We have learned about this since Garrett has completed his project. That's the next step...eliminating Styrofoam and using an entirely black inside. He continues to experiment in making a better oven. Thanks for the input.
EXCELLENT JOB GARRETT! Yes, you must take out the styrofoam, very dangerous of gassing off into your food. If you want your oven even hotter, find a nice small black cookie sheet to put in the bottom, but put a small rack in first then lay the cookie sheet on that. then, get some cardboard, cover with foil, like wrapping up a sandwhich, paint black with NON toxic tempura paint, pop in around the sides, you will see it get hotter.
if your gooing to have your kid read from a script teach him how to talk first.

And don't forget to be sure to ALWAYS wear sunglasses and never stare into the reflectors, as they can hurt your eyes without you knowing it.

Don't use Styrofoam for insulation it gives off toxic fums. Just use news paper or cardboard.Or fiber glass house pink insulation
