 1981, when I was 17. I wasn't impressed then. I've been rediscovering their music, and I'm surprised at how great they sound, and how good the songs were, and fun too. The band was fantastic. Wow. Annabelle is much prettier with her hair grown, and not the ugly mohawk. Too bad about the guitarist. Bow Wow Wow was great.

  • Punk girls with mohawks are THE sexiest look! This song is still so heart warmingly lush..mmm!

  • Too bad about the guitarist ???? Damn, back to rock history 101 for you

  • Didn't he die of leukemia a few years back?

  • complications from diabetes

  • The best drums of all time! They are still great and still touring!

  • mmm

  • This track is so cool.

Not only British but other countries, music

seems to lose creativity these days...

  • This is one of the most favorite new wave tunes.

Thank you so much for posting it.

  • This song totally fucking rules.

"I'm a rock and roll puppet in a band called Bow Wow Wow." That a fifteen year old girl was singing this line just makes me wish we lived in an era where pop music could recapture that angry, self-referential spirit.

  • I still like it, decades after it was released, Back then, if you a "self-reliant" punk. People took turns trying to kick your ass. It wasn't as nice as you nostalgically believe it to be.

  • i always thought is was " i'm a rock and roll pompous " thanks for the info.

  • my fave bww song brill

  • I didn't even know chihuahua was a Greek word.

  • Apparently, it means "Up the wrong 'un" in Greek.

  • Decent song and the sambaesque moves are pretty cool, but the diaper look doesn't do it for me.

  • /-.I.-\ AM thee R n R PUP

    BOOooooooooM

  • Beautiful.

  • Adam Ant's backup band. You could hear the Yeah's from Stand & Deliver

  • This video originally debuted on MV3 in 1981. That was THE video channel before Mtv. Great channel! Obviously, a great band as well!

  • Im also from Chihuahua, but raised in Pittsburg California.

  • Leigh Gorman is a machine.thanks for posting.

  • Makimamma, ADAM AND THE ANTS was more popular also because it had a male lead singer. It was a male (androgynous) dominated era. And second, BOW WOW WOW was too ahead of their game with their hardcore tribal thing going on. Barundi beat really didn't catch on very much globally. Most clubs hardly played this beat at all. BOW WOW WOW just had a lot of style, charisma and great musicianship, which got the band tons of notice.

  • would you say it waS too percussive and the drums were built around the drumbeat instaed of written around the guitar like adam ?

  • The whole sound hangs on those drums, its built around those beats. And remember Marco Pirroni, wrote strings based songs, with a far poppier feel.

Studio techniques were a lot different back then too, less polished,

  • Hahaha i'm from chihuahua mexico

  • lol i'm from chihuahua too

  • i've heard it's a woof area.LOL.

  • Are all three of those girls Lwin? I was sure they were until the end where they all apear together. They all look like her.

  • this song is about anal sex the line in the song says the greeks have a word for it.that must be the reason why they call it chihuahua its about doing it doggy style and anal sex..wow they were ahead of their time.

  • I can roll with the "Chihuahua" and "Doggysex" analogy, that's pretty self evident, but where did you pull the anal connection from?

(And please don't say "Up me arse")

  • And some people say psychelia died in the Sixties. :-)

  • great song

  • trop bien !
