Don't know about the wind but the medion akoya doesn't void your warranty as far as know i didn't have to remove any sticker to up the ram just remove the battery and the 9 screws (no hiden ones) and that was it

Intel and AMD both have produced 45nm chips, they are gaining all chunk of markets, by making these old 65nm technology chips, so that they make lot of money and make you buy again and again when they will release the 45 nm with more power scope, less wattage and feautures and possibilty.

BCM70012 is a hardware that will allow you to decode the videos and use very small amount of processing. it is designed for those gay Atom processors (complete junk) and for systems with slow processor and not hardware decoding capacity. NEO is almost 75% more performant that those Intel ATOMs (us we call that Atom "shit for idiots" lol)

not 1 hr you will get almost the regular battery draining when the hardware is able to decode. it takes 10% to 15% processing when decoded by hardware. so you will get almost regular battery usage maybe 10 minutes less.

720P videos even don't play smooth. I saw the cpu at 100% usage when playing them.All codecs installed. the hardware is incapable of playing HD videos, everyone had the same problem.

The webcam simple AWFUL!, i would never use it and embarass myself

the wireless n is not that powerful.

The screen is very nice and high contrast.

The rest features are good

1) it is stupid to play 720p videos on any netbook right now because the typical screen resolution is ~1024x600, and a 720p video is 1280x720. the video wouldn't even fit on the screen and would have to be scaled.

2) playing the video in the first place would be a waste of processing power in itself, but it is likely that the picture you'd get would be terrible because the video would be aliased in the scaling process

3) playing video depends completely on your processor, and every netbook from now probably til the next year or so has the same 1.6GHz intel atom processor. and no netbook has a GPU strong enough to play HD, either.

4) even when dual core CPUs come out for netbooks, i still doubt they will be powerful enough to play HD videos

sorry about your ignorance. playing video doesn't depend completely on processor. usually it is hardware processed in recent chipset, recently hardware enabled video enabled netbooks are coming. 12" Acer Ferrari One is launching soon, new models HP DV2z is already available the recent ones come with ati 3410 that has built in hardware video decoding. also it comes with dual core AMD neo.

I don't have a wind, but I have the eeepc 1005HA with very similar specs. Windows 7 runs very well on it. Pretty much as well as XP, however the graphics chip lets aero down a bit (slight lag sometimes)

i got mine earlier today, and have been using it for several hours--in fact, i'm writing this message with it right now. it's wonderful. the first thing i did was install windows 7 on it and it's working extremely well--just as fast as my very capable desktop. it's excellent for websurfing, and i can even do slightly more processor intensive tasks like making music with fl studio. here's to hoping it stays awesome.

very sorry to hear that your desktop is so less powerful, my vista loads in 3 second in my desktop its a AMD x2 5000 black edition, biostar mobo (biostar mobos are one of the best in performance) DDR2 Mushkin 2GB always only 1 GB(50%) is used, vista could never use the full memory even at full load. total I made the whole system including casing, HardDisk, and everything for $400 2 years back. Benchmarks it kills most core2duos and other AMD x2, it is 2 times faster than my friend's HP X2 6000
