you won't become a marine until Obama is out of office? that's looking out for yourself rather than your "marine brothers". Marines are different breed of people. Marines would die fo you, (and they do), but at the moment of truth im not sure you would do the same. I'm in the Navy myself and I look up to Marines as a whole. I do repsect all of the special forces, however I have to disagree on the rangers. I have known friends in the SEALs and Rangers...and all admit Seals were the hardest to get into (even the Rangers agree based on what they have heard)....but green berets etc are same level as Seals.

Green Berets do a different job than SEALs most of the time. Berets are more recon. SEALs are recon and Direct Action when needed. SEALs preform Direct Action tactics better, simply because they have more experience at it.

I am not a SEAL yet, but in one year I will go to BUD/S. Just now enlisting in the Navy. That said, SEALs are Recon, Direct Action, and patrol. Rangers usually operate in bigger numbers than SEALs. SEALs are harder to get into than Rangers. Green Berets I know close to nothing about.

Yeah man if you have the opportunity to go to college first, do it, and get a degree, then join BUD/s. I'm a senior in high school and I'm going to college for 4 years, while playing sports, running 4 miles a day (to condition for the 4 mile run on the beach) and waiting till winter to swim in colder and colder water. I know it's hard to wait, but everything will work out perfect if you stay patient. Trust me man, the best is yet to come for the patient.

I know plenty of guys doin it that went straight from high school. The college thing is great as long as you dont go to BUDS as a commisioned officer. You only get one shot as an officer and they smash your cock twice as hard as enlisted. Plus and not wishing anything on anyone but what happens if you end up tearing some jonts up or blowin out a knee in the next four years. The longer you wait the more chance you have of sustaining an injury that will hinder your progress in BUDS
