  • Yo man, can I use a 30AESC with 2A5V BEC built in to power extra 2 servos for flaps? Or get a UBEC?

  • @youronlycow Yo back at you, We used the BEC because we have a gyro. extra 2 servos are not a big deal. Still, a BEC is good insurance, not expensive and easy to install. thanks for watching.

  • is the bec necessary? Just setting mine up, but not sure if I should just leave it to the BESC

  • @TorontoR Hi, Thanks for watching. The FY-20A is unstable at low voltage. We run HXT 900 servos that are power hungry. The 2 combined result in brown out conditions and random behavior that have caused crashes. Ever since a UBEC has been used, the Gyros have worked flauwlessly. I would recommend it fully especially in 4ch planes. Also definitely use the vibration tray that comes with the FY-20A.

  • thanks and awesome video by the way, looks like its flying as straight as an arrow! Appreciate the suggestion, I will order a 6A BEC for it since I have 6 of the same servos on the Sky Surfer (two are for pan and tilt for FPV camera). Are you powering it through another battery?

  • @TorontoR we run the ubec of the balancing plug on the same battery. you definitely could run it off a 500mah battery, We built a lead from 3s balance plug to the ubec and that works. sky surfer is rock steady in 20+mph winds. with that many servos and gyro i would definitely run a ubec. i look forward to the videos!
