Haha, I love it how people are being so critical of a movie made by a couple of 12 year olds. They obviously tried their best with all the props and the camera angles and such. I can see that they were influenced by war movies and wanted to make their own for fun.

1.) Thats not all entirely true, In war soldiers will carry what ever they find. I've seen pictures of German troops with Russian Mosin-Nagant rifles even Germans with a captured m2 .50 cal machine gun. All you listed were common weapons ISSUED to soldiers. And they weren't limited like that.

2.) This film looks to have been done on a budget and is good for that budget.

Sub machine guns and Carbine rifles were usually issued to a soldier who had a Specialty job such as medics, engineers, squad leaders est.

Also American snipers didn't just use the 1903 Springfield.The Army and Marines used the M1903 early in the war before receiving M1 Rifles.

My great grandfather was issued a M1917 Enfield when in the Army Ordinance Corps in 1944

(Yes it's gArand not grand) In fact they captured so many they issued it under the name Selbstladegewehr 251(a) the (a) stands for American. The Selbstladegewehr 259(r) is a captured russian SVT-40 rifle hance the (r) meaning Russian.

He fought on the Russian front and in france in 1940 and in 1944, he did NOT use a Selbstladegewehr 251 or a Selbstladegewehr 259 or any captured Russian, American or British wepons. He used an MP40 and a Luger. The closest to a Russian gun his pratrol had was a Gehwer 43(Jerry) and 4 PPSH 41's (PPSH 41 is Russian but most germans didn't use them if they had a good enough gun) most Germans had Mauser K98 rifle.

@thebritishww2man Sorry, the Selbstladegewehr 259(r) was very common on the eastern front. The germans captured so many of these guns they even manufactured their own ammo for this gun, which worked better than the Russian made ammo, eliminating one of it's main problems. You have to remember the Gewehr 43 wasn't around for the first two years of Operation Barbarossa. And the Gewehr 41 was a rushed attempt at a semi-automatic rifle and wasn't as good as its Russian counterparts.

@Skringly Another point. There are many records of German soldiers loving the PPSH. It's not hard to see why. It had an increadibly high rate of fire, yet was easy to control. With the Russians mass producing them, ammo was easy to find for the weapon, and like most Russian guns they were rugged and easy to maintain. And I presume you mean that your Grandfather was part of the Heer.

You may have some nice, fancy reenacting equipment, but I'm afraid that doesn't make you a WW2 expert.
