Hello, I have this problem: I connect with a friend via hamachi, everything seems to be OK, he's the host, but when he opens the game, it freezes and error says there isn't a response from the host ... when I tried to be the host, he couldn't connect either. What problem do we have?

@thekoquin Probably different versions or save files. I'm pretty sure there's a newer version than what i posted here. Make sure you have the same one.

also synchronize the save file, it sometimes causes problems.

Make sure you run as administrator if you're using Vista/7 or it won't have permissions to save.

If you mean that it doesnt even save that, Run as administrator. It's just windows not letting it write files.

Hello. I was wondering if you could help me... I have the game installed, it runs, and I can play it, but it doesn't display the stage background... It's just all white, with everything that's not the background being in color, and right before I get to Gertrud (I think), the game closes itself. Do you have any suggestions to fix this? I'm thinking that I'm missing some files or something, but I've downloaded the game several times off various sites and nothing changed.. Thank you!

whenever my friend and i try to play, if i'm host she gets a "make sure all players are playing the newest version of gsonline" error, and when she's host i can connect fine, but we get a "griefsyndrome.exe failed to start up" error. any tips?

We both go Unresponsive and get the whole "Couldn't connect/wait to connect" pop-up.

What do you do to fix this?

@GoSouseiseki make sure you have the same save file or use the one I provided.

Also set win2000 compatibliity and run as admin. If everything fails ill be available tomorrow to troubleshoot with wireshark

I prefer suiseiseki.

We tried setting the compat. and running as Admin using that Save data.

Still goes unresponsive + "Player disconnected, quit, w/e" error.

Idk if it makes a difference, but we only get to that point when I host; I can't even connect to my friend as a client.

Me and my friend can connect and get through gertrud just fine, but we crash at charlotte, (one oerson gets an error message while the other's game keeps going slow-mo like it;s got super lag) anyone know why? this only happens with GSOnline oAo

Helllllooo I've been having issues with the multiplayer v__v;. me and 2 of my other friends keep trying to connect but we always get a black screen that says not responding. Oh and also does the distance between us have anything to do with why we can't connect to one anothers IP?

@axemen233 it's not. If it's netplay then it means you have horrible latency. I get 60 fps on a 2.2 dual laptop, limited to one core

I tried playing this, and I used a valid port, and my own IP, however, whenever my friend tried to connect, it would not work, and vice versa. It only ever said 1/3 not 2/3

me and 2 of my friends all get stuck at the black screen like YouW00t, and that same pop up with yes or no appears. we moved the save files into the save folder, but still wont work. should the new save file be renamed? cuz there was already a save0.dat in there. q.q and if renaming was right, any other possible reasons?

@96Nathan96 Considering you didn't even know how ports work, You either doing it wrong or you're being a router. Try using Hamachi.

@AlonTavor It is running on administrator. We only have one account on our computers so it automatically runs as admin. Thats just the thing. Idk what we did wrong. Could it not be compatible because we have different -bit OSes? (my friend has a Win7 64-bit and I have a Win7 32-bit)

Either the host's ports aren't open, or a firewall is blocking you.... or you just entered the wrong address

try using hamachi.

KK I got a second problem, me and my friend got connected fine, we got past black screen and character selects, and we can play the game fine, except the sav file doesn't save out laps so every time we have to start at lap 1 and sometimes we don't even get halfway through lap 2 before one of us has to go. and then the next time we have to start all over again....

It seems that some save files have problems, I've spent hours debugged this problem and it seems one side just stops responding and doesn't send a packet containing the "Highest lap" For synchronization.

If that also doesn't work, Win2000 compatibility.
