@CoryCeeTuts You have to develop an ear for sampling. This sample is from the game 'Amnesia: Justine' and I found it when I was digging around in the game files.
Thank you for this tutorial, it is really helpful!
Also I searched a little bit and I found that you use samples from Sample Magic. So if someone is searching for them, go to their website samplemagic (dot) com.
@danmos18 I found myself automating my master level on the synth group mixer to 'duck', instead of sidechaning everything using a compressor - quicker, get's it all sorted at once.Hope this helps you in reason too :)
can you side chain by connecting your chosen drum directly to the sidechain in on the comp or do you have to use a merger/splitter? would be alot easier to go direct.
Dude, this is sick! Man i love your music and tutorials now already, and i don't even have Reason...yet. That's what my question is about:
I'm 15 years old and my dream is to create Dubstep and Drum And Bass, but i'm looking for the best program...What do you think of Reason, is it good to start with creating Dubstep, or should i better look for Fruity Loops or Ableton Live or something?
I Would really appreciate it if you would response to this, because a dream could start.
@Flohoriaaaan There is no correct answer, unfortunately. Deadmau5 goes with Ableton Live, Camo and Krooked are on FL Studio, Loadstar like Logic and Nu:Tone uses Reason. You need to try several things and work out what you like best. Take into account though, that you do not have VST access when using Reason, which is something you might want to look into, especially when making Dubstep.
@ODSTHelljumper Ow wait so what you say is that if i buy reason i can actually not make dubstep? Sorry i didn't understand the last part of your response, i'm from Belgium you know...So i can't make Dubstep with reason like you or...Didn't i understand it...?
@Flohoriaaaan You got me wrong. You CAN make Dubstep in Reason, I do it all the time. Many people like to use VSTs for Dubstep though and Reason can not use VSTs like Massive, for example. But Reason has some pretty good instruments of its own.
Oh man i feeel ya, Skrillex is awesome, ofcourse, but he became a fuckin hype.. I hate it when people say they listen to dubstep alot and never heard one single track from Skream, or Benga, or at least Caspa or Rusko. I even know people who just listen skrillex, not even bar9 or something, and say that they're completely into dubstep.. Oh and try to make some DnB! I'm trying to reproduce noisia's sound right know, could really use a tutorial about that :)
Hahahahaha I fucking like this guy! You're awesome man. I mean great tutorial, but your funny also hahaha "Oh! Ya, this drum shit... Ok!" haha oh and good explenations!
@sullyskillz09 I am aware of that, but often I'll have to go back and listen to the individual kickdrums in order to do some tweaking. It would be quite annoying to have to unlink them everytime.
@ODSTHelljumper yeah no disrespect meant i jumped the gun a bit only got half way in before posting then saw you linked the snares EPIC FAIL ME check out my youtube channel for my productions. keep up the good work
@ODSTHelljumper there's one in particular that comes in between 0:51 and 0:52. Reminds me a lot of the drop in Adventure Club's remix of Crave You. There's also something you do at like 0:41 (kinda sounds like a racing car) that I'm really interested in
Where is that sound from none of the comments say I'm curious now, and is it frustrating that you just got reason 6 after you bought reason 5 and record?
@DayneXavierHunt Yes. When you select the kickdrum in the Kong, on the bottom, a little display will say something like 'Main Output'. That's the channel the particular drum is sent to. Switch that from Main to another Kong out and wire that to an equalizer.
@diegolabrada it is maybe you havent heard any of his snares that arent layered with crash's listen to first of the year at the end he switches between the crash layered one and the normal one
Great tutorial man! Hope you'll be doing more of these in the future. Some nice tutorials of styles of the likes of Feed Me, Porter Robinson, Knife Party stuff would be cool too!
can i get a dowload for this track? or at least a link where i can listen to the the full version? it's sick. i went to your site, but i didn't see it up there.

2.) Dubstep basses and especially growl wobbles are more in the mid frequency spectrum which is why I do it.
i know you don't regret your upgrade, but wouldn't've been better if you'd gotten yourself the reason 6 upgrade instead? i mean, it's all there in one program, don't have to use 2 at the same time (i think that's how reason-record combo works, but i may be wrong) anyway, waiting for your next tutorials. and i would really like to see some of your tracks released already, like this one or the one from your vocal choppin' tutorial :D at least on soundcloud or smt. Grüße aus Stuttgart :)

Two questions?
1.) Should you sidechain the sub?
2.) I've been able to make some good wobbles and skrillex type growl basses. When I start using those should I sidechain those as well?
dumpinfoolz420 6 months ago in playlist dumpinfoolz420's Favorited Videos
@dumpinfoolz420 1.) That depends. You can also cut the lowest frequencies of the kickdrum. Nothing below 70hz is really needed and that space can be filled with the sub. If you go way overboard with sidechaining on your other stuff, moybe for some very dramatic Gemini - Blue-type effects, the I would sidechain the sub as well.
2.) Dubstep basses and especially growl wobbles are more in the mid frequency spectrum which is why I do it.
Hope I could help you. :)
