Hostel is too retarded to be that high on the countdown. Planet Terror yes, Death Proof...NO. Exactly...Shaun of the Dead is funny as hell. IT IS NOT A SCARY MOVIE.

I'm a horror purist myself and like all I agree with some of your choices and disagree with others. -Hostel should of been way higher for one, Interview with a Vampire? Really? That barely fits into horror.

Have to admit Jaws should be alot higher, wasnt my favorite but I cant think of another horror movie that totally changed people's behavior. Youd think twice after going into the ocean after watching that.

@MrKozeroff I think Hostel, is in a way, is scarier then most considering it is based off of a true story. When a movie is plausible it sort of ups the scary factor.

I agree they might of overdid it a tad on the gore but I think they were just trying to make a point about how vicious the situation would be.

Anyway horror movies are semi outdated since you can find alot of worse things on the internet.

Other than the Exorcist, The Shining, and Psycho, the list wasn't very good. When Frankenstein first came out, people fled the movie theaters in horror. Though by today's standards it may have not been scary, it was probably the greatest horror movie ever

This is a cool list....some great classics here. I watched Candyman by myself, and spent the next two months looking over my shoulder. I'm not usually frightened easily, but for some reason, that movie scared the hell out of me! Oh and btw, "Dead Silence" is in my top 10 favorites of all time...GREAT movie! But I guess if I had to choose, the Evil Dead movies would be my favorite.

A majority of movies weren't in the order they should have been, some movies shouldnt have been in their, and were was Oldboy, Evil Dead 2, Rear Window, Vertigo, Cape Fear, The Fly, Suspiria, Phantasm, Videodrome, Scanners, The Hills have eyes, The last house on the left, and much much more. You chose a majority of mainstream movies that dont really define the genre.
