Beavers in the US alone kill over 6 Billion trees a year. with an estimated population of 20 million beavers, each cutting and or eating the bark of one tree per day.

There where a lot more trees before eauropean settlers got here and a lot more beavers as well. So i'm sure a beavers natural order is not the threat it's deforestation of man.
